Finally got all the leaves cleaned out of my 4 huge iris beds. It was pretty chilly out but only because of the wind. It really was 50 and sunny but that wind made it feel cold. We went to town this morning. Bought a new chain saw chain, a few groceries, and bought 2 new pair of cheap pants at the dollar store for 5.00 a piece lol. I said they were cheap. Both of them were size 10s. I have got to go try on a pair of jeans somewhere. I know they wont be 10s but want to see what size I take now. Got some more flower seeds in the mail today. As soon as I get some more potting soil will start some of the seeds in the green house. I need to buy some new big pots for some of my flowers to transfer them. The geraniums are really growing. And the tomato plant is almost 7 ft tall. Lol It has 4 little tomatoes on it already and is loaded with blooms. Cant wait to eat some of them. I got cheated out on eating any good tomatoes this past late summer when they were really plentiful because of my surgery. So am looking forward to getting my fill of them this year. I can eat some tomatoes now. But guess we still have to be careful of the skin and seeds? Don't know will ask. I guess I can peel them for one thing that will help. WE are suppose to go to Fayetteville Thursday and stay till Sunday but the weather may cut that trip short. Because if it starts sleeting and snowing on Sunday we will probably come home Saturday morning. Diana: I never heard of Tastefully Simple. Sounds good tho. You are doing really well with the weight loss. I wish my scales would start moving again. They have been stuck for over 2 weeks. I got under 200 and they just stopped. Lol I guess I put so much attention on getting under 200 that my body says ok we are here. I still would like to lose about 35 more pounds . Andrew: well how was your meeting? How is Susan? Andrew getting in all tha****er is something that I just have accomplished in the last few days. My trick is to trick myself. I bought an eight pack of 12 oz bottles of Propel plus I had 3 others too. I make sure they are all filled and in the frig at night when I go to bed and they are aall on the bottem shelf. Then as I drink them and fill them back up I put them on the top shelf. That way I can see how many I have drank and how many more I have to go for the day. Now I can take big swallows it isn't hard to drink like it was at first and you could only take tiny sips. It will get better later. Im almost 5 months out. Yeah I have days that I don't think about eating anything or drinking anything but it is our job to remember that. Sit an alarm , post post it notes what ever it takes. Debbie M: I know you are starting to get really excited aren't you? When you go for you pre-ops Gretta may still be in the hospital if you wanted to go by and say hi to her. That is wonderful that you have ask Andrew and Susan to be your angels. Did you meet them when you all went for seminars? Remember when you start gardening again I will probably have seeds I can give you. Marilyn and Vesta : Will be praying for you both this morning. Hope everything goes really well for you. Marilyn the only other thing to take to the hospital is if you like a certain pillow for sleep you might want it in the hospital. Just put a colored pillowcase on it so you will know which is yours. And you will need the pillow for the ride home. Helps hold against the bumps. WE will be watching for the two of you to be coming over he hill together to the losers bench. Tami: Sorry to hear about your weight gain. Probably holiday foods? The gymn sounds so good. Wish there was one close to me. Yeah sure is a shame they cant operate on our heads and emotions at the same time they do our stomachs isn't it? Melissa: I hope you got hold of Wayne and David last night? I hope both of them are ok. I especially worry about David since he has such bad heart. Hey email me with what you might have to get rid of I need some things for the guest house. Like end tables or what not shelves or such. Yes Sugar got her date but the hospital wants her to have a new cat scan because of a small spot on one of her lungs. Her pcp said she looked at the x ray and didn't see anything but would set her up for the cat scan. We are hoping it is old scar tissue for when she use to have pneumonia every year. Deanna: Tell Cody we are all pulling for him to win. I bet the car is really cool. Be sure and post a picture. Yeah the divorce papers mess things up some times don't they? Tell him to hang in there by the time he is 12 he may have changed his mind by then. Lol Hope today isn't as windy as it was yesterday. There is suppose to be a comet that can be seen tonight in the western sky but I couldn't see it but of course it was so cold and windy that I couldn't stay out there. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Good Morning All..... When I first came on and say my name in big, bold letters I was like, oh no, what have I done now and it's just sweet lil pixie getting me a monitor! Cool, huh? Geez, I didn't even get this email done and I had to pop back to the board to find something Jan had said in her post that I wanted to reply to and there, my name again...lol Antonio, your awesome too! I have been so busy getting everything set up for the new lifestyle that the hubby and I are making before my surgery I haven't made time for much else. I have cleaned out all the junk and no no foods from the kitchen. I went grocery shopping last night and got most of the things we will need to start anew. I got on the internet and pulled up grocery lists for diabetics, heart healthy, lap band and low fat. I sat down with the hubby to find out what's the lowest he will go on his food serving amounts, then asked him his likes and dislikes from the lists and compaired them to mine and then made one grocery list. My hubby has decided that he is going to do this right along with me, of course he won't have the band or have to do the drastic eating that I will but he is giving up all his snack foods, for healthy ones....no more junk food and he will be eating smaller amounts. I am trying to get all this together so we can be in a routine before the surgery or at least healthier eating!! I am so proud of my hubby, he was doing good with his weight until he got diagnosed with this heart condition. Between the meds. and feeling like he was given a death sentence when they told him about his heart he has kinda slid downwards. I have been working on him, giving him "the pep talk" and saying that we have GOT to do this and we have to make it happen or we WILL die younger that what we should. He is well over 200lbs now and dragging everyday and sees what I am saying. It's not easy dragging another body (weight) around with ya 24/7 whether it's 50lbs. or 150lbs. I have our weight room in the back all cleaned up and ready to go, the kitchen is almost 100% ready for the change and we are already working on our eating habits and leisure time activities. While shopping yesterday I picked up some gerber baby spoons, so no more "Jethro Bodine" spoons for me and I found some sippy cups that have a device inside that you can take out so you don't have to suck (cause we're not suppose to) on it to get anything, it just dripples out slow enough but well enough that maybe, just maybe I can keep from wretching (we aren't suppose to yuk if we can help it....band slippage) I also picked up some cute little dessert plates, along with some very small paper plates, then for kicks I was looking at the toddler plate sets...lol There was the Disney princesses, batman, spiderman, dora the explorer and I got disappointed when I didn't see anything that I liked, then out of the corner of my eye I saw a spongebob squarepants and I almost bought it, just for the fact that it reminded me of Craig and Andrew....two of our well known post surgs that are doing great and both share a strange but adorable love for the spongebob character....lol Low and behold tho I spotted in the darkness, behind all the famous little charactors, a toddler set that had my name on it.....The Backyardigans!!!! WooHooooo!!!! I'm happy for sure, now! I just love those little guys!! I didn't get the set tho...the fork and spoon were too big but I'm still thinking about it today! Hey, they told me to have fun with this and get through it any way I could...lol Jan... as for going to see Gretta, were would I find her? What floor? That reminds me, where do I go on the morning of surgery? What Floor, room, etc? As for seeing Andrew and Susan at the seminar, I guess they saw me but I didn't see them...probably cause I was sooo nervous, the hubby and I neither one do crowds well. They didn't bother me years back but since I've been heavy, they do. Hubby is a very nervous person and has never liked crowds...but God has him coming to Church! I wanted to add a prayer request, if I could! I ran into a very dear friend of mine at the store yesterday. We met in Church years ago, she was the first person I had ever gone down to the altar to pray for, we became instant friends. Her name is Saundra, she is beautiful inside and out. She has a heart of gold and wouldn't hurt a fly. She is going through some VERY ROUGH times right now. We need to pray for her to have guidance and courage to get though her issues. She has left the Church right now, she said that she was too uncomfortable being there and living the lifestyle she is living. She couldn't stay teaching the young girls at our Church with them looking up to her and her not setting a good enough example to be teaching them. I could see God's spirit in her eyes as we spoke! She knows what she needs to do but doesn't know what to do to get there. She said she had been crying all week. That was confirmation for me that Saundra is the one that the Lord has laid on my heart to pray for during the nights and days of this last week. It is sooo awesome to get confirmation on something like that, just awesome!....Thank you LORD!!!! Well, I'm outta here for a bit.....You All have a Blessed Day and know that God Loves you and so do I....Deb M

LOL Melissa...been there, done that! Wind burns are NO fun! Years back, while living in southern CA. My (at the time bf) and I drove from Redondo Beach, CA. to San Diego, CA, in a convertible. I am VERY fair skinned and had a little spagetti strap shirt on. Two hours of 100 degree weather at 70 mph and THEN like that wasn't enough. The reason we went there was to go to the zoo (excellent zoo) and walked around for hours. Needless to say the ride back home was in a "top closed" convertible. That wasn't the worst of it tho, I was cook at Marie Callenders, there in Torrance, CA. Ever stand over a hot grill or steamer with that kind of burn? Man, I ended up going to the ER that day. I almost passed out from the pain. So, I'm with ya on that one sister!....lol
