WHATS HAPPENING WEDNESDAY
Wow yesterday was one busy day on the boards. Surgeries being done on not one but two . Both as reported by Julia are doing well. Vesta seemed to fair better than Marilyn but im sure she will be ok in another day or so.
Newbies on line asking questions that some can be answered easily and others that no one has the answer too.
Computers being fixed and monitors being given away. Wonderful thing you did Tony. That is awesome.
Another surgey tomorrow, Gretta we will keep you in our prayers. Know that you are doing the best thing for yourself that you will ever do.
And another one of our regulars has her date in April. Way to go Julia. I know you are excited.
Claudette thanks for reporting first on Vesta, she is a sweet lady isn't she.
Craig: so good to see you on the board. And good to talk to you too. IM really glad that you are trying to eat some other things. Good boy. Maybe I can put away my butt kicking boots for a little while longer. Lol. You know that you are just going to have to do it. And drink lots more water than you are doing. Yes WLS patients get dehydrated easier than others do.
Debbie M: wow you have had a big day haven't you. So glad that you got to meet Tony. Is wonderful how much people on here care about each other so much. Thank you Tony. Hope we get to meet you one day soon.
Your grocery list sounds like it will be quite a chore getting stuff for both of you to be able to eat and enjoy.
That is so neat of your hubby to start doing what you have to do and will give him such good benefits too.
To find Gretta you would go to the 3rd floor ,that is where all the surgery patients go too.
And for surgery you will probably go to the same place you go to first for pre-ops . they will tell you where to go to when you are there for pre-ops. If you get lost just ask someone that is at the front info desk in front.
Not a very big hospital to get lost in.
We will keep you in our prayers for your pre-op visit and also your friend will be prayed for too.
Rachael: we will all be keeping your friends grandmother in prayer for a healing . We know that God can do it that is for sure.
Your job sounds like you are very very busy again.
I guess it sort of comes in spurts doenst it?
Melissa : now I want to talk to you about the wind burn. How did you get your belly burned? This is winter time you know should be laying out in your bikini....a little too cold for that. Yeah when the lotion calms down try aloe vera on the wind burn. Will feel a lot better.
Im glad that you had a good time with Janet going to Columbia and back. I hope that the two of you will come to the meeting on the 22nd. Would love to see you and would like to meet Janet. How is she doing from her surgery.
I sure hope we don't get any ice and snow this weekend
Everyone have a wonderful day in the Lord today.
Andrew what did the doctor say about Susan.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS
JAN
Yea, I am the first today, guess tha is what happens when you can't sleep and it is 3:30 in the morning.
Well, I applied for a job thru Express Personnel yesterday. Thinking back, I think they blew me off. I was told I would get an interview. After driving a hour one way and submitting my application on-line, emailing my resume, I filled out paperwork. They said they had all of the information they needed, and would call "if anything came available". I was out the door seven minutes after I arrived. I think the universe is testing me.
Tonight I am going to get a haircut and color. I hope to be able to use my new camera from Christmas and get a new picture. I need one, in a bad way. Does anyone know how long the hair loss lasts? I get enough protein and take supplements and use Nioxin, but it is still falling out by the handful.
Julia, thank you for the info on Vesta and Marilyn. Glad they made it thru the surgery without complication. I just don't wish nausea were following Marilyn.
Gretta, saying prayers for you. Hang in there, the wild ride begins today.
Valerie, put away the scale for a week, just one week, to see your changes. I wish I lived closer to you. I feel like I am failing you....
Jan, thank you for all you do to keep this board active. It can't be easy with everyone wanting some of your time and advise.
Hope everyone has a good day!
~Diana~
Wow, two more days and I'm off for my assessment! Please pray the yucky weather misses us guys or at least that the traveling will be safe! Thank you, all!
Jan, yes I'm starting to get a little excited but have been keeping myself busy so I don't think about it too much. I don't need the stress! ...lol
I pray that Vesta and Marilyn are doing just fine today! I pray that they are blessed with fast recoveries and that they get back home before the weather gets bad!
Gretta, your up girl!! The next LOSER (to be) at bat! Hopefully, I will have time to come over and see you, if your still in the hospital. Don't know though, depends on the weather! If it's getting bad, the hubby is gonna want to be hitting the road, to get home before it gets too bad. Hopefully, it will pass up and I will get to see you and maybe even Julia if shes there to see you at the same time! Prayers are coming your way!! May the Lord Bless you, Dr. Hornbostel and his staff and that you come through the surgery with NO problems!
Thank you again Antonio! I was getting really bad eye strain from my old screen. I hadn't even realized it until yesterday when I got a terrible headache and it was right behind my eyes! I see you made it home safely. I always have my kids call me when they get home (it's a mommy thing) but I thought it might be a bit too much to ask you to call when you got home. I was happy when I say your post last night though!
It's kinda funny that the monitor you brought me is the size that I needed to get on with this "work at home" company. I just need DSL now...it's 1 mile away from me at that Justice Center, you passed on your way here! I need to tap into that somehow....lol I know they were burying those types cables underground, all down 2 hwy so it's on my property but we're still told we dont have cable, dsl...nothing!
I want to have some "work at home" experience before the bigger companies in Kansas City start allowing their employees to work from home. It's happening everywhere in the bigger cities and it will be here soon. Some of the companies here are already doing it. I have the office for it, I just need to finish organizing it!
Was it Danielle that said she knew someone that works from home and that it was a legit company? If anyone knows anything about this would you please email me. It would be soo nice if I could get through this surgery and be able to help the hubby with our finances right from home. I am not and will not be able to get back out into the workforce right away but it sure would be nice if I could help the hubby and take some of his stressers away!
Well, I've babbled enough.....you all have a great day!!
Love & Prayers, Deb M
Good Morning Ya'll,
Well sheesh, I dont post for a day and have tons go catch up on lol. Our cable internet was down all day or I thought it was down. Come to find out my cable modem went bad so I went into farmington and exchanged my modem. When I went to install the modem it too wouldnt work, we spent a couple hours on the phone (mostly wait time) trying to get help hooking the blasted thing up but no go. They gave me an appt for a Tech to come out and check out the lines and stuff this morning. I get up this morning and everything is working, ai yi yi lol Praise The Lord!!!!!
Well to back things up we had a full day yesturday. For the last couple weeks we've been looking into joining a gym or excersise program. We've checked into a gym that is right here in Pilot Knob but neither of us were that comfortable there, even tho they have times when they are not busy which I like cuz I'm so self concious about being around people and them watching me TRY to work out lol. Well yesturday morning I called a really nice gym out in farmington, 22miles away so we made a 11am appt and went to check it out. We spent over an hour there looking at what programs they have an all and ended up joining. For the same money it cost at the gym here we can get so much more, just a bit more of a drive but that will be ok I guess. To top it off, we prayed and prayed for the finances to come in for us to be able to do this and well all 3 of my brothers went in together and bought us the membership WOOT WOOT!! God is sooooooooooooooooooo GOOD. So we joined, made our first appt with a trainer yesturday evening, so we had first work out yesturday, eeeeekkkk am I sore today lol This is gonna be great tho cuz Susan is doing it with me, she wants to lose so bad and since right now we cant get her insurance we look at this as the next best thing so far. Her doctor recommended she try the Atkins diet cuz thats a real good diet to help control diabetes so we're all set up to do that, it'll be good for both of us. Also yesturday I found out that the blood pressure pill I'm taking is a beta blocker and was told that beta blockers tend to stop weightloss, eeeeeekkkk. I gotta call my PCP today and see what he says. Thats the only pill I take but if it's true then hopefully he can change that for me. So we're both excited about getting to do the gym thing, Im really excited for Susan doing this with me and wanting to lose weight like this, this will help us BOTH get healthly again.
Deb!!!!!!!!!! Thats so awesome how the Lord blessed you with another monitor...woot woot!!!! Gurl your getting so close to your date yay!!!! We're praying for you and david both and praying the weather holds out for your assesment appt.
I havnt read other posts yet but it looks like Vesta and Marilyn came through surgery, both were in our prayers, I almost called Jan or Deb M. to ask about em but by the time we got home I sat down and zonked out in my recliner LoL.
Well Im gonna get caught up on the days events on here and see whats going on. Just remember God is soo good...ALL the time!!!
Oh yeah....Monday night we had our first support group here and it went GREAT!! It was Brenda, myself and my wife and two others from Brenda's church. We really had a great discussion on getting to know each other and stuff, and other things that have been going on with our WLS. Just getting to talk to others about weightloss face to face really helps me big time. Next month I know there will be more and we'll all have more ideas, it was a GREAT first meeting. If any of ya'll live near here and want to come PLEASE do so, you wont regret it. I also got to meet Brenda's hubby and took a lil tour of their church, such a sweet lil church, you could really feel the spirit.
Ok well now Im gonna go get caught up on other posts, have a great day everyone.
God Bless ya's
Andrew

HELP
Sherr

Hello everyone,
Late as usual. Glad to hear the surgeries all went fine and another one soon. Prayers are sent in Thanksgiving for all. And prayers are already started for Gretta.
Had a busy day. Had to drive all the way to Osage Beach for a meeting today so I left at 715 and got home at 600p.m. Shortly thereafter got the news that Mels brother died this evening in Pittsburgh, Pa. Just 8 weeks ago, his wife died of bone cancer, and she was his caregiver and did not know she had the cancer till she just had so much pain He was very sick but her death helped him die sooner as I am sure he had a broken heart. He can rest now with Jesus.
So If I am not on here, you know we went to Pa. again. I am concerned about the trip as Mel has had this terrible bronchial infection and cold. Not sure if he can make the trip. It is 15 hours drive and very expensive to fly. Keep us in your prayer. I will go for now as too many things are floating in my mind at present. Love you all. Coeltte
