What are some of YOUR New Year's traditions?? We have a bunch...but the following is just one... it is neat too! One of the things we do is called the First Footer. It is considered good luck to have the FIRST person entering your home AFTER the stroke of midnight to be a male, preferably tall, dark haired and good looking. They should come bearing gifts (usually suggested to be a silver coin, bread, salt, evergreen branch, coal, and other goodies. Even if they are a family member that resides at the house they should STILL KNOCK or ring the doorbell. Open the door and welcome them in ... they distribute their gifts to the family members and then they must leave by ANOTHER DOOR (normally the back door)... of course they can come back into the house afterwards. It is a fun tradition... you can google or yahoo it for more information. You will get a kick out of the trivial aspects of the tradition such as it being bad luck for a woman to come in through the door first (one website even went as far as to say that if you had to hold them away at gunpoint???? ) YIKES... and also it is not good luck for a blonde or redheaded male to enter first.... Thank goodness my darling hubby is not only handsome but he is also taller then me and had gorgeous dark brown hair. Just wanted to share one of our weird traditions... we also watch the ball drop in Times Square as well... have NEVER missed it ever since I can remember , even as a small child. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!!

Hi Pixielf sure is good to see you post. never heard of that tradation but sounds like a fun one. I think families need to start traditions like those with their kids when they are little , something to have fun with and hang on to. Are you going to try and be at the next meeting? Have missed seeing you. and missed you on the board too. Busy time of the year for everyone i know. Especially with you keeping up with the handsome first footer. lol Jan

Hi Pixieleaf!!! So good to see you on here! I've not been on much myself lately but have some time today! : ) No real tradtions here but this year I'm making a list of some goals for the year with Jim and who knows, maybe that'll be a new one. It's not resolutions, but TRUE goals that are very meaningful. I'm very excited about my 2007!!!! AGAIN, nice to see you! Hope you get to a support meeting here soon! : ) Tami
