liquid dieting
Hello everyone,
Im back and seemed to be very hungry. I am post op as of the 12th. This liquid diet really bites the big one,man how long is this misery goin to take so i can have a bite of something. I am glad to be back with you all and Julia thank you for the call while i was in the hospital. Well,if you have any ideal how much longer for this liquid misery and do you think by the the 25th will i be able to try anything on the dinner table

when do you go back to see Dr. Hornbostel? He will then tell you what you can have next. It is not even a week sence your surgery. Remember your pouch is still very raw and new and needs to be fed like a new born baby. Next you will go onto pureed foods and you will be able to have stuff that is mashed to smithereens. Do you have a white booklet that you were given before surgery? there is a list in there. of what and when.
Glad you are feeling well enough to get up to the computer now. Be sure and start walking some first a block and then more. Take it easy and slow on the eating. Jan
Hi Jan,
I got an appt with DH on the 21st. Yes, I also got 3 or 4 white pages of something like that, and im first stage until i meet with him and thats two weeks post op.Then i will be on stage two, whatever that consist with lol.maybe stage two will be better. I have been trying to do the best on the walking thing, even tho im disable with a lower back problem.I know you are right about taking it slow and easy.Thankyou Jan and im soo glad to hear from you again, Godbless. Tony
Stage two you get to add your protein drinks mixed with milk if you want too. can be 1%, skim or soy . also creamed soups but if they have any chunkes in them you have to blend it first, yogurt , mashed potatoes that are real creamy. cream of wheat. stuff like that. you have to eat this stuff for weeks 2 and 3 . please dont ru**** just keep getting in all of your water that you can . how are you doing on that? has the heavy hurting spot in the new pouch area lessened any?
I can commisorate, lol. I also had my surgery on the 12th. I am on liquids for 3 weeks, then will be on pureed, etc (stuff that you don't have to chew) for the next 3 weeks after that. Boy, after being on the 10 day liquid diet preoperatively, it seems like forever since I have had solid food. I am looking forward to Jan 23rd, when I get to eat "real" food again. Debbie
the left side hurts because that is where your old stomach is and and where they cut off the little new stomach from.lol That was the only thing that hurt me too at all but that wasnt too bad i didnt think...so how are you doing other than that. ? we were worried about you for awhile ..but sure glad you came thru . Jan
