My brothers RNY
My brother, Chris had his surgery Tuesday in St. Louis, and is doing really great! He spent his first night in ICU due to wearing a C-pap at night. The next day he went to a regular room, and got all his "fun" test to check for leaks...remember those? The blue ice and lemon drink that did not taste like lemon at all? He passed, and even got that wonderful catheter out. He was more scared of that then the actual surgery. He is not off Morphine and the Qpump for pain and on liquid pain meds. He said he actually walked 3 laps yesterday around the floor. They said he will probably go home today, and I am looking forward to seeing him. I have been nervous for him, just because I know all he will go through, but I am glad he did it for him. He has wanted this for 2 years. He knows what to expect, and I am glad I can help him with all of it. He and Saundra said the meeting helped him more than he could say, and I feel the same. I am amazed at how wonderful everyone there is, and I don't feel so alone anymore. Thank you to everyone! I think they plan to come to other meetings as do I. I may actually get my boyfriend to come too. I hope everyone is well, and has a great christmas!
Monique,
I am so glada to hear that Chris did great. I thought he would. His co-morbids were not horrible. I have five more days and they I'll be joining you. See you next month at the meeting. We all need to keep supporting one another. That's what makes it work!!! Hugs and love and tell Chris and Saundra "HI".

actually Vesta he made the statement that when he was taking his oral percocet that it was too much at one time. When they brought him his tray of jello, juice and broth he only took a few sips of each, and was too full. That is the way it is after surgery...and I wi**** still was. Thanks for the compliment...I am blushing!
Monique,
So glad to get the update on Chris. Jess and I were thinking about him.
It's wonderful that he is doing good.
We enjoyed meeting Chris and Saundra so much at the Circle of Friends support group Monday night. We could tell Chris is quite a card. We got such a kick out of him.
I know Saundra and you are relieved too, for him to have the surgery behind him.
There will be a big difference in him already by the next cof meeting in January.
We'll be looking for the 3 of you.....and your boyfriend too.
Take care,
Glenna
