Papers sent and support group

Well, my papers have been sent. I sent them last week. I have had everything done except the psyche evaluation. How long does it take for the doctors office to call and give an appointment and how far out is the appt? Also, I seen some posts from Blue Springs and Buckner asking about support groups. Why can't we start a support group in Independence for people who need it?? Just a thought Michelle

Michelle, A lot depends on the Dr. and how back logged they are. Mine is Dr. H in Sedalia. I got my paperwork in the day of the seminar the first of November. They made a consult for March then changed it to Jan 3rd. It will probally be 6 to 8 weeks after my conuslt until my surgeery date. I hope to at least have them call me with a date by mid Feb. I live in South Kansas City near Bannister Mall and had my surgery in Overland Park. Who is your doctor? I have gone to a few support group meetings at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in OPKS where I had the surgery, but would be willing to participate in one on the Missouri side of KC. Scott

Scott, It is actually just a thought right now. I had seen others in the area looking for a support group and was wondering what it would take to start our own. My doctor is Dr. Scott and it's not feasible for me to drive down to columbia every week. I feel I will need a support group to help me through this. So if we get anymore who want to get this going in our area then maybe we can talk about where and when. Thanks Michelle
