H. Pylori

test is positive, I have the inside connection since I can look up my own results. The Dr. has not called me. The treatment is medication for two weeks. Since this is a bacterial infection (without symptoms) will this affect surgery. Has anyone had experience with this? I sure don't want it to set me behind or hinder my recovery. I think you have to be treated and cleared before they will accept you for surgery. Not sure tho Tara. when do you see the surgeon again? If not soon get started on the antibotic for it and call them and see what Dr. Edwards says. Jan

Welcome to the board... and yes, a positive test usually dictates a wait on surgery until they can clear you... and actually it is for the better... we don't want to have any complications afterwards!.... Tara, My H. Pylori test were positive and I only had 10 days to take the medicine before my surgery. It did not affect my surgery in any way. Just make sure you take the medication like the doctor tells you to, and try not to miss any dose. You will be find, and everything will work out. You should have no problems with it and the surgery, so just relax, take a deep breath and you'll be fine. Kathleen
