Plain water.........
I woke up just a few minutes ago not feeling to bad at all. Granted, I would have LOVED to have slept in. DH woke me up before I was ready. I am sitting here now enjoying my fisr cup of coffee (cleared by Dr. H.) and so far, it is pretty damn good!! Pardon my speech, please. I am so excited to be off of the clear liquids. I am feeling so much better now that I have quit drinking plain water. I am still drinking the flavored water and my juice. I am glad I got that fixed. Now it is time to get started with my day. I have a ton of schoolwork to get caught up on. Hugs to all...
Kat i still cant drink plain water it taste like metal. all i have drank since surgery is flavored waters. or crystal light. does the same thing just make sure it is sugar free.
no cal. no sugar. etc.
is your coffee decaf? caffinated will only dehydrate you more. but if you just drink one cup i dont think it will make a big difference.
Glad you are feeling better. i knew you would it is just a matter of time. after all it was major surgery. Jan
Jan, the coffee was regular. I told Dr. H. that I had no caffine at all since my surgery. He said it was ok to have a LITTLE. He said DO NOT over do it. He also told me it will help break the caffine addiction and so I won't get the caffine headaches. All I could drink was one cup and I couldn't drink anymore. Took me a full hour to get it down. I put a little splenda and a tad bit of milk in it. I drank it really slow and had to heat it up a few times, but I did it, and it felt wonderful. I also had a medium egg for breakfast (around 8 am) and then for lunch I had a little bit of pureed squash. Now that was yummy too. As for my liquids, I am doing just fine as long as it is not regular water. I need to go get more flavored water, but right now I am drinking a glass (well, rather one of my kids cups) of skim milk. I also got some of those Atkins shakes. Those are pretty good, but not a lot of flavor. I took a few sips of that and put it back in the fridge. I have so many "leftovers" in the fridge that it takes up its own little corner. The options seem ENDLESS!!!
Kat your such a riot lol Im so happy your feeling much better. I knew you would after you were able to start stage two lol. The possibilies are endless of what you can eat, just take it one item at a time to make sure your lil pouch likes it. So far I havnt found anything that my pouch dont like, I dunno if thats good or bad lol. Just be sure to eat slow, when I started out on stage 2 I ate a bit to fast and it certainly didnt like that. I didnt get sick but I could tell that was a NO NO. It's hard changing my eating habits like that but it's sure getting better. Keep up the good work gurl!!
Andrew
I'm glad you think I'm a hoot. I am trying to make the best of a not so good (but not bad) situation. I am so scared of getting sick that it will take me a long time to eat anything. When I had my tomato soup last night, I would put my spoon in it and just lick it. I wouldn't take an actual bite. I can still taste it, and feel it going down, but it is easier that way. I haven't found it to hard to change the habits. The hardest part was the liquid stage (which might have gone a bit better if I had known tha****er made me sick). Now that I am past that, I am doing just fine. SOOOOO thankful the hard part is over!!!!
Hi Andrew my name is Gretta and I just wanted to introduce myself to you. YOu seem like a really cool dude. I am 32 and a wife and mother of three, I am a substitute teacher. I am scheduled for surgery on the 11th of January and it seems kindof unreal. Well I am going to be going to the Golden Corral get together so I hope to meet you then
Gretta
Hi ya Gretta it's really nice to meetcha. I know what ya mean about your upcoming surgery seeming unreal, it was like that for me until I was being wheeled into the operating room and then I told Mike the anethesiologist to pinch me lol he actually did LoL. Thats awesome your coming to the Golden Corral on the 19th, I cant wait to meetcha and all the others that will be there, it's gonna be a great time of fellowship for sure!!!
Take care Gurl,
Andrew
Gretta for me No Caffeine is a lifetime change. Dr. Hornbostel said if i NEED it then I could have it but with past problems of having high blood pressure and water retention I chose to stay off it, boy did I have a time coming off the caffeine tho, yikes! lol I never was a coffee drinker tho, I just loveeeeee my teaaaaa, esp iced tea lol since WLS i've become a hot tea drinker cuz I get cold so easy lately.
Happy Trails,
Andrew
