Back from seeing Dr. Hornb.

Hi guys - what a long Day!! Wow. We got there around 2:45 pm and waited around until almost 3 something - he was really running way behind, since we were his last patient. We didn't get out of there until almost 5:00pm and then add on an hours drive home, around the lakes.... the deer are really runnin rampant this year..... I was so nervous... honestly. He didn't say NO to my surgery, but has to get Medicare clearance first. I got my Binder though... I've done almost everything on the list Except get the binder... so now I'll work my way through that. I'm still praying they can get me in soon... I had all my paperwork and signitures sent in before I got there. He just needs clearance and one other record from one of my surgeries in Chillicothe. I'll keep yall posted on what I hear. I'm a smilin lady tonight! whew! Pat B.

Pat, Sounds like you are on your way. I was also Medicaire and I have secondary ins. also. It took only one week for Medicaire to approve me and it was about 6 weeks till I had surgery. By the way, I live in Concordia, and you in Clinton. Do you ever come to warrensburg? We could meet some day for lunch if you want to?Let me know. Colette

Colette - Thanks for the offer to met up with me one day.... it's so hard for me because I'm on such powerful narcotic's I can't drive when I want to. That has been the hardest thing for me to give up - but I figure when I scare myself driving that's when I should STOP. So I did. Maybe if I get this surgery and don't have so much pressure on my low back I won't have to take these pain pills anymore... then sure I'd love to come up to Warrensburg and meet with you. I'm hoping to get to the Golden Coral meeting on Dec 19th - if you are going I hope I'll meet you then. Pat B

Hi Robin - yeah thanks, He IS a great guy... I was just psyching myself out... I do that. I'm not sure he knew what to do about me I was telling him all the reasons I needed this surgery and how bad I want to get it done YESTERDAY!!! He told me I was preaching to the Choir he thought this would really help my shattered back with not having this big ole belly hangin off the front side pullin all my nerves cattywampuss and making me crazier with pain than a person should be in. I just don't think I'd be able to make it if he didn't agree.... these drugs make me so depressed I'm a scary individual sometimes. Thanks for the shout out! Pat B.

I know what you mean about waiting for your doctor and a long drive home. I live in the middle of no where. It takes me a half an hour to get to a Walmart for heaven's sake!!! Sending lots of prayers that it happens quickly for you. ~Diana~
