Talked to Tom Last Night

Dear All, Tom called me last night. He had just gotten home to Salesville for the first time. I know it must be hard to walk into the house without Marilyn but he seemed to be doing pretty well. He said he had lots of cards to read and that seemed important to him. His kids are coming down to his house to make tamales for Christmas. They wanted to continue their family traditions and I think that is wonderful. Also, his son is going to try to get him onto the OH board. Services are still set for the 16th. If the weather is good I may try to drive to St. Louis and back that day. Just have to wait and see how I feel. I did see the rheumatologist and he believes I have rheumatoid arthritis but fairly mild. He wants to try to put me into remission with an old long-term drug instead of treating the symptoms. This changing cold weather is not the best thing for my joints but I'm hanging in there. Still reducing my Prednisone dosage in preparation for surgery. I will be completely off it in a couple of weeks. Hugs and love to all of you. Lana

sounds like he and his kids are taking it fairly well. I send him lots of prayers. Im glad so many of us decided to send him cards. Im sorry you have what appears to be rheumatoid arthritis. that is too bad but at least it was caught early enough that maybe it can be put into remission. Love and hugs Jan
