I will be two years out in March, I'm interested in having the excess skin on my stomach removed. The only insurance I have is Medicare. Does any one know if Medicare will cover this procedure, or know of any plastic surgeons who will accept Medicare Insurance. If you could pass along any information I would greatly appreciate it . Thanks, Stephanie Barker

HI Stephanie, I had my tummy tuck paid for by medicare. If your excess skin causes rashes or infections or you have trouble walking, they will cover it. If you have any questions you can e-mail me and I will be glad to help. Carol

Hi Carol, I want to have a tummy tuck and my arms and legs skin removed, however I am having a problem with finding a reputable plastic surgeon to charge this to my insurance I have my primary insurance is SIHO and my secondary is Medicare. I have RA and i really don't have alot of skin but enough to wear the doctors say it would be better on my joints to have it done. The problem is the doctor won't bill insurance for his procedure because of how much they actually cut the invoice and he get paid hardly nothing for a really long procedure. I am afraid of going to some butcher just to get it done. I live in Ohio near Cincinnati can you offer any help please I had my gastric bypass 5 years ago and lost 178 pounds and I always fluctuate between 10 and 15 pounds but other than that I have been able to keep it off. I really appreciate whatever help you can advise.

i have united healthcare currently but next year will have mercy. the surgeon said that most insurances don't like to pay for a tummy tuck. Did you write a letter to them or anything? Any suggestions on how to get insurance to pay? cherie
