Well im going to write this early for Thursday morning and post it early since the weather is suppose to get so bad. and sometimes when it storms like that my satalite for my computer goes out . So ---- Today was spent gathering and collecting we went and got some propane for the guest house since we dont know what will happen to the elect. If it goes out from ice we would be sitting in our house without anything, no heat or anything. so the guest house is heated with propane hence the hooking it up. have two oil lamps over there all ready in case. also more blankets and quilts there . i went and bought some charcoal and lighter fluid so we can cook on the grill if need be. bought lots of crackers and tuna, and canned chicken . Man that wind is really starting to blow big time. the temp is dropping like a lead balloon. has went down 20 degrees in the last 30 minutes. It is now while im writing this only 7:30pm on Wed evening but like i said i need to get this posted in case the elect and all goes out. if you dont see me for a day know that is all it is and the ones of you that have my cell phone number can call me anytime you want Claudette : thanks so very much for all the info you give us,. you are very informative and i love hearing you explain all of the details to us. makes it so plain and concise and to the point. better than i have ever heard it before. Thanks for the recepes. i made the protein balls tonight. i took some cashews and ground them up in my food processer and rolled the balls in that too. yummy. lol Rachael: that would be so nice of you if you went to see Melissa. Hopefully the weather wont keep you from doing that. Sugar: I hope you get to use your tickets in Branson. but doesnt look like you will . Sorry about that. Kat: im worried about you getting to Sedalia on time for your surgery. this weather looks like it is going to be bad. hope you can get there. will keep you in prayer that you arrive ok. Andrew: Dont know what your reason could be about not much weight loss. usually guys lose like crazy. you may be retaining fluids. maybe go see your pcp and let them check you over. dont know what to tell you guy. i have noticed that once in a while my ankles seem to swell a little but that is usually close to the end of the day. best bet is to go see pcp and find out what they think and if they have no clues call Dr. Hs office. I know at a little over 2 weeks i had only lost 20 pounds and i was very disappointed. but everyone loses at their own rate and you may be losing lots of inches already. Did you measure before you started this journey? if not measure now and everytime you weigh measure you will get a much better view of where you are. Yeah i felt like a dork calling you this morning. I was turning my phone on and must have hit a button. I have gotten where i wear my blue tooth headset most of the time and i just had put it on and hear you saying hello, hello. lol but was nice to talk to you. Oh yes if the protein drinks were all you were doing for protein you would come up short if you drank the 3 drinks without milk but not much only about 18 grams. i know i have a hard time getting in 3 of the protein drinks a day. but i try to do at least two and eat the other 30 grams of protein which isnt easy but what i eat i try to make it protein, nothing but protein. make those protein balls up and have them on hand will help with snacking and also protein too. WELL THE RAIN JUST HIT HERE WOW AND IT IS RAINING REALLY REALLY HARD Vesta: everyone here will be keeping you in prayer till your surgery at least i will i know and im sure others will too. Im glad your daughter is getting more comfortable with the rny. I just feel like i dont want to devote the rest of my life to running back and fort getting adjustments to lose weight. i want it off now and then it will be up to me to keep it off. Debbie M: hey dont give up on getting your surgery before the end of the year. since you have had your consult your ahead of the game and as soon as your insurance gives the go ahead it will be a go. just becasue the weather is going to be bad here right now doesnt mean that it will be next week lol not in the ozarks. hey if you can come to our little get together in December dont worry about eating in front of us. all our spouses are eaters too you know. doesnt bother me one little bit , sure wish you would come. Brenda: wow on lindas 75 pound loss that is awesome. i bet she is looking really good. yes i sure hope she can get to the get together too. I am going to email Dena and tell them about our get together and ask her and margie and dr. H if they would like to come for awhile and at least stop by and say Hi even if they cant stay long or anything. would be neat huh? Oh you and Andrew talking about all those places over there makes me homesick . Since i was born and raised in Fredericktown . I left when i was 17 and graduated from high school. Did you read all of Claudettes posts about dumping etc? she really explains it well i think. I have never done that , I have thrown up but it has always been my own fault , eating too fast or not chewing well enough. something. NOW THEY ARE GIVING OUT TORNADOE WARNINGS. THE ROOF OF THE JIM STAFFORD THEATER WAS BLOWN OFF JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO MY SATILITE IS OUT RIGHT AT THE MINUTE ... MY COMPUTER INTERNET CAME BACK ON AND IM GOING TO POST THIS BEFORE IT GETS ANYWORSE. LOVE ALL OF YOU LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS. JAN

Jan, Please don't worry about us with the weather. We are leaving here in about 24 hours to get there in time. We will be in the hospital parking lot until it is time to go in. I will post in a few when I get out of school!!

This is crazy lol It's gettin cold where your at and here its still 66 degree's at almost 10pm lol. In St. louis tho its down to 40 so it's headed this way quick. I got all the storm windows on today and everything tightened up so all the warmth stays inside. Picked up some things at the store so we should be ready, only thing is we're all electric so we'll have no heat if it goes out, I gotta save up and buy a kerosen heater. Jan I called my PCP this morning and he called back and said for me to come in. I went in at 1pm, he was glad to see me, he said I was really looking good, he hadnt seen me in 3 months, he really noticed a difference since I had lost 80 lbs or so before surgery. He thinks Im just at a plateau maybe since I did lose alot of weight before hand. To be safe he did bloodwork on me and had me stay around til it all came back, boy did i get a surprise. Last time he did blood work on me was about 4 months ago, back then my choleterol was high, my liver was fatty, my kidneys showed wear cuz of being diabetic and my hemoglobin was like 6.5, which isnt to bad but still high. Well when all the blood work come back my pcp was gleaming ear to ear. My cholestoral was 165, my hemoglobin was 5.5, my liver was exellent, my kidneys were great, he said its like im not even a diabetic anymore. The only thing he found was that my keystones were pretty high, he took a urinalysis. Im not exactly sure what the keystones are but he said if they get to high it would make me react as if i had real high blood sugar. He said its from not eating right most likely and to make it better to drink LOTS and LOTS of water so I've got to try harder in drinking a bunch of water. He said also that im not retaining water and like you said Jan drinking more water should flush all that out. I was sooooooooo pleased at the results today I couldnt stand it lol. Preparing for this surgery and having it has literally saved my life. He also asked me several questions about Dr. H and the hospital up there and all, I couldnt tell him enough good things about Dr. H and everything, he has a couple other patients he's is gonna recommend to Dr. H since i've had such a great experience. Well anyway, I've rattled on enough lol We've got a new gym here in town so Im gonna go check into that and see if I can start working out to help jump start the weightloss, plus to some extra walking until then. This crazy weather sure puts a damper on walking tho. Oh Jan that would be awesome if Dr H and Margie and Dena could stop by on the 19th for a min, I sure they can!!! Ok I've rattled enough for sure now LoL Im gonna go watch the weather some more and head off to bed. Hope everyone stays warm and safe. Kat you and your hubby be careful driving to Sedalia, I'll sure keep you in my prayers and ask the Lord for traveling mercies for ya's!!! See ya's Andrew

Hey my MO WLS Family, Check back in on the "real" Thursday, so I will know you are each OK!! It's just starting to drop in the temperature, (((remember I am in the southeast most part of Missouri, down by TN)))) It's 63 now, dropping from 65 when I woke up. They are saying 2-3 freezing rain then snow by tonight....blek. My mom just brought over 1/2 gallon of milk for me....you know, all southerners have to do the "MILK/BREAD RUN" when the weather gets bad, and I can't eat Bread....lol Sherr

Okay....been hanging on to my coffee mug for hours now...several refills....gotta keep it hot! I think my fingers are thawed enough for me to type. We got hit with everything yesterday which I believe most of you did as well! What Fun! NOT!! Rain, freezing rain, sleet, ice....now we're expecting snow!! I heard hubby out scraping ice off the car this morning before he left. I will have to ask him why, when he gets home. We got a car with remote start just for that reason and he put those plastic shower caps over the mirrors to help keep the ice off them. Must of got a lot of ice after I went to bed. Everything is covered in ice, it's sooo pretty... notice, I can say that because I don't have to get out in it. I don't even walk out to get the mail...I'm like a baby giraffe on ice! It just doesn't work for me! I don't understand how people can walk on it. I know I'm all stiff when I walk on it but it's those little slips that kill the back and cause the pain! Hubby got me some little spikes for my shoes...they work most of the time but I haven't found them yet this year! Guess I better start looking! The weather man, depending on what channel said we could get anywhere from 1 to 6 inches starting around 2:00pm. They also said it could get worse if the lightening and thunder keep up! Looks like the farther south (from KC) you go the worse it's gonna be so we should get the worse end of it....Thank God I don't drive a city bus anymore!! I though hubby was gonna be off the weds of the 19th but I checked with him and he has to work weds and thurs so like I said, we will see!! Sorry! I know all about the weather here in MO, real well! I have had several laughs over it with my family in CA. I was born and raised in southern CA for those of you that don't know. I have lived in MO for approximately, 25 years. I know, hubby says I should be use to it by now! I have tried, it ain't happening!! The first time I ever drove in the snow and ice was with a 40 foot city bus...hubby took me to work that day....the run started at 5:00am! Theres no other feeling then the one you get when you lose control of something that big....I have fish tailed in one and went down several hills in downtown KC, sideways because of the ice! When I first started driving a city bus, the trainers took us out to airbase, soaped up the runways (they weren't active) and had us accelerate to at least 60mph then lock up the brakes, lose control of the bus, then regain! ...it was to get us ready for the bad weather! I disagree.....that was fun!! The traffic, the passengers and bad weather was NOT! Try losing control of a bus, full of people, on the ice and then try to convince them that you know what your doing! Another time, I was taking a bus out to start a run. I was empty and on the freeway after a very bad ice storm that shut everything down. The back end of the bus took off on me and it took me several minutes to get it back under control! I told the hubby when I got home that I just knew that the people behind me were placing bets on which ditch I was gonna put it in! At least no one was trying to pass me! Another time, in rainy weather I took a bus up to KCI (another airport) it was my first time there, got lost, went threw an open gate that I shouldn't of and ended up on a active runway! I had one passenger on that bus! I wasn't even gonna try to explain to him that I knew what I was doing, especially after security was waiting for me back at the gate that I had came through! Thank God it happened before 9/11...I would probably still be in jail! When I got back to that gate, the security guard (female) said, mame do you have permission to be beyond this gate? I said (almost in tears) no mame, but if you show me the way out of here, I promise, I will NEVER come back!! She could tell how upset I was but she had to be firm but I could see that she was almost laughing on the inside! I couldn't blame her, I would of too! Now....so I don't sound like such an idiot....that gate should NOT of been left open, it was just beyond where I should of pulled off, the bus stop sign was not there, the gate I went through was at the bottom of a hill that I could not see over until I reached the top and saw a airplane coming my way and taking off over my bus........stop laughing! I think I broke the record for hanging a youie, in a bus!!...my heart still pounds talking about it! Okay, ...it was funny! it wasn't that day though!! Boy, the wind is howling out there, it's almost scary! LOL, my dogs don't even want to go out! I have to laugh at them. I now have 1 male pup retriever left (7 months old, thats when males can start breeding according to the registries), the daddy of the pup (2 years old) and a full grown female yellow lab (3 years old). They are all in their indoor kennels, the female is in heat and father and son are going nuts because I won't let them breed, especially the Dad.....he sits and whimpers and whines and when I won't listen to him he starts this mournful cry.....it is so pathetic, you'd think he's dying! When their outside, on their runs, he sits at the end of his cable as close as he can get to her and starts howling like a wolf. If it was night and someone was out in our back 40 and didn't know the dogs were here and he sounded off with that howl, it would make the hair on the backs of their necks stand up!...lol Well, thats enough of my life for awhile...I need to get up and walk if I can...lol Ol uncle arthir...you know! Love & Prayers, Deb M

Hey Jan and Mo board, Jan: I hope you don't have to use your guest house....cause I hope you don't lose our electric. We do have a small generator, so if we do, we couldn't run the whole house but with the gas fireplace we could stay warm and do the important stuff, like watch tv. lol I am thinking about making Claudette's recipe for the protein balls. I haven't made them before....but they sound good. I put on a pot of ham and beans this morning.....so that's for supper tonight. I thought that would be good on a cold winter night. Andrew: That is wonderful that you got a good report at your pcp's. As far as the plateau....I lost about 17 pounds the first 2 weeks or so, then hit my first plateau. I couldn't believe I was only 2 weeks out and hitting one. I weighed everyday, and still do. I didn't lose a single pound for 20 days! That was a long 20 days. I knew this time that it sure wasn't due to me eating to much. Plus, Claudette PROMISED me that I would start losing again.....and she was right. I did. So hang in there. It was explained to me that sometimes your body has to play "catch up". It will start up again for you. Everybody you talk to loses at a different rate. Some people lost it faster than I did, but it did come off. I probably hit at least 3 plateaus before I got to goal. The temp is going down again here. It started out at 32 this morning when we got up, and it goes down a little and stops then starts down again. Right now it is going down again. It probably will go on down since it is going to be night soon. Right now it is 24. Hope everybody stays warm. I'm headed for the kitchen to go make those balls. Glenna
