I attended my first Circle of Friends support meetings last night-and it was wonderful. There were so many people, all of which were really friendly and it was really nice to get advice from other post ops, and yet be able to help those who are pre-op. It was so nice to be somewhere where the common goal is all the same no matter where you are in the journey!! Everyone was accepted and welcomed with open arms and there were no strangers, just friendly faces. I cant wait to go back next month. I just wanted to say NICE TO MEET YOU ALL and THANKS!!! I look forward to getting to know you better!! Have a good day, everybody! My kids are still home from school due to the weather, roads and a lot of people here without electricity, so I will be venturing out with them to get some errands run!! (wish me luck, lol) Love, Jan

Jan it was wonderful to meet you last night too. And I agree that we probably have one of the best support groups around. Love it and the only reason i wouldnt attend is because i was really really sick or my truck broke down lol. Thanks for comming. You are right everyone has something to contribute. Jan

i SECOND THAT POST!!!!! : ) It was great to see all you newer folks as I missed last month and missed meeting some who came for the first time then. I especially liked that we now have a resident COMEDIAN!!! What a HOOT! And even though we didn't end up with much time for the "topic" of the night, it was a GREAT meeting!! THANKS everyone and thanks Claudette for continuing to give of your time to be our group leader!! I know you do things outside the meeting too and it is APPRECIATED!! I wanted to add to my speech about the emotional "stuff" that comes with this surgery that I wasn't prepared for.......incase it seemed I was saying Jim and I are still working and have a ways to go..that's not what I meant..we are in a abetter place, as a couple than we've ever been(but we HAVE worked hard to get here too!)! ME, I, have my OWN personal demons to deal with, the stuff that accumualted over the years of being obese that rose straight to the surface as the fat disappeared......that's what I am WORKING hard to get past. I could have NEVER been prepared for everythign that I've experienced since WLS and I WAS told, as I said last night, but I just didn't believe it applied to ME. Wrong answer!!! : ) BUT, I'd still not trade this for anything and I love the new me, and am healing the old me. : ) Hugs! Tami

Jan, Jana, Janet, It was soooooo good to meet you. You are such a pretty woman!!! Love your hair. I, too, thought COF meeting was the bomb. I'm like Jan. I wouldn't miss unless my hair caught fire or the pond burned!!! I learn new stuff every month and love the give and take from everyone. I would have paid to hear Chris' comments about his surgery. He should do a comedy club somewhere. All the people, pre and post-op have things to share, what works, what doesn't, what do I need to know, how did you feel? It's all valuable and straight from the folks who are living it. Please come back next month if you possibly can. It is so worth the effort. Hugs and love, Lana
