Well next week on the 25th is my 4 week post op,wooohooo!!Cant wait,so what am I goin to be expecting Dr.H is goin to tell me?And what will I be able to eat?I been craving normal food for some time now.And does anyone know will I be getting a discount card for the Golden Corrral and what kind of discount do they give. The one here in BlueSprings is like only 50 cents off and that dont even pay for the taxes lol.Take care and Godbless.
Hey hey Tony,
Well most likely Dr. H will put ya on Stage 3 of the diet, which is basicly whatever your new tummy can tolerate. Still gotta do your protein shakes and as much water as ya can. Yes he will give ya a "Gastric Card" it basicly says you've had gastric bypass and are not able to eat adult portions so some resturants give ya your meal at the kids price. Last month at my 1 month appt. some of us met at the Golden Corral in Sedalia and we all got our meal at the kids price, well the ones that had the Gastric Card. I've only used it one other time that was here where I live at Ryans Resturant and they also gave me my meal at the kids price. When ya do go out to eat tho, becareful and besure to eat slow if your not sure your tummy will tolerate it yet or not. So far I havnt really found anything that my tummy wont tolerate, even tho I do have trouble getting chicken and turkey to digest, seems the more I chew those meats the more it expands and just wont go down. Anyway, hope that helps ya.

Hey, Tony,
I got a card from Dr. Edwards and it says I've had surgery and need to eat off the kids menu. I haven't used it yet because I'm not at the stage to eat out really. However, today we ran up to Kansas City and I ate the liquid part of Panera Bread's french onion soup and it set just fine. I cannot eat blended meat so I just take a sharp knife and cut it (chicken thigh cooked in the crockpot with some Pace's Picante sauce) into tiny chunks and then chew, chew, chew. Today at Costco I got Tilapia fish and I'm going to try that tomorrow cooked really wet. I just mash everything with a fork and eat a tiny little bit the first time I try it. It seems to work for me but don't know about others. I seem to have a pretty tolerant pouchie. Good luck and don't eat any mac and cheese or potatoes at the Corral - or steak or chicken breast. What's left??? I'd try somewhere else first. Hugs
