WHATS HAPPENING FRIDAY

Friday and all is well with the world. Another week down the tubes and the Christmas vacation is upon us. I know some of you that work Monday -Friday were glad to see this Friday come around. Now to finish up those last minute items and things huh? Yesterday was such a beautiful day. Joe and I dug up the last of the yellow mums and planted them on the back side of the guest house. Then we worked to dirt in the annual bed and added some compost to it. Should be good and ready for pretty annuals this next spring. Will have all winter to break down and get good and rich. Tomorrow will be Christmas with my son and his wife and family. They couldn't come down on Christmas day so they are coming down tomorrow for Christmas. The rest of the family is coming down Christmas day. I made two pumpkin rolls yesterday and made them with splenda. I told everyone that one is made with Splenda and the other with Sugar. So I will just take a small piece off the Splenda one lol. They both are made with splenda. Even the cream cheese icing is made with splenda. So there is no sugar at all in them. Also made an orange date nut cake with splenda. It didn't rise nearly as well as they normally do.; will splenda cause that? I got the mums that Vesta brought me Monday night planted in the green house. So hopefully I can get them growing before spring. After Christmas I am going to get me several bags of potting soil so I can get my seeds started. I am so anxious to do that this year. Like a special treat. Barbara T: how are you this wonderful morning in the Lord? Wasn't yesterday beautiful. Did you work on your book yesterday? I too am looking for a job. And I was going to get my nursing lic renewed and go back to work as a nurse but I just can't make myself do it for some reason. I am going to get a job but just don't want all that stress if I can keep from it. Too much responsibility. I am past wanting a career just want a little paycheck lol Rachael: that would be wonderful if you could come to our support meeting next month. You just don't know how much fun we have. Lol. It is an awesome group. Hope you little girl is better with the pink eye. That is good that they allow them to come to work with you. Not a lot of places that will allow that you know. No I haven't heard from Melissa. I wish she would get online once in awhile. I hope she isn't feeling badly again. Lana: hey girlfriend. 3 more days....wow. Not long now. Well did Dr. Edwards and your PCP have any last minute advice for you? It is ok to sound self absorbed for the next few days. It is all about you and no one else. So don't worry you are ok. Lol Love you and will be waiting for the phone call Tuesday. Vesta: you do know that with Dr. Hornbostel you don't have to be on a clean liquid diet but for one day before surgery don't you? Something you said made me think you might have thought you were on a clear liquid for a week or so. I guess it wouldn't hurt but you don't have to. I'm excited for you too. I know you will do just fine. A lot of people to pray for continually Brenda: lol on getting a smaller room in June. Hey I thought maybe we could have a picnic instead of going to a rest. What you think? We could all bring something I guess or just food for ourselves. What you think? Hey that sounds great about your support meeting. Maybe we could load up a van and come your way for your first meeting? Lol Yeah I know what you mean about still seeing a fat girl, I do too. I wonder when that will if ever cease? Well if I could think of anything bad to say about you I would and see if you caught me.lol Oh yeah congratulations on all the weight you have lost that is wonderful. Diana: Yes we will all most certainly pray for your son in law to find work again quickly. This is a bad time of the year to be looking but hopefully he will be able to find something. Did his Job not help him find something again? That is too sad. Sure hope your daughter doesn't forgo getting all her clinical in. Sherr: I would gladly put up another picture if I could ever get it sized right. I have tried and tried. My daughter is coming down on Christmas and will get her to take a picture for me and put it up for me. Lol she is really good with that sort of stuff or she can show me how and then when I get a good one. I have so many wrinkles now I hate to show it lol Way to go on your weight loss. How many pounds does that make all together now? You sure are going to catch up with me. What are you doing to lose it so fast? I am lucky if I lose 2 to 3 pounds a week now. Tell Lucky we all said hi and wish she would post on here some. That bread you made sounds good. I make an orange date nut cake but never heard of pumpkin orange date nut bread. Sounds very good. And apple pie strudel bread that sounds great too. How are your parents doing? Better or worse? Oh did you see where Brenda is starting up a support group in Fredericktown. Have you gotten to know the other lady that lives in Kennett that is on this board? Maybe you all could car pool up to Fredericktown once a month for support meeting. Would be really good if you could. Julia: nice to see you popped in. lol love your since of humor. I see congratulations are in order for 3 of our newest losers. Treece, Valerie, and Crystal. Welcome to the losers bench. Andrew: It sure didn't rain over here yesterday got up to about 58 and sunny very beautiful too. Yeah the mums will be very pretty next spring. Just remember to keep them cut back to about 6 to 8 inches tall no taller till about the fourth of July then you can let them grow. Andrew have you seen the pictures I have on my website of my garden? If not go to the www. Under my name, you know down there where it says profile and such. It has loads of pictures of a lot of my flowers. Oh Fredericktown is defiantly on our list of travel sites for the summer. Since we were both born and I was raised there. Sugar only lived there till she was about 5 I think it was but I lived there until I graduated from high school and went off to school. Hope you enjoyed your chili. I have been eating chili since the week they released me off of pureed foods lol good food with lots of protein. With the beans and meat too. Dannielle: great to see you on the board and yes be sure and keep us all updated on the senate bill 97 which is to force all insurance companies to pay for obesity surgery. Hope your leg is getting better and that you can make it to next months meeting. Oh if you want something from my brother's collection I can get you a big discount from those prices on that web site. From him directly. Won't be those pieces exactly because he makes only one of a kind pieces but he has lots and lots of them at his home in Shell Knob. Just let me know. Not trying to sell anything here just wanted you all to see his work and let you know that I can get all of it cheaper than those prices. ]Well I am going to post this Thursday night rather than wait until the middle of the night. Hello all, I think I gain 5 pounds everytime I read these posts and drool because all this stuff you all make sounds so good!!! I saw cardio Dr. Thursday, he laughed and told me never to come back!! that WLS was going to be the best thing for me and that he would rather just see me at work back at the hospital. So I felt good after that.He did say that always remember he would be there for me if something did happen though. I have all my Christmas presents done, even got my laundry caught up.So now I am trying to catch up on some paper work for the apt. complex. I was summoned by the President of the Board to review some things. I am wanting them to take this job and %$#@%&*(&^$@@$&**%$## but I'll be nice. I am trying to get them to consider a management company to take over. We can't keep up financially with rents being 1970's rate and everything else being 2006!! So my headache continues.It's hard to believe the first day of winter was almost 60 today! now that's crazy Julia

Here' some interesting food for thought. Did you know a can of veinna sausage is 12 1/2 grams of protein!!! I love those crazy things and was label reading the other day when I saw this. Sure beats baby food in my book!. But then I have always been a little bit weird. Julia

Good Friday Morning Missouri...... Another day another penny here at work....believe it or not I have some new prior soldiers come in last night.....It is never ending.....Hopefully today we will have a half day.....my son is here with me until 1000 and then he is going to a Christmas dinner at the Sheltered Workshop where him and my dad volunteer....and I have to pick up my little girl by 1230 because the daycare is closing.....So I guess this afternoon I will be cleaning the house that so desperately needs it....my laundry has overtaken me once again.... I hope that everyone has a blessed day and a very Merry Christmas.....I hopefully will be posting some more this weekend.....I still need to go get some bags to put my gifts in.....I don't feel like wrapping this year..... For those of you that are traveling please be careful and I will pray traveling mercies for you...... I have about 25 of my prior service soldiers that didn't get to go home for the holidays so my sister and I are going to try and make them some extra stuff and bring it to them on Christmas day.....Some of them even have children and spouses that they won't be able to see....This is the season for giving..... Happy Friday before Christmas everyone, Yesterday was great but it's cooler and cloudy today in Springfield. John and the kids got back from KC airport after I went to bed last night and I didn't even hear him get into bed. Guess I was worn out from seeing Doctors. My PCP said that right after surgery he anticipates taking me off 4 or 5 meds, WOO HOO!!! Then tapering off some more. I am still having problems with terribly upset stomach in the AM, thought it was milk so used Silk, soy milk, and EGG protein to make my shake and still had the run to the bathrooms!!! I guess it has to be the many many pills. If I wasn't going to be off so many of them so soon I'd start experimenting with taking them at different times but it's not worth is for three days!!! I made Susan Maria's baked custard last night and like it alot except I thought it was too sweet so I'll cut back on the Splenda next time. Not unedible, just sweeter than I like. SF popcicles are the bomb. Love them too much. Hope to get off work early today and maybe go down to Silver Dollar City for a couple of hours after dark. We'll just have to see. Hugs and love to all and if I don't get to post over the weekend, have a great Christmas and I'll see you on the other side of my surgery. Good Afternoon, Hey Jan a picnic sounds good to me. I think it would be great if some of you guys would come to our first support meeting!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm somewhat ticked off today, my PCP called me yesterday evening and said he wanted to start me back on my Cholesterol medicine. My overall cholesterol is 199 which is great but my bad cholesterol is like 70 points to high. This is a problem I've had for over 20 years. My bad is to high and my good is to low. The first doctor that discovered this said it was due to family heredity not being fat ( at that time I wasn't over weight). So once again you can't outrun your family genes!!!!!!! I hate having to go back on the med because of the liver problems associated with it. Right now with being off of cholesteral med. for 4 months I still have elevated liver enzymes. Well I got to get moving and get things ready for the holiday. We had to go to the funeral home last night for a man that used to come to our church and tonight we have to go to visitation for a lady who was a member of our church and tomorrow DH has to preach her funeral. Momma J & Co: Well, make sure daughter fixed you up....you look T-o-t-a-l-l-y different, it's amazing how all the MO WLS Post OPS look totally different!!! And all in GREAT WAYS! I was 278 a week or so before surgery, and today I am 204, trying to get to 199 by New Year's Eve....so that's 74 pounds. I measure to and have lost 48.25 inches.... HOLY COW! ****Grrlz INFO ONLY ALERT****** I am TOM starting today, and still lost .5 a pound which blew me away, I feel "fluffy" to put in kindly. LOL I have really gotten to know "Lucky" and her family is so wonderful. They all went to Florida for Xmas and I can't wait to hear about it when she gets back. Both my parents have the flu, and Mom seems worse than Dad. Daddy is still working, tho he did take most of Tuesday off, and came home and slept all day. He has decided to close down his appliance/tv store and it's going out of business this month. So he feels he MUST be there everyday...even tho he has a store manager. He is going in for knee surgery the first on January, a date hasn't been set yet, but it should be the first week of Jan. Money has been so incredibly non-existent, I don't think I can afford to make the "3 month meeting" on 1/8/07 in Columbia. My "engine" lite came on my truck this week, and I have NO money to even have the dealership test it out. It could just be an emissions issue, but it could be as bad as the motor going, and I am out of warranty now. So it's a very difficult time for me money wise. I was able to buy Dylan a couple of things for Christmas, so I feel good about that. But NOTHING like it used to be for him. He's a great kid, and I know he will be thankful for whatever I give him...thank god.... Sorry to ramble....a lot is on my mind, and I AM doing the whole "pms" thing now...lol...sorry boyz. Hey all....welcome back to those that traveled to Sedalia, I take it by your posts that you had a great time there. Great pics too! Just thought I would stop by and say "MERRY CHRISTMAS" I don't have much to say, been busy around the house! I got all your Christmas cards and I thank you all sooo very much! They all did my ol heart some good! I'm sorry tho, I didn't get mine out this year! I did tho, get some new photos up of me and my family so I hope you enjoy them!
