we had some sad news in the neighborhood last night. My next door neighbor is 91 and lives by herself. Her husband died last year. She is always out and about in her yard and this pretty weather i hadnt seen her outside for the last 2 days. Long story short she passed away sometime in the last day or two. So sorry to see her go . But the neighborhood had expected it for awhile we will all miss her in one way or the other. I did some work in my green house today. filling peat pots with soil and getting the shelves cleaned off and ready for growing. Rachael: what a nice comforting post . Loved the prayer.and yes we are all blessed to have found one another on here. I cant believe your baby girl is already 9months old.I hadnt been on here long when she was born i guess. Seems like it was only yesterday. She is walking early isnt she. Some of them do. My youngest one was walking at 9months. but my middle one didnt wal****il he was 14 months old. He was and is a perfectionist. when he started walking he just got up and walked , didnt doddle or fall or anything. I guess he had been practicing by himself. lol Deb M: good to see your smiling face , the memorial table would be very large at our house. Since i am lots older than most of you there have been lots of family and friends that we have lost. But you know we never ever lose them unless we stop thinking about them. As long as we remember and can smile about them they are still around. I got an email from Patty and she was doing well. Collette: We will be meeting for supper on December 19th in Sedalia. Brenda, Andrew and myself and anyone else that wants to come . WE will decide where to eat soon im sure. Maybe you know of a good place. Oh i was going to tell you that if you ever decide to come to Springfield to a meeting you can stay at my house in the guest cottage. or as Andrew calls it the Cook Bed and Breakfast. I do cook a pretty good pan of biscuits and gravy. lol Sounds like you had a really nice Thanksgiving with all your family there. Glenna: lol you got that right about the tearing out. that is always the hardest part about remodeling. you never know what you are going to run into. When you tear out this part you may have to replace another part too. Cant wait to meet you too . Sherr: we are going to tonight at our support meeting take up a little money and have someone to send her some flowers. Hope they will brighten her day a little. I will probably stop and get a get well card to send to her too with all of our names on it. Sure hope they find out soon what in the world is going on with her. I hope she gets home soon but like Terry she doesnt need to go home until they have her on the road to recovery. Was your supper good that you cooked? We all think of you too. Lana: am anxious to see everyone at the meeting tonight. So glad your daughter and g-son spend the holiday with you. That is awesome. Thank you so very much with keeping us informed about your surgery. Have you thought about getting you another angel yet? Sugar is coming with me to the meeting tonight too. Hopefully my hubby too but dont know he has a real problem sitting for too long. I think we all miss Melissa. a lot. On the 19th of December will be my checkup in Sedalia, also Brendas and Andrews and we are all staying all night there and meeting up for supper after my appointment. Also any one that lives in the area is free to meet with us too. Julia, Barbara, Linda Smith, Collette, Sky, anyone else that i have missed. Please email one of us for information. we would love to have as many as possible to have supper with us. Also we need the names of good resturants there in Sedalia. I know where some are but not sure of the names. That is also my hubbies and my anniversary. lol. Will see a lot of you tonight at the meeting. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Momma Jan & Co: Well, Monday is sunny and bright and a nice 62, but it's supposed to start raining here tonight and rain until Friday...boooooooooooooooooo..... Rain seems to really bring on the joint pain for me now. Boooo, (again..lol) You guys are lucky to have meetings within driving distance....I don't even think there is another WLS patien within 100 mile radius of me....OH, well...I have always been perculiar...lol I cooked for my parents, and put some aside for the teenager...he was "out and about" and couldn't come home or socializing....so he ate his when he got home. I can't eat steak yet, and apparently can't eat cobb salad just yet...lol.... I cook because my dad is in need of double knee replacements and Mom just had toe surgery last week, and a shot in her heel due to mystery pain, so they are both not getting around well at all. Both Mom & Dad raved so I guess I did okay...lol But, I did terribly....I have always had a very finicky stomach, since I was a child, but with WLS, it's even more touchy. Many things that re on my list of "Can eat now" items, do not sit well on me at ALL.... Perhaps, it's a good thing...lol..... Has anyone started their shopping yet? I bought Dylan (son) stuff online, and didn't even leave the house....Used coupons and got free shipping, and didn't spend anything on gas or have to get dressed...woot woot.... A couple more days, and Janet will be on th "losing side"....so everything think of her. Sherr

Howdy Howdy everyone!!! One more day closer to the big day!! Can you believe it is almost here?!?!? I am getting really anxious. My husband and I have decided to save our money and leave very very early Friday morning, at around 1 in the morning. That will give us extra time in case the unexpected happens. It will also give us extra time for driving in the dark. DH is going to be taking on that task. This way, we will have some extra money to go get some FOOD!!! Just a few things to tide us over until DH gets paid. I will aslo be able to get a few things to help with the liquid diet I need to be on the day before. Does anyone have any suggestions on what fills you up, that we are allowed to have the day before surgery? Anyway, it is almost time to pack my bags and pack up the kids stuff too. They will be staying with my neighbor. I am going to miss them. This will be the longest I have been away from any of my kids since they have been born. It will be tough, but well worth it in the end. I am looking forward to having this surgery and getting on with my life, leaving obesity behind. It will be so wonderful!!!! Does anyone have any second to last minute advice?

Hey hey ya'll Hasnt been much going on here today. I went for my walk up the road. I always pass this nice house with a huge garden and today a lady was out there pullin up some of the garden *reminded me of jan* lol she yelled at me how nice it was and so forth so I stopped and talked a min, she said she's been seeing me go by everyday but hasnt wanted to bother me, anyway long story short she ended up giving me some turnips mmmmm I love fresh turnip and the greens lol so now I have turnips cooking in one pot and the greens in another, boy they smell so yummy. Now I just hope my tummy can tolerate some mashed up turnips tonight *crosses fingers*. I started doing some yard work today too, raked a few leaves and such, gonna really get into tomorrow. I sure hope all of ya'll that leave in and near sedalia can come out and have dinner with Brenda, Jan and I and our spouses on the 19th, that'd be such a blast, we could all sing happy annerversy to Jan and her hubby too LoL Kat your almost there gurl. As far as what liquads fill ya up, almost any of the broths or even strained soups. Is what I did was buy cans of veggie soup and chicken noodle or beef soup and strain them, the broth from the soups seem to taste better then reg broth. Get ya some suger free popcicles too, I also bought the walmart brand of crystal light, all flavors are good and its counted in as water. Stuff like that is what I lived on my first week, trust me tho, you'll be doing good to get in all that the doc wants ya too, you'll drink a few sips and be full. Im now about getting in all the water im suppose too but still having trouble getting in all the protien shakes. Be sure to take ya vitamins too, soooooo important. Well hope that helps ya!! Im gonna go finish cooking my turnips and greens. Ya'll have a great night!!!! Bless ya's Andrew

Good Evening, I talked to Linda S. by e-mail this evening and she and her husband want to come to our supper Dec 19, but he does not get off wor****il 5:30 pm. If we could meet for supper maybe around 6:00 or 6:30 pm that would give some of the working people time to get there. So as soon we settle on what time and where, I will e-mail Linda S. I didn't get to call Dr. H's office today because a construction crew about 35 miles from where we live cut a fiber optic phone line and shut down all long distance phone calls and internet use for today. I just now was able to get online. Will call tomorrow about the B vitamins. Let me know what is decided, we only have 3 weeks before we see each other. Looking forward to it. Love Brenda
