On my way
I had my appt with Dr. Edwards last week, he says I would do great with either surgery, but really stressed that since I was 42, that it would HAVE to be a life style change because studies show after 5 years the bypass patients gain back a % of weight where as the lap band patients just go in for an adjustment and maintain easily. I still want the bypass...I've put it in God's hands, he has got me this far, I am sure he will light the correct path for me. I still have the same pre-classes either way I go. Dr. Edwards put me one the fast track, trying to get me through the classes fast since I am self pay. This ice has stalled everything, if there are calling me I would not know this is day 4 without power at my house. We got a generator yesterday ( a new one from Home Depot) and it is defective...GREAT!! Today I'm at work for a little bit, the scanner is not working so I'll probably leave early. Thanks for listening to me rant and rave.. Tara.
Tara good to see you on again. I heard that you met my sister Sugar the other day. She said you were a sweetie. I hope you will come to the support meeting on the 22nd at 6:30 we really have a good time. and you will know Sugar and half way know me so it will not be all strangers. Please come would love to meet you. Jan
Hi Jan, love your new pic. You look great. Yes I met Sugar, it was so nice to meet her. I hope to make it to the meeting, I would love to meet everyone. My husband says the "power people" are on our road as I speak. Yipppeeee!! I need to read the archives to see if Sugar has had results yet...later tator Tara
Sugar is very upset but understands really her surgeon wants a peumoligist to read the cat scan ...the person that read it from where you work said it was scar tissue and that lymph node was enlarged so her surgeon wants a professional lung doctor to look at it and read it. She is really upset and now her doctors office is closed due to no electric and all so she is afraid her March 9th surgery date will be pushed back and all . She has waited a long time to get this far . Jan
Hi Tara, I just now read your post and Yes there are some hold ups again! But like you I have put it all in God's hands. Now I am just waiting to get the appt set up with a pulmonoligist. I am glad to hear that your on your way! Sorry to hear about your power. MY hubby works for the elec company, Ozark Elec. They are working so hard and cant get ahead of the problems. He's had about 18 hours sleep since Thursday night... hope the meeting is a go and power outages dont cause a delay.
My Dr wont be in until Thursday to talk to about finding me a pulmonoligist, and who knows if even then because of no power in Republic either...and sewer back-ups. OH BOY...what troubles. Sugar (thanks for being so nice the other day)
Tara,
Hope to see you on the 22nd!!! You've got the right attitude as far as your path with the right surgery. God will guide you to the right choice. Just keep praying for his guidance......it's so nice to get the total peace about your choice when the time has arrived.
Good luck getting through all the STUFF that's req'd pre-op.
You're not alone with the generator troubles! Does it work at all? Ours is older and we only run it for SHORT times and it sounds abnormal!!! lol Better than none at all. I'd be mad if it were new like yours though. Ours is just a loner.
