Hi Vesta. I feel for you!!! I am just a little over 3 weeks post op and I suffered from terrible gas pain for well over the first week. I used gas x strips...the max allowed everyday and I took 2 at a time...seemed to work better. The only thing that finally made it start to pass was that I rocked my body side to side and then front and back...and I had to make myself relax(which I know is so hard). I did lots of walking and that didnt seem to help near as much as moving my torso around alot. I wish you the best of Luck. Take Care, Valerie

Vesta, I had a horrible time with the gas. All I did was take a bit of medicine and go to sleep with a really ho****er bottle. The ho****er bottle really helped me. I couldn't really walk all that well once I left the hospital because of it. In just a few nights the gas pain was gone. Another thing I did was climb stairs. I could only do a few at a time. This may sound weird, but the "pushing" to get up a stair helped. I never took gas-x or anything like that, but Margie said you can take the infant gas drops. I think they are simithicone. Hope this helps and glad to see that you are doing well.....

Oh Vesta, so very sorry you have that. I didn't but a lady in the hospital with me did and was miserable for 2 weeks. Atleast mine made its way out, ummm, started out smelling SOOOOOOO BAAAAADDDDD. Don't think that something is wrong, I have heard it is normal. Glad you are doing ok, I promise, it will be just a matter of time and you will be back to your old self soon, just smaller. ~Diana~

Vesta. Sorry about the gas!!! It is part of the surgery the first days after. All of the above advice is great. Keep walking and moving inbetween the resting and drinking and sippping and going to the bathroom. LOL Colette
