Saturday...today is ...
Saturday...today is my granddaughters wedding shower in Republic and i cant get in to be with them. Between the weather and my truck acting up i am afraid to try it.
She is getting married on New Years Eve. isnt that something? I guess you could always remember your wedding day that way. lol
She is only 19 i hope she knows what she is doing. The boy is only 19 also. they are so young , too young to my way of thinking but it isnt up to me . Im just the old grandma lol
Well Kat will have a lot to tell about her surgery wont she. Just the getting there is the biggest story.
Julia you opening your home to them is just so neat , the real meaning of Christian hospitality.
Debbie M: no name still for the bird. well that is just unheard of ...ok guys give Debbie some idea for names. She is stumped for a name.
Hard to hear those words from our kids isnt it , when all we wanted to do is protect them but in a way he is right , it is his life let him live it, i learned too that ok it is yours life, live it but learn to deal with the mistakes you make on your own too then. Seems they always want to live their own life but when they mess up they want us to fix it. After many years i have learned not to do that.
Julia : did you hear anymore about Kat? Thanks for all you do girl.
Sherr: are you staying still covered in your elect blanket. I am thinking about getting one of those. I freeze so much all the time.
Collett: did your son make it to the airport on time? was his flight canceled? a lot of them were i think.
Dont get out on the roads until they have been cleared some ok.
Vesta: yeah we got cheated on all the neat looking snow didnt we? I would have much rather had the snow than all the ice we got.
Rachael: hey good new about the scale moving again. Glad to see you decided you wasnt getting out in this stuff and stayed home. would be way to bad to get out and get stuck with your little girl in the car.
Brenda: glad you are home after your horrible trip to St. Louis and back yesterday.
always stressful to get caught in something like that.
I sent an email to Karen S, telling her she was welcome to our get together but havent heard anything from her.
I called Golden Corral today and they said they had a room available that would be fine for everyone to meet and have supper in. So dont actually need a head count but will be nice anyway. we can have the room from 6pm till they close at 9pm. so we should be able to visit quite a bit....
I sent an email to Dena today telling her about our get together and invited her and Margie and Dr, Hornbostel if they would like to come. Even if they didnt want to have supper there they could come by for a few minutes.
thought it would be neat.
Lana : wish you could meet up with us in Sedalia on the 19th also but understand about getting up for work the next day. if it had just been a party we could have put it another day but it was and still is a Dr. appointment for 3 of us that day and decided to stay over for supper with each other and now several others are coming which is wonderful.
I always order online gifts a lot for Christmas. but i think this year most everyone is getting gift cards really. will get on line and order them soon.
Glenna: no didnt make the no bake cookies yet. will wait and make them for Christmas day. All the desserts i am making this year for dinner and after are sugar free. lol they dont all have to know that tho.
Barb S: hey good to see your face now even if you arent smilling. lol soon you will be smilling for all the world to see.
Ive been taking calls all day seems like. Just got off the phone with Craig. He was at work and was calling me to tell me his new cell phone number. and kept getting interupted by other phone calls so he said he would call me back when he wasnt at work.
Andrew: called me to tell me they had been out of power since yesterday sometime. and that someone loaned them a small generator that was running two small heaters that was keeping them warm. he said they might not have any power till tuesday or so. Told him to bundle Susan up and come up and stay with us .
Hope everyone else has power and is doing ok.
Stay in where it is warm. and what roads melted today will flash freeze tonight so be really careful tomorrow morning , it may look clear but will be Blac**** very dangerous.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS
JAN
Hi Jan: Sorry to hear you can't attend your granddaughters shower. How sad!!! I know she will miss you. My DH works for MODOT and he had been working almost non stop since the storm started. He just got home about 7:15 this AM and he is now in a deep sleep. Those allnight 12-15 hour shifts are hard on everyone. It is hard to keep it quiet during the day with everyone calling to see how he is....they all mean well. Do all of you get on the chat line at night? Is that how you always know what is going on? I so enjoy reading your post everyday. You are appreciated!! I am praying the weather is done for along time now at least until after the 19th..
Hugs;

Momma Jan & Co.
The poodles asked to move to MIAMI this morning...my little old boys do not like this weather...LOL
It makes me really tired and want to sleep a lot. Another funny thing I have found that I love to do....
Watching the FOOD NETWORK....now mind you , can't eat anything...but jus****ching all the chefs talk about the holiday season, and their different menues.....
Makes me "almost" feel like I am eating it with them.
Either that, or I am torturing myself...lol
Everyone, keep warm, won't you!!

Hi to Jan and all the Missouri friends,
Beautiful sunny Saturday but oooooh so cold. DH wants to go up to Springfield to Super Walmart to try to get another huge wreath for our front porch. Guess we'll give it a try in my Explorer. The main roads are pretty clear but side streets are still unplowed some places. There are just so many streets to get done. I had a Rheumatoid flare last night, hands swelled all up but after sleeping they are down quite a bit and hot hurting much at all. Funny disease, so unpredictable. I can live with it. Just keep on keepin on. I believe the Lord gives us what we can handle and he knows that if this is as good as it ever is I'll still be fine.
I am anxious to hear from Melissa. She's been through so much.
Tom called me last night, he had driven to his son's in St. Louis and they were going to Tom's union Christmas party tonight. He really wants to see his old buddies from work and I believe trying to keep life as nearly normal as possible is a good decision.
Only 25 days until my surgery. I am like the rest of you, excited but a little apprehensive. Surgery of any kind is not fun. However, the outcome of this surgery is so much more than any of the others I've ever had and they all made my life some better. No more gallbladder pain, no more excessive bleeding after the hysterectomy, now no more diabetes after this one. WOO HOO!!! Keepin my eyes on the prize. It's kind of a hard Christmas in some ways, I don't want to buy any clothes so I'm going through old stuff to try to get together a new appearing outfit for John's Office party. Heck, I've only lived here two years, even my 15 year old clothes are new to them!!!
Guess I'd better go check on DH. He's out pushing some snow around on the driveway. Keep warm and dry.
Hugs and love
Lana
