So what is on your list of things to do today? Mine, I have my son and daughter in law and kids coming down today for Christmas. They have other commitments for the Christmas eve and Christmas day so I got today. That is ok as long as they get to share some Christmas with me. Im having the same menu today as well as Monday so I made todays stuff in small bowls and pots and Mondays will be in larger ones. I tried calling Melissa yesterday afternoon but got her answering machine and she didn't call me back. Has any one heard from her? Is she doing ok ? is she back in the hospital? Julia: sounds like you have loads of trouble with the apt complex. Do you live at the apartment complex too? If a management company took it over wouldn't you be out of a place to live plus out of a job?? Had to laugh about he gaining 5 pounds when you read what all everyone cooks. I don't think it works like that does it? Gosh I hope not. And yes I love Vienna sausages too. I just cant think about what is in them lol but they are good and have high protein content. Rachael: have you heard from Melissa? I have tried and tried to call her and get no answer. LOL I don't wrap presents either. I always bag them. My wrapping looks like a 3 year old did it. Lol Hope the kids are both ok. And you all have a great Christmas too. Lana: wow not long to go now is it. I bet Christmas seems a little anti climatic now doesn't it? Try to have fun with all your kids that are there. At least it will keep you occupied so the time goes fast. Did you get to go to Silver dollar city yesterday afternoon. Joe calls it Steal your dollar city .lol I will be waiting for Staceys call and wanted to tell you Merry Christmas if I don't talk to you before then. Brenda: hey I like that picture. Looks good. We may try to get to your first support meeting . Don't know that soon after Christmas and all of the expense of that. Too bad about the Cholesterol and having to go back on the meds. Mine was a little elevated but that was before surgery and she didn't put me on anything then because of the surgery. She told me o come back in 6 months and we would check it. So I guess in Feb. I will go have it checked. Certainly hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Sherr: Hope you have a good Christmas. Seems like everyone is penny poor this year. Don't know what is the cause of it but seems like it is everyone. Hope your family all gets well soon. And your son enjoys his presents. Is your dad having a going out of business sale with his store? Any good bargains. Lol Does your son live at your house or with your parents? Something you said one day made me wonder? If it is none of my business just say so lol I get nosey sometimes. Hope the truck issue is nothing major. Debbie M: glad to see you have some new pictures on your profile. Love them. Hey it doesn't matter about you not getting out the Christmas cards this year. There is always next year. Lol That is why im going the day after Christmas and buying the ones I need for next year. Then I sit down and write them out and address them and they are ready for next year lol talk about organized huh. Now if I remember to do all that again. Makes it really easy. Have a great Christmas . Barbara T: Merry Christmas, you sound as busy as I am . No I am able to make all sorts of things and don't want to sample them or anything. I made me some protein balls to keep handy so if I get hurgry while cooking I can grab one of those. Lol. Hope your Christmas with family is a great one. I hope Treece is doing ok. I don't guess she has anyone to post how she is doing. Merry Christmas Treese . She will probably come home tomorrow. Maybe she will get on and say how she is. I Hope all that are reading this are having a wonderful time getting ready for Christmas and will enjoy all their company and loved ones too. If anyone hears from Melissa please let me know. Take care I am posting this Friday night since I will hopefully sleep for awhile in the a.m. and then will be busy getting things going in the morning. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Jan - It's not Saturday yet. I think you've jumped the gun, lol. I have a busy day tomorrow, but it is all pleasurable and enjoyable stuff related to Christmas Eve Eve. I hope all of your fellow Missourians have a great holiday. I know that my family has several gifts under the tree for me, but I've already gotten one of the greatest gifts, if not the greatest gift that I could have possibly received, which is better health due to losing 140 pounds since July 11. God bless all and to all a good night. Scott

Good Morning Everyone! Just wanted to pop in and say Merry Christmas!!!! We are going to one of my seven sister n laws for dinner where most of my DH's sibling will be there. I love going there! They are all big supporters for me and make special food for just me with no sugar. Couldn't ask for more than that. They are a blessing!!!! Tomorrow we will be at one of his brother's who only lives 3 miles from us but we have been going there on Christmas eve for 30 years now. Our oldest granddaughter spends Christmas eve with us this year. We will have our son and other grandkids here on Christmas. BUSY, Busy! But we love it. Good Morning Ya'll, Yesturday was kind of a busy day. I decided I better go buy Susan's Christmas prezzies lol I HATE christmas shopping, the crowds and traffic just get on my nerves lol I keep saying every year that Im gonna do my shopping in august to avoid all that but I always end up procrastinating til the last day, least I didnt wait til the last day this time lol Walmart was so busy you'd a thought they were going outta business or something, sheesh lol We tried and tried to find something for our nephew but he's so hard to buy for, he's 12 and has everything so we decided to buy him a lil piggy bank and put some money in it so he can go get what he wants. Thats about all the christmas we were gonna buy but I did buy Susan a couple things, I'd tell ya on here but I've taught her how to come on and read the board so it'd be my luck she'd read what I bought her LoL Today Im gonna start preparing christmas dinner. We're not having anyone over or anything but are gonna go ahead and cook a turkey and small ham and the fixins and take a home cooked meal over to Susans dad. He mentioned at thanksgiving that he missed "moms" dinners, his wife died 11 yrs ago and he still remembers all the good times and good eatings, so we decided to do that this year, Im gonna make a homemade SF sweet tater pie, hopefully it'll turn out good. Jan all your goodies sound so good, I bet your kids wont be able to tell the difference from SF and regular lol we've been makin SF stuffis now and when people sample we dont even tell em LoL Julia I know what ya mean about gaining 5lbs by just reading what everyone is cooking LoL Im sooooooooooo glad it doesnt happen tho, phew, I sure wouldnt be losing any weight LoL I've heard that about vienna sausages but I never have been able to stomach them, I've watched the discovery channel to much LoL I've seen what they are made up, even tho they really are good protein LoL Rachel Im like ya'll lol I hate wrapping cuz I just cant wrap very good lol I didnt get no bags this year so it's a wrapping I go lol. Lana your time is almost here, we'll sure be praying for ya and waiting for the good word on surgery!! What a christmas prezzie!! Vesta your day is coming faster then we think. Hope ya have a good christmas!! Brenda thats a bummer about havin to go back on those meds, it seems when we take one thing it causes another, hopefully if you do go on them it wont be for long. Have a Merry Christmas. Sherr that weightloss is awesome, gurl you've sure come along way in such a short time, way to go!!!!!! Deb we sure missed ya in sedalia, hopefully things will be better that ya'll can come down next time, by then you'll be well on your way to being a big loser!!!! You too Barbara T, hopefully you can make the next get together, we had such a blast just sitting there talking and sharing, it was great. Scott I know what ya mean about getting a special gift, I feel that way too since I've just had surgery lil over a month ago, that was MY christmas for sure. Way to go on the weightloss, thats just wonderful!!!!! Barbara Scott I been using the carb count down milk for my shakes and all, so far so good. The last two mornings my sugar rings in at 110 where it has been steady at 130 so looks like thats done the trick, thanks so much for the info!!! Well Im gonna go get my shake and take my vitamins and see what kind of trouble I can get into today lol. Hope everyone has a great day. Merry Christmas and Gods Blessings on ALL, Andrew

Good Morning all.... I pray that everyone is doing good and is ready for Christmas! I see a lot weight being lost on here and I'm very happy for all of you....keep it going! Hubby got vaca. days okay'd for the 12th (my assessment appt.) and for the 26th and 27th for my surgery. He is off the 28th and 29th. He says he could work those last 2 days for overtime but he is going to keep them just in case I need a help in the days following surgery...these days are all in January just in case no one saw my post about my surgery dates. I have a bunch of pictures on my profile if you would like to see pics of the family. Jan, I added more last night. I'm glad you like em, cause I can't give em back...lol ...the family, not the pics! Thank you Andrew, it seems like I have been waiting years...lol I guess in a way I have, I started doing research on wls about 5 years ago. I pray things get better too. Just a note to everyone...I have been on here, lurking but not feeling like writing until today. Know that if you asked for prayer, it was done, if you had questions they were ones I couldn't answer, if you needed someone to lean on, I'm sorry I couldn't be there, all things happening good and bad I saw...everyone has been in my thoughts! I just want everyone to know, I care but haven't been up to par lately! Please don't be offended, hurt or think I don't care because I do. I think about all of you, daily! I care and love all of you and wish I could be their to hold your hand or be shoulder for you to lean on but I have been doing a little leaning of my own. It's a good thing that God is strong! Our middle son came over yesterday to visit me, that was a first.....it's usually him, the hubby and I. We had a nice one on one. I think he is finally growing up and wanting to put all his "uglies" behind him. I'm glad, it was a long time coming! He has been left at the altar for many years now. For those of you that don't know, he is my hubby's son, from his second marriage. The boy's mother abandoned him at her sister's house when he was 6 months old after leaving David (my now hubby) when the boy was only 3 months old. David got this son back when the boy was a year old and then I met David and the boy when he was 16 months old. David and I have been together 24 years and have raised him as well as our other children as "ours"...there were no "halves" or "steps" in our family. Roy, our middle son and I had a very strong bond for many years....so much so that God gave us matching tatooes...lol Seriously tho, right after the hubby and I got together, Roy and I both starting growing a small brown spot, almost like a freckle on the inside of our right hand, on the palm, just below the thumb. When Roy got older and he got into he "uglies stage" the spots would fade, when things got better, they would darken. Roy always said, it was his way of knowing who his "real" mom was. As for our youngest son, the one down in Springfield. He called yesterday...it was funny. He called Roy, while Roy was here but he didn't know that Roy was here talking with me and Roy has his cell phone turned up so loud that I could hear the younger boy over the phone like he was in the room with us. Last we heard, his phone had been shut off due to a very high unpaid bill so we're praying that he has found work, not another school loan! Anyway, the last contact anyone had from him was an email he sent to me, more or less, writing me off.....not wanting anything more to do with me because of my (his) behavior! He is the one in (possibly) a bunch of trouble and is being left at the altar right now! He went to Springfield, following a call to be in the ministry, met a girl and is running a muck. Anyway, he was asking Roy to be a reference for a car he is trying to get. I'm thinking, he has a car, the one my hubby co-signed for and the boy still owes approx. $2000 on. Roy, said he would and nothing more was said. Later, the hubby got home and we went out to get something to eat and rent some movies. While doing so the youngest boy, Jason called the hubbys cell phone, he was driving so he handed the phone to me. I laughed and told David who it was and he laughed. I was the last person Jason would want to talk to right then. Hubby says he would of loved to of seen the look on that boy's face when he heard it was me on the other end. When I answered the boy's voice went weak and he started studdering, he finally got ahold of himself and said nothing but "Do you guys have the title to my car?" At the moment, we couldn't think if we did or not but David said that IF we did, it would be in our safe. Jason, I guess was thinking we were home, wanted us to go look and see. I told him we would when we got home but that we were out and busy at the moment. He was like, call me when you get home so I know and said that he was trying to get a car. I asked about the one he had, he said that he found a dealer that would take his car and trade for another, that the dealer would pay off his old car loan, which means David's name would be taken off the title. That would be a "good" thing! Problem is, that Jason is wanting the title sent down there to him without us being there...would that mean he would be signing his Dad's name again? David and I talked about Jason and the situation before we were going to call him back. We got home and Jason already had the house phone ringing and had already left a message on our machine! Man, when that boy wants something, he wants it now! The phone conversation between David and Jason went well...the only problem was when David said that he would bring the title down and they would both go to the dealer to make sure David's name was to be removed off all paperwork. Jason kept naming days that he could get together with the dealer, they just happened to all be days that Jason thought his Dad worked but......because it is Christmas, David has almost the whole week off! So, David told Jason to name a day and he would be down there to help him get this all worked out. Jason said okay, that he was cleaning his car out and when he was done, he would call the dealer, get something set up and would be calling us back in a hour or so...lol That was around 5:00pm last night. The question we ask now is...was it legit or another problem for us (him)? It's in God's Hands!! It's sad if he is trying to pull something but we are praying that he is doing the right thing, not whats right for him. David and I laughed because all Jason's life he has come to me about everything, no matter what, it was always MOM, never DAD! When he calls home, he always calls my cell phone first, then the house phone, NEVER Dad's phone! Yesterday when that call came in on Dad's cell and nothing was on mine, we knew the last voice he wanted to heard was the first one he got! The Good Lord does have a sense of humor!! Love & Prayers to All, Deb M

Good morning Missouri..... Well the bag idea went out the window because my husband wants to wrap....we kinda make it a routine on Christmas eve after the kids go to bed.....so I had to go get some wrapping paper and tags.....oh well that is just quality time him and I will spend together tomorrow night.... I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.....Everyone be safe with travels if you are traveling and all in all be safe.....Remember "He is the reason for the season." No I have not heard from Melissa but the last I talked to her see was doing good and had the ok to travel so maybe she went down to see her family....I will try and call her today and if I get an answer I will post..... Today is a busy day for me....we have a man coming to measure my front door so that we can get a new screen door next week...our little aluminum one has finally bit the dust....I have been cleaning already and got a load of laundry in the washer as well as the dryer and I have got one load put away.....I have to get to the post office and get everyones cards mailed sorry they might be a little late but it has been one heck of a week with work and sick children.....Thank goodness my kids are better.... I also am going to make some cookies for the prior service soldiers that did not get to go home to be with their families for Christmas....My sister, mother and a friend of ours is going to take them a big care package.....cookies, dip, chips, hot wings, stromboli and some other things.....I truly believe that God has given each and everyone of us a special desire to help those who are less fortunate and that is why we have chosen to give these soldiers the food that we would usually share on Christmas eve......So all in all I have a very busy day ahead of me.....and trying to keep my 10 month old entertained while trying to get my chores done....and staying after my 8 year old to get his chores done......Wish me luck.....lol..... God bless to everyone and you families.... Rachael Medinger

Dashing through the snow in a one horse open sleigh, o'er the fields we go laughing all the way Good morning Jan and Missouri Family Thought I would do a little singing this morning, it is such a great day to be alive. I was sitting here remembering this time last year I couldn't hardly walk and breath at the same time and now I can get about very well. The other day me and my DH were in Sam's Club walking around, no money to buy anything and this is one of the places I would have to ride in one of those motorized carts, well I didn't realize how fast I was walking until my DH said, "slow down I can hardly keep up with you." Of course that was a WOW moment for me Anyway I just wanted to share that with you all today, what a difference WLS has made in my life in just a very short time. Jan I was up until about 3:00 AM this morning working on my book, so there is hope for me yet I have another full day ahead of me and I had best get started on it. I made a Red Velvet cake for a young lady at my church so I'm going to deliver that to her today, and her car broke down so I am going Christmas day and bring her over to have dinner with me and my family and then terrorize everyone with my singing Well everyone have a MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS. God bless you all! Barbara T. in KC

Hi all, Yes Jan I live in the apts. But I am going to meet with a potential buyer in an hour. I hope it goes thru. I met with board pres. yesterday and if they don't get a buyer we will be shut down. This guy did tell the pres. he wanted to keep me on at least for now. I would like to move to Sedalia but will wait to see how this goes. If I don't keep the job, Oh well I plan on going back to nursing as soon as I have surgery and Dr. says it's OK so I am not worried.I am more worried like everyone else here as to whether and when I can have surgery so the 3rd of Jan will tell.Darrell and I have worked things out and he is living here and helping me. My sister moving to her own apt. has helped tremendously. She is the type of person that if she isn't happy she doesn't want anyone to be happy and she has caused a lot or I should say all the problems Darrell and I had a while ago.She won't even try to mend things with her 2 daughters and says she is going to have Christmas alone. So there is no pleasing everyone this year.I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and remember it's not the money that counts only the love of the reason for the season. Julia
