BIG WOW MOMENT!!!!

Seems like I always log on to late to post on Jans Column. But i wanted to ler Jan and everyone know that Iam doing alot better...My big wow is that...I have been sick lately because...(here it goes dont be mad at me) but, I have been eating nothing but Homeade chicken soup, FF crackers, ice tea with sweetner, and SF/FF pudding with my protein. Also I have been eating very little amounts...Since July 24 my WLS..OK, I know this is bad. but I have to tell you that its hard to explain my feelings..First of all..Iam scared to get sick for one..Ive been so sick over the last 9 years that im sick of being sick...Second...I dont want the dumping syndrome.I havent had it..dont want it...Third I dont want to gain my weight back.....BIG WOW: Starting yesterday...I ate BEEF STEW. 6 little meals....Tonight. I had roasted potatoes, onions, carrots. instead of the pork i fixed I had turkey with it...and a salad with mayo it..I found out that mayo is very good to eat and low in carbs, sugar and fat....It tasted REMARKABLE....I havent had that kind of rich food in my mouth in MONTHS....After eating it about 30 minutes later I got to sweating and got very warm and paniced that I was dumping...but it eased off and Iam ok....My family is happy for me...So I thought I would let Jan and you all know...I think Im going to lick this FEELING of beng scared, but Iam going to take it one day at a time.....Just like the song... Craig, that is just awesome. I still eat mostly cottage cheese because I have had dumping happen a few times, and frankly I am pretty much afraid to eat anything else, so I can totally sympathize. your weight loss is fantastic though. WTG!

Praise the Lord Craig!!! That is great. Just take it slow introducing things. If you like sweet potatoes try them instead of white. You will have a better chance of not having problems with them. And if you do dump just remember what did it. Write it down and go from there. You have done an awesome job so far. I doubt very much if you will gain you weight back. But you do need the nutrition to build muscle mass, so remember not all weight gain is fat. Muscle gain is wanted weight.Nice to hear from you again. Julia

Craig - that is great! You need to venture out and try things. This is how you will have to eat the rest of your life, so it will be much more enjoyable to experiment a little bit and discover some of the tastes that you used to enjoy.
