Wow did I ever have a busy day yesterday. And when I think about it now it was all a big wow moment. WOW!! Before surgery just to go to Forsyth would wear me out and I would be tired the rest of the day. But today we went to Forsyth, I got my hair cut and colored, went to lunch at the tea room , went in to Springfield to Dr. Arnold, the eye doctor, and had a laser treatment done to my right eye, was there about an hour and a half., Joe and I went to Harbor Freight and walked all over the store, then met my sister , Sugar at another store and walked all over it. Then went to supper at Panara Bread and on to the support meeting and then drove an hour and a half back home and still I felt fine. Now if that isn't a wow day I don't know what is. LOL We had a great meeting at the firehouse last night. We had 25 people there. Great turnout. Lots of new pre-ops, new post -ops and old post ops too. Lots of good information and everyone brought samples of the protein powder they are using so others could take it home and try it at home. Without buying the whole jug of something, that can get expensive if you don't like it. Opps I forgot I also walked all over Food 4 less and bought a lot of things there plus some new protein powder. Lol Melissa : wow girl you need to put another picture up now you are so much thinner than you are in the picture you have on her now. Wow. You are so pretty and it was so great o see you last night. Cant wait until we get to hear some more great news from you. I love babies , when they are someone else's. You and Terry will make great parents. Janet: so great that you got to come to the meeting. Was a treat getting to meet you . Keep coming. And hope to see you on the board more too. Keep up the good work. Andrew: I hope when you come up next month for your appointment with Dr. H. you will stay with us again. You always have a place to stay you know. Cooks bed and breakfast will always be in business. Lol I just know that next month when we see you that all this exercise and stuff will really be paying off for you. Debbie M: Yea! Girl it is getting closer and closer. I know what you mean, it seems so far off and then all of a sudden it is days away. You will in a day or two start being on automatic or I was. It seemed like it was a week till surgery and then it was one day and wow! Well I'm glad that you finally found the camera. Lol That sounds like things I do and I don't have the excuse of diabetes. Lol Oh by the way that is really neat about your diabetes but be really careful and take you b/s often till surgery ok? They will do it for you in the hospital. Believe me they will . I didn't or don't have diabetes and they took my blood sugar 2 times a day. I ask them why they were doing that and said it was orders. I said I figured that and they said didn't I have diabetes when told no they called and ask Dr. H. I guess because I didn't get stuck anymore lol Rebecca: great that you are continuing to join us. We always welcome new people to the site. Sounds like you had a really busy weekend with the son and the birthday and all the family and church. Let us know what the PCP says and how you are progressing with the quest for surgery. Ok? If you have any other questions as you go along be sure and ask. I'm sure there will be someone on her that can answer them. Would love to have you come to one of our support meetings but is sort of a long way to come. But if you are down here let us know. Ok? Diana: how is the job hunt going for you? Lana: wow girl You can see that you have lost weight . You are looking so good. It gets better and better and the weight comes off too. Hey I will be anxious to see that shirt when you get it done. Sounds intriguing. I wont say how much you lost so that you can tell everyone on here yourself. It is a fantastic amount I think. Claudette: Hey head Honcho another good meeting and we had a really good turnout tonight. Still think we should have this twice a month. Lol Colette: I know you all are excited about getting your support group started at Blue Springs. Hope it turns out to be another good support group Brenda you and Andrew's group too. Craig Hi there . There has been a change in Renees status. She wont be coming up after all . Since her family knew she was really serious finally they have stepped up to the plate an offered to really help her. I told her that I would be waiting in the wings and if it still didn't work out that all she has to do is call me and we will go ahead up here. So continue to pray for her but that she will be successful there and get her life back. Im sure she will email you soon. Pastor Bob: that is a good message , maybe you could do a short morning devotion on here. Doesn't have to be every day if you can spare that kind of time but any that you can do we would appreciate it. Vesta: you were missed tonight and we hope to see you in Feb. I hope you are feeling well. I really hoped to see you but quite understand that it takes a lot out of you to ride that far this soon afte surgery. I am still so wound up after the meeting that I don't know what it will take to unwind me lol Im not the least bit sleepy. But will try to go to bed soon I guess. Tonight at 7:15 I have to go to Branson to have the MRI done of my shoulder. Pray that it turns out ok. Oh almost forgot the web site for the protein bars is: www.freshenergybakery.com Recipe for Protein Balls. 2cups of peanut butter warm it in microwave for 45seconds Add to that 1cup Old fashion oats (uncooked) 1Cup of Protein Powder (any flavor, I use Vanilla) 1cup of Spenda. Mix it all to gether and roll into walnut size balls . Place on wax paper on cookie sheet and place in freezer for a while till it all sets back up stiff. Then store them in an air tight container. Thanks Lana for the tip about adding the protein last and just stirring it in to keep from getting all that foam. That is neat. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

hello all, Gosh I am still up and have to go to work tomorrow. Boss is gone all week so I am holding down the fort. (or trying to). You all make me so jealous that I could not be there to meet all of you and see how good you are all looking. Well we need a support group in western Mo area so we are going to attempt to start one next week - Tony and I will see if we can get this going and I have had so many offers of help and will probably ask for all of it. The need is great for this group to cover all the small surrounding areas outside of blue Springs and people can come from all over. So please keep us in your prayers. Not sure where we will meet after next Monday but God always provides and he already knows. A special thanks to Tony and Janet and Julia and Claudette any others who have offered help. We will be calling on you. Please feel free to email with suggestions. So happy you enjoyed your support group meeting last nite. Sounded marvelous! I still have not gotten my picture on here - I am doing something wrong. The last one I got on so not sure. Havent had time to mess around with it. LOL Have a great day . Colette

Hi all, just a quick checkin. Nothing, nada, zip, zilch on the job front. I keep wondering what the heck have I done wrong? I can't even get an interview. I am an intelligent, dedicated, loyal, hard worker darn it!!! I have put it into God's hands, but that doesn't keep my emotions from reaching the surface. This has affected much more than my income, I am an emotional wreck. I feel like nobody wants me and that I am such a failure. I had my 6 month RNY post op appt yesterday. I am down 86 pounds, doc says 20-25 from goal. I nearly fell off of my chair with disappointment. I was hoping to loose a total of 140-150 and reach a size 12. Presently I am in a 16 and have been for a month. Can it be that I will not even reach ONEderland? ~Diana~

Good Morning All..... I won't be typing a long post this morning, my back is really bothering me. It's all but out so today will be bedrest! I just wanted to come on here and make an appearance for the day! Maybe the meds. will help, if not David will be taking me for a Toradol shot tonight! I probably have been doing too much...that's what I get!....lol Jan....yes, I'm taking my blood sugar constantly! Especially if I'm not feeling well! So far, it's behaving! The highest has been 125 and that's after eating. Oh I know about being in the hospital with diabetes, man talk about feeling like a pin cushion and their little pin *****s go DEEP! I test my blood with a ***** to the pad in the lower part of my palm, just below the thumb. I have good padding there...lol My Mom said, I've always had thick hands! Even when I was thinner...maybe from playing sports? Who knows! Anyway, I need to get back to bed! First, I want to tell you all about a little package that came to my door yesterday! I was in the backroom putting the finishing touches on my dog condo...lol when David came out asking me if I had been expecting a package. I was like no! Then I thought about Melissa sending me some sample protien powder to try. I came up from the back and saw the package and I'm like no, that's too big for that! Then I thought that maybe they were the orthonics I had ordered for David's feet. Then David said, it's from M. Russell and immediately I knew who sent it but I'm thinking why would Melissa use a box that big? I figured she would use one of those padded manilla envelopes! Well, I sat down to open it. By the way Melissa, nice wrapping job! To my surprise and delight I found several baggies of this powdery substance! David and I started laughing, thinking it's a good thing that the post office didn't xray that or we both, Melissa and I would be called in for questioning!..lol Well, that is if the powder wouldn't of been pink!....lol Melissa, I thought it was adorable that you even had matching packing peanuts! I took all these baggies of powder and laid them out on my kitchen table and took pictures of them. They look like drug raid pictures! David and I had a good laugh at Melissa being my pusher...lol Thanks sooo much sweetie!! Melissa, you'll never know how much that meant to me! I do have one question though....how do I use it? Is one baggy one drink? What do I mix it with...water, milk? How much to how much? No instructions hun!...lol I await your orders! I will post the pictures later so you all can see what I'm talking about with the drug raid!.....too funny! Thanks again Melissa, for the package, the smile and the laughs!! Just what we needed! Well so much for a short post! Seriously though, please keep me in your prayers today that my back will heal before my surgery, not that it would stop it but it will be hard for me to move from a chair to gurney to the OR table to bed. With being fat, it's hard enough, with your back out, it's nearly impossible! If the meds work when they kick in, I'll be back to update you guys on my condition! Love & Prayers for ALL!! Remember, God loves you and so do I...Deb M

Debbie I knew I was forgetting something. lol 1 baggie = 1 scoop or 1 drink Take 1 baggie mix with (6 to 8oz) milk (2%, 1%, fat-free, or soy) You can either put it in a personal blender ei: Magic bullet or the sell them at Wal Mart for like $10.00 I got a small funnel and sure and old water bottle. Put in my milk (2%) pour in the powder and shake like crazey. Works just as good. Your very welcome for the protein. Didnt think about what the mail carriers would think. lol God Bless Melissa

Diana, Just wanted to say that just cause your doc has a goal for you that doesn't mean THAT IS THE ONLY GOAL. You work to get to where you are healthy and comfortable. If you reach his goal and feel you can lose more and be healthy, keep going! Only you KNOW for sure what weight is for YOU. You are doign GREAT with th amount you've lost so far!! I bet the stress right now with the job search and finances makes it difficult some days to keep focussed on eating and drinkign the way you are supposed to but hang in there. Things on the job front will turn around soon enough. God's helping you hold out for the RIGHT one! : ) When you least expect it, a great opportunity will appear! Have FAITH! : ) Keep pounding the pavement though and keep an open mind!!! Hugs, Tami
