Hi guys... I'm like 3 weeks out and have to have my gallbladder removed next Wednesday.. sucks... I have a huge gallstone that is blocking my pathway.. I have had problems with this pain in the past, but they never could figure out what it was from - kidneys, gallbladder and the like, but evidently the stones were microscopic at the time, and have grown over the years, and gastric bypass surgery just made it more apparent. I really hate to get cut again, but I hate the pain... Let me know if you have had this operation.. Thanks, Treece

Hi Treece, So sorry to hear that. I have had gallbladder surgery years ago before good ol laproscopic was around. But I felt 100% better after surgery. My prayers are with you. Hope you feel better soon.Julia

oH Treese that is sad but you dont want to live with that pain either. I had gall bladder taken out long ago before lap was done so i have a huge big scar across my belly from it but it was one of those surgeries that even the pain of the open surgery was a relief from the pain of the gall bladder. I know you hate to have another surgery dont know why all doctors dont take that out at time of surgery in the first place because it acts up in a lot of patients. Does set you back some in the healing process but you will feel better soon . I hope you get over it quickly. and get back on the road to health. Jan

Hi Treece, sorry you are having trouble. I had mine out lap 6 weeks after last C-Section. Kinda rotten to be in the hospital so soon. The procedure was so easy for me. It required 4 tiny incisions, no stitches or staples, just bandaids. I felt like I had done too many stomach exercises afterward, but other than that, I went back to work the next day. Pretty easy. So how are you doing? I bet by now, you are starting to sloowwwlly loose that surgery fluid and beginning to see some pounds lost, if your body hasn't gone into trauma shock from surgery. Seems like it goes either way after talking with lots of post ops. ~Diana~

Treece, Like Jan and others I had my gallbladder out before lapariscopy was invented!!! However, I was so glad to have the pain gone that even the open scar was worth it. A few years later DH had his done lapariscopically and went back to work the next day. Now, he's a martyr but probably the second day wouldn't be too impossible. However, you still area recovering from your GBP so just use your pretty head about how long to stay in bed (maybe until Easter???). This GB surgery is a piece of cake compared to RNY. Hugs, loveys and prayers, Lana

I also have had the gallbladdar surgery and it really was no big deal. They did all of it Laproscopically(sp) and I didnt even get admitted to the hospital. I do have a larger scar than most because I had a cyst but who can tell. After 2 kids and my weight going up to 375 I think my stretch marks even have stretch marks so no big deal there. The only other surgery Ive had is a c section and compared to that it was a walk in the park!! You will be fine-(((hugs))) Amy
