WHATS HAPPENING-----TUESDAY
Tuesday? Yep that is right isn't it? This is starting out to be a really bad week and hope it gets better instead of worse.
To all of you that have lost your power, I sure hope it gets turned back on soon. I know how bad that can be. I called Melissa to see if she was ok and she said that by some miracle she hadn't lost her power and that she had been busy checking on others and making sure they were all ok. She said that she had called Wayne and David both and had left messages but hadn't gotten an answer from them.
Then I called Lana since I hadn't heard anything from her in a couple of days to see if she was ok and she said she had 2 couples staying at her house and she hadn't lost her elect either. Her job was place was being used as a place for shelter so she wasn't working today again.
But wanted me to tell everyone that she is doing well and is feeling well just has no internet.
My two outside dogs have decided it was too cold for them outside and have discovered the greenhouse. Now neither one of these dogs is housebroken but they both are in the respect that they make no messes in the green house. They love that warmth in there I guess. I told Joe if we could make a doggie door that would really seal well we could do that for them but haven't seen one that would seal well enough. Oh well we are letting them in about 10 and I let them out early morning. Lol. Smart pooches.
How many of you would really be interested in getting a group together in the spring to go to Murfreesboro Ark. For the weekend and go to the diamond crater, to the crystal mines and anything else we can find to do there. Like around the end of April or the first of May. I could find out what the huge motel there charges and let you all know. Would be a great weekend for you and your family. Kids and spouses welcome. Some people from other states have even expressed an interest. All are weight loss surgery patients. One day we could have a big picnic like on Saturday. Everyone bring their own food for themselves and family but all join together any suggestions about any thing? Just something that a few of us are kicking around.
That far ahead would give everyone time to save up the money for the trip and would be a great time with something really fun to do.
Julia: did you get your cell phone back yet? How could she let it be stolen from her? So how did you know who stole it? Can't believe that he had the nerve to answer it. Lol
Takes all kinds don't it. I wonder how many more of these ice and snow storms we are going to have in the state.
So far where we live we have had nothing. Not the last time and not this time either.
Andrew: us too our back yard looked like a lake yesterday afternoon. And the lake is way up.
I think we got 3 inches in all ,could have been more though because we dumped the rain gauge and I forgot what it had in it before either one or two inches.
I'm glad that you and Susan are committed to going daily to the gym; it really makes it easier to do if you have someone that is willing to buddy up with you.
LOL I have a hard time getting Joe to get out of bed most days let alone exercise with me.
Jeannie: good to see you butt in all you want too. Hey guys this is my friend Jeannie that I went to see this past week end in Ark. She and I had a really good time digging in the dirt at the diamond crater.
Pixielf: thanks for the pictures. Those were really sad looking. My son sent me some from Republic that were really bad too. All of the trees he had in his yard are completely gone. One uprooted and the other two broken off down about 3 feet above the ground. Just lucky that none hit the house.
Tony: tell your wife that it will come. It just takes awhile to get use to eating to live instead of living to eat. Quite a different concept to us. I am just now at 5 months learning how to handle some things and being able to get in enough food and water in a days time. It hasn't been easy.
Hey man you have some beautiful kids.
Deanna: seems your place and electricity is a bad thing.
Hope you and Cody are doing well and since you have the elect back on everything is ok.
Yes that was amazing about the two boys wasn't it? I guess he really did a number on the boy since he didn't try to escape. He wasn't with him all the time so don't know why he didn't leave.
Glad you checked in.
I will be glad when this cold weather is over so I can get outside and play again. Want to work in my garden this coming spring. Hope I will be able to do a lot more than I did last year. I have been drawing and planning my water pond up front, still haven't got exactly what I want though.
Hope everyone is safe and warm , cuddle up and at least enjoy part of this cold weather.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS
JAN
Jan, I like the idea of May instead of April since my surgery date is April 2nd. I really need a short vacation!!!
I haven't got my phone back yet.We have a couple of friends checking it out. But I did get the service stopped and have it insured. So will probally get another. My car is froze shut and I have stayed in for 2 days. If the sun dares to even blink tomorrow I will be out and gone. I have problems with SAD ( seasonal affect disorder) so I don't want to stay in no matter how cold or I will get really down and depressed. And when I am home all I seem to do is eat out of boredom, which is not good.I hope everyone stays warm and safe. Julia

Hi Jan,
Thanks for the beautiful comment about my kids,That is another reason for the WLS.Want to able to play with them and see them grow up to have beautiful children of they're own.My wife is working with me on what I can and cant eat,I would'nt know what I would do without her.Shes a good women and keeps me inline lol.Well, today Im goin to be without my expedition,my wife is goin to take it to work her little Geo Prizm dont handle to well on the nasty roads.Plus my SUV is much safer an its a AWD & FWD,So she should'nt get stuck lol we hope.So anyways i'll be here all bored and nothing to do bu****ch the blue tube lol.Well,Im out for now getting kind of late OMG 2:00 in the morning.
I'll be praying
for you guys that dont have electricity and Godbless.

Good Morning Everyone,
Bbbbrrrrrr
it's COLD out there this morning, 14 degree's with a wind chill of 6 here, thats COLD. I went to let the dogs out for a bit this morning and our front door was froze shut lol Took me a min to get that thing open, the dogs were getting antsy until they got out there, usually they like to roam for a few mins but not this morning lol they did their business and came right back in quick lol
Well I got a notice in the mail yesturday, I been called for Jury Duty, ugh, I gotta report on thursday morning, hopefully I wont have to serve, but if I do then I do, hope its an interesting case lol.
Today I dunno if we are even gonna get out, we did our work out yesturday and today we would just do cardio for 30 mins or so, it's just so cold but we'll prolly go cuz Susan really wants to go.
Tony good to see ya posting some, glad your doing well, it takes time to get the eating down, I know for me the first few weeks I just wasnt hungry at all but I did force myself to eat some, well my wife would insist on me eating something lol It really is hard to get in what you need to eat and all the water at first. Im finally up to getting in all my water but some days I forget about getting in all my protein shakes. I dunno what we'd do without our wives, my wife has been a rock through all this, it really has made her want to lose with me and she is actucally.
Jan that would be really kewl to get together at the diamond mines, when I lived down in south ark. I always wanted to go there but never did. Let us know what ya find out and all. A picnic would be a real nice get together too.
Has anyone heard from Alan lately?? Was thinkin bout him the other day wondering how he's doing.
Well Im gonna go get my shake and bundle up in my throw blanket for a bit, sure cant wait for it to warm up again. Hope everyone is staying warm, we're sure praying for those that are still without power, I know it's not fun.
Have a great day ya'll,
Andrew

Morning all.
We got lots of ice, rain, sleet and snow thank God, we still have our power and heat!
Been doing the 1000 calorie diet, getting ready for surgery and I have my little green bottle too. Did anyone else go through food withdrawls? I swear I'm going through something and the only way I can describe it is withdrawls. Everything hurts and I mean, E V E R Y T H I N G and I feel like crap! ...sorry but I do!
Hubby's afraid I'm gonna have a heart attack or stroke out. I reassured him that I wouldn't let it get that far. I guess it's just from dropping from a 3 or 4 thousand calorie a day intake to a 1000 calorie a day.....must put the body in shock! I will just be glad when the 26th is here and I can get this over with.
I pray everyone is safe and staying warm. What a storm! One right after another for 3 days! My car hadn't moved from Friday when we got home from Sedalia until this morning when the hubby went to work. Church was even cancelled! I think everything was. I had a big branch hit the roof this morning, gave me a good scare, I had been asleep!
Thats all for now....Love & Prayers Deb M
Hey Deb - only 10 days to go!!! Yes the 1000 calorie diet was challenging for me, but I'm glad that I stuck pretty close to it. My surgery went very smoothly. I am a firm believer in doing exactly what the Doc says after all we are putting our care in his hands-well God's really, but Doc is the tool He will use-but I believe if we do what he says he can best help us that way!!
Just keep focused on the fact that you are doing this for your health and this is your first challenge to a happier healthier you!
Hugs,
Marilyn
Thank you Marilyn, I know, it's just hard! Did you feel like you were going through withdrawals?
Every bone, joint and muscle aches, I have no energy, a headache and I'm extremely cold and can't get warm. I don't have a fever but I feel like I should. Hubby is in shorts and I'm in flannel pjs, wrapped in a blanket with hunting socks on. Hubby says didn't you say that everyone having wls felt cold? I said, yes but AFTER the surgery!
I just don't know what to think...I will pray for guidance and strength! Deb M
Deb M:
Hi honey! I wanted to try to make you feel a "little better"...the doctors at Columbia, where some of us went, make you go on a all protein drink diet. NO FOOD...some of us it's for 2 weeks before surgery, but some others its FOUR MONTHS before, so seeee, it could be worse.
Sounds like all the symptoms you describe are EXACTLY what it's like AFTER surgery, so I thought maybe your body is feeling that "withdrawal" like you mentioned. At least with the protein shakes you feel full and they are low in calorie and no sugar.
Have you tried the shakes yet? Might make you feel better!!
Sherr
Hi Sherr......thank you! I just wanted to make sure that what I'm feeling is normal. I knew I would feel like crap AFTER the surgery for awhile but I didn't expect to feel like this BEFORE! I was wondering if anyone else had thse symptoms before surgery and I guess so...lol I never knew there was such a thing as food withdrawals...man, this ain't gonna be fun, at all! I don't like feeling bad but I guess it's just a small stepping stone to actually feeling better than I have in years and yes hun, it could be worse! Alot worse! I'm thinking, I'm almost 300lbs, what about the peeps that are over that and going through the same thing? Man, I can hardly stand up or put one foot in front of the other. I have the shakes like crazy! I guess I got myself in this predicament and I'm gonna have to get myself out of it!
Thanks again! Deb M
Deb...hope you start feeling better soon. It sounds like low blood sugar to me. the shakes and all. I didn't have to do anything before surgery but the 2 week liquid diet after surgery was the awful part for me. I have to tell you though...I am 8 weeks out and 43 lbs lighter and it has made all the difference in the world. I still struggle with what I can eat compared to what I want to eat, and everytime I give in to even a tiny bit of temptation, I pay for it, but I still feel great and it feels great to buy new clothes and have people notice your weight loss. You may have a better time after surgery because of this important step before surgery.
Good luck and I hope the time passes quickly for you.
