Good Morning, We had an experience yesterday!!! As I had posted we had to go to St. Louis yesterday. We left up there at 2:30 in the afternoon and it was already sleeting and had been for awhile. What is normally a 2 to 21/2 hour trip took us 5 HOURS! Traffic was horrible because alot of the big employers like McDonald Douglas let their employees off early. We had to drive I44 to I270 to I55 and top speed was about 15 miles per hour with like 4 to 6 lanes of traffic! We have a four wheel drive truck and my poor husbands left leg was giving out due to the clutch! We could have drove a little faster in the truck but with all the traffic we were surrounded! There was no snow, just sleet. We finally drove out of the sleeting and into only rain about 15 miles north of our home. So here at home we didn't get any sleet or snow. It's frozen in the grass and on the porches and stuff this morning. I thank the Lord that he brought us home safely. Jan I don't personally know Karen S. from St Ann, she responded to the post about our meeting on the 19th and wanted to come. Karen if you read this please let Jan know for sure if you can make it and if you are bringing someone with you. We need it for reservation purposes. I do pray that you will come would love to meet you! Everybody stay warm today! Brenda

Happy snow day. I am at home today. School called off all around Springfield, even at Missouri State where I work. We can't go out yet. No plowing done in our neighborhood. That's OK, I made vegetable soup, potato soup and am making a meatloaf for dinner. My NUT appointment was cancelled due to the snow/ice but I think I can get one for Monday so not too big a deal. Wish I could come to Sedalia on the 19th but, alas, I'll be on liquid prep diet by that time!!! Also, it's too far for me when I have to work the next day. But I'll see lots of you on the 18th at COF group. Jan, are you coming up on the 11th for New Beginnings? I did some Christmas shopping Wednesday at the bookstore at school. It was 25% off everything. I have also ordered on-line as much as I can, don't want to hit the mall until I have plans completely laid out. Hope everyone stays warm and dry, praying to hear from Kat soon. Hugs and love to all Lana

Jan, I did get the protien balls made last night. They were really good. Made a nice snack. Hubby liked them too. Did you get the No Bake Cookies made? They are soooo good. We never did lose our electric here. My Mom did for about 3 1/2 hours. She lives about an hour east of Springfield. We didn't get as much snow as Springfield got. Our little Chihuahua is so good about going out when it's raining or snowing. He's a little trooper. He ran circles in the yard this morning when we let him out, but it was so cold, it didn't take him long till he was right back. We had a Boxer until last summer. He was the biggest baby that every walked. He just KNEW he would melt if he got a drop of rain on him. lol Yea, for Kat. I'm so glad they made it to Julia's okay and then to the hospital on the awful roads. WELCOME TO THE LOSING SIDE, KAT!! Julia, that was so nice of you to help Kat and her hubby. Stay warm everybody, and stay in if you can. Glenna
