Lana, I am sooo glad to hear of your daughter's good fortune. I hope everyone will be happy. Very sorry to hear about your back.....is it an injury or arthritis? I know arthritis in you back seems too hard to over come. But, this surgery will help you so much! Since I was a small child I have been "eaten up" with degenerative arthritis, and my upper back has been unbearable, so days I used to think I could not handle the pain one more day.... I do not take ANY pain meds now, none. I am still in pain, don't get me wrong, but it is more of a low dull type pain, not the shards of glass, take my breathe away, shooting pain....I hope with all hopes that you have the same kind of luck, and our friend Deb does to, for her pain, after your surgeries. I am about 10 weeks out and realized this week, "HEY, my joint pain is not bad at ALL!" lol ----Okay, I AM BLONDE YA KNOW....lol Love, Sherr

Good Evening Everyone, Just thought i'd stop in quick and say "Hi" I've had kind of a busy day today. It started off on the wrong foot tho lol. About 7am the power went off, they still dont know why but the whole road here was off. Ended up getting a dark shower lol and leaving here around 9am, still no power. We ran some errands, I checked into Nursing School today Being that I'm on disability there's a program I can be a part of that will send me to school to help me get off disability. I wanted to start early cuz hopefully this time next year I'll be down enough I can go back to work again That went really well and I have an appt after christmas to meet with a case worker of Voc-Rehab to get the ball rolling on going to school. This weekend is angel food distribution so I had to go over to the church and set up for that. I still have a couple months worth of it in my freezer so none for us this time lol. Jan I'm really excited about meeting ya'll too. Yeah we're not gonna tell no one we're coming to the Monday support group, just gonna surprise em LOL. So if ya'll are going to the springfield support group on monday, dont read this LOL. Susan has already got our bags out ready to pack lol. Dontcha worry bout ya place not being perfect, a bed to lay my head is all I need, well an outhouse too LoL. Yeah I know 30lbs is a good start and all, I just thought I'd do more then that the first month but then my wife keeps reminding me that I lost 77lbs before surgery so I'm still ahead of the game, silly me lol. Brenda Im really excited to have a support group near us, we're driving to Springfield on Monday to attend the support group there so hopefully I can help ya with some idea's when we get to chat on tuesday. Jan is letting us stay at her bed and breakfast that night then we'll drive on up to sedalia tuesday morning for my one month appt. cant wait to see ya's. Deb Im just so excited for ya finally getting your date. I read where you asked about where to go and all on both dates. When ya get to the hospital go in the front doors like ya did for the seminar but make a right, go down that hall and you will run into Day Surgery, thats where ya check in for ya pre-op stuff, be sure to take your notebook Dr. H gave ya plus the blue assesment envelope ya got in the mail. Thats also where you'll check in for surgery. The people there were so niceeee. You'll meet with several people at your assesment before ya finally get to go. Plus thats where I met Margie, she knows the routine there and will find ya. Any questions ya have write em down cuz they all will answer anything ya ask em. WTG gurl Treece wtg on havin ya surgery soon. You think ya feel good now, just wait til after surgery and you've recovered and on your way to losing, you'll wake up one morning and think you've been shot with an energy beam LoL Im one month post-op today and gosh I feel soooooooooooo good. We'll be prayin for ya on thursday!!! Well Im gonna go get me a protein shake and clean some of the house so its all neat when we leave on monday, the wife has to work all weekend so I'll be a good hubby lol actually she left another hunny do list with the stuff i didnt finsh the other day LOL Bless ya'll Andrew

Hey Jan and All Been sulking most of the afternoon because my brakes on our SUV went out Wednesday and I had to take it to the shop this morning and wow there will be no Christmas presents this year I'm so thankful they didn't go out Tuesday when we had to make that trip to Sedalia. I think I'm doing pretty good, they weighed me in at 267.8 and Dr. H. says that I'm doing excellent. I was concerned because sometimes it seems that I am at a stand still and then "whosh" everything comes out and I drop some more weight off When I was at my PCP's on 11-29-06 I weighted 266 and I'm doing things right so it maybe just a little water weight. But from the first of the year I was at 339, when I first saw Dr. H. in May I was 322, and here it is December and I'm under 300 lbs (been so long), so I'm doing good, thanks for asking. I know my clothes are hanging off of me and that feels good my next appointment is January 10th at 1:00 PM and I'm praying for good weather because I hate driving in the snow and rain because my eyes have suffered some damage due to the diabetes and I do really well in the daytime but not so good at night anymore. Well I'm through pouting now and guess I'll clean my extra bedroom up and do some writing on my book tonight. God bless everyone, and pre-ops your days are getting shorter "hhhhooorrrrrraaayyy" ;thumbsup: Everyone have a great Friday night Barbara T.
