Question for Dr Horbostel patients:

I am curious to know... has anyone thats pre-op that had a consultation with Dr H with in the time frame of Oct 18 to now already have their surgery date? I have been waiting since Oct 18 for my date....and I see Marylin below seen him on Nov 29 and already has a potential date, so thats one. Anyone else have one or are still waiting? Im confused and frustrated on whats the holdup with my date. Dr H said Id hear from them within 10 days, that time has come and gone a long time ago. I have called Dena several times and she says its the hospital they are waiting on. I asked if its my insurance holding it up and she says no it isnt that. So what is it?? This is driving me nuts!!! I am trying to be really nice and give the benefit of the doubt, but I dont understand and I feel like Im getting the run around. Sorry to vent on here but my frustration is really building up- talk about panic attacks!! Wow!! Any suggestions??

Robin, I had my consult with Dr. H. on Oct. 11th and got my date in November. I had my assesment on Nov. 27th and had my surgery Dec. 1st. I have no idea what is holding you up. It could be the hospital not sending the information needed to the insurance, the insurance holding you off, and a host of other things. Have faith. I have fought for my surgery for over a year and finally got it. It was not the fault of Dr. H.'s office though. They are on top of their game. Last year, when I was denied, I placed all the blame on them for it taking so long. I know how you feel when it comes to the waiting game. I hated my wait, but it will come and go faster than you think. Keep your head up hun, we are all rootin for ya!!!

I'd call back and ask exactly what the problem is and if there is anything you can do to speed up the process.Then I'd ask who you need to call at the hospital and start on them. What do they say? The squeeky wheel gets the oil. It's better than sitting back not knowing anything. Good luck and I'll pray for you. Dannielle

Robin, I went to Dr. H's seminar on July 4th, consult on Aug. 30...still waiting on a surgery date! Are you have RNY, Lap Band, other? Deb M.

I am RNY. Wow your having quite a delay too- are you Medicare also? have you called to ask Dena what in the world is going on? I have called before and have always gotten generic answers. I am calling tomorrow tho and I want some answers!!
