I've got a date - well sort of

I am still in shock . . . I had my consult with Dr. Hornbostel on November 29th and Dena had given me a few more things do to - like get a letter from my PCP. I had a previous referral, but she thought it would help to get a letter supporting the surgery. I have that appointment Monday. But . . . on Thursday Dena called me and said she went ahead and submitted the request to BCBS and they had already called back with the approval --- I was totally floored. Then she said how about January 12th for a date? What you say, I said of course! I had figured it would be at least March, but had hoped for February, but this is so quick I was stunned. Then Dena called back an hour later and said how about January 9th. I said either was fine and she said not to make firm plans until I heard from Margie but --- OMG - either way it won't be long. It took me about a day and a half to process the reality that I had a date and to review all my thoughts and decisions and to overcome my anxiety. This morning I reviewed by notebook material from the hospital and I AM READY! I so excited to begin my journey!

Marilyn you are going the same day i am, I am the early one so I guess you are the later one, maybe they will put us close tog.I have to be there at 6:00 am..pray for me I will be praying for you...God bless....vesta

Vesta - yours is the 12th right? Since they changed it on me, but did not confirm, I'm not sure when it will be. I would prefer the 12th since it is a Friday and hubby would get time off easier. If we do end up in at the same time, that would be great. We can walk together!!

Vesta - when is your appointment to go over your pre-admission stuff?

Marilyn my surgery is the 9th, I go up the 28th of this mo for my tests blood work and etc. It sure would be nice if we could be their at the same time.....vesta

Oh, the 9th, ok. Well I am hoping they call me back this coming week and firm it up, which day it will be. I'll push for the 9th.
