Pain and misery!!
Hi all. I stepped out my door tonite to take my son-in-law's birthday present to him. It felt like my right knee exploded!!
I couldn't hardly get to my car to go to my daughter's house. I tried to elevate it in hopes I just twisted it or something but I couldn't stand on it after awhile. My son-in-law dug out a walker out of the garage and took me to ER. They said they think the Baker's cyst I had in my knee ruptured and now I have to see an orthopedic surgeon.
:I see my pcp in am. They gave me Lortab and sent me home. He said it could be the cartilage or tendons but I need an MRI when they can get it scheduled tommorrow.I am hoping it is just the cyst and it will take a few days of rest and meds to clear it up. I definitely don't want to mess my chance of WLS as soon as I can.I have had knee surgery on the left before about 13 1/2 years ago and they told me I would be confined to a wheelchair in less than 10 years and I beat those odds. But this is not like then. So only time will tell. On the good side I got a couple of Christmas presents bought today before this happened. I have the most wonderful son-in-law in the world and tonite when my pain meds kicked in I had him convinced to go to Wal-Mart with me and have electric wheel chair races!!
But I told him I will just go home instead. Bless his heart he would have taken me though.
He just laughs and tells everyone his mother-in-law is crazy
and He's not far from the truth.
Julia

OH wow - I feel for you Julia, my husband has Baker's cyst's and I know what you're going through...
We hope you're better by the 19th and can get your son-in-law to drive you to the meeting with your walker...
We'll help you get your dinner!
You are still in my prayers - I'll just add an addendum.

Hi Vesta - (what a beautiful Name!)
Nope I haven't had my WLS yet - I only went to the Sept. Seminar and had my first consult the 6th of this month so.... I'm playing the waiting game like so many of us on here.... with all the new surgery dates - it kind of gets depressing doesn't it? I mean I'm happy for all of them of course, but.... oh I want this surgery to be over with so badly. I'm the one (lady) with the broken back who can't drive cause I take some super heavy duty narcotics to help me get through the worst of the day. I had a morphine pump removed last August cause I want this surgery so badly I'd do anything or put up with almost any kind of pain just to be considered eligible. I'm paying for it now.. sigh. Such is life huh? So how far along are you in the process? You sound a lot like me some times on the posts. Are you coming to the dinner next week? I'd love to meet you.. Please forgive me if I don't recognize you though cause it depends on how my drugs are treating me at any point in time. Where do you live?
I'm near Clinton on Hwy 7 going to Tightwad and Warsaw... I've only lived here since April and since I can't legally drive (most of the time) I don't know Anyone. sigh. Darned Holidays are hard on people aren't they? I have 4 kids who moved far away from home the minute they could haha One in Alaska, one in Colorado, and two in MO but only one son near by.... and he's chronicly busy with his business. But I do have DH (Dear Husband) nearby - he retired from working in the prison system in Oct and moved down here last month. So... that's my story in a nutshell - what's yours?

Hugs to you my dear sweet Julie. I know your knee was bothering you when we were at Dr. H's office. I am praying for you to get better and I will call you later tonight after my free minutes start. Love you bunches and I will talk to you tonight!!! Keep your head up hun. If a blizzard didn't stop me from getting your surgery, I don't think you will let this prevent you from getting it.!!!
