Now this seems like Monday doesnt it? Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and did something good for someone else. I made Ham and baked sweet potatoes and salad and green beans and took a plate over next door to a little man that lives alone and had no company yesterday. He isnt in the best of health but he just smiled like someone had given him something worth while . It doesnt take a lot to make some people happy you know. We worked in the yard putting up the reindeer and lights up on the porch. We also put lights up on the arch out front in the yard. I sent Tom and his family a card this morning. I havent heard anything about when the services are , has anyone else heard? I planted 10 flowering trees yesterday too. they are small but if they grow as fast as the ones i planted last year they will be big soon. the trick is to water them a lot. I now have the tree watering rings around each one of them and will make sure they get a good soaking at least once a week if it doesnt rain. Andrew: thanks but what i say on here most of the time comes from God. Especially when i know that everyone is hurting about something. I pray and let God do the typing. Did you have a good time with your father in law and his friends at the nursing home? that was so neat for you all to do that. Yes we older folks sometimes have some pretty neat stuff to say. lol I too wish all the states could develope the closeness that we have developed on this board. some of them are so cold and no one joins in but once in a while. they dont know what they are missing do they. Barbara Scott: thank you for being a part of the board. and you are appreciated too. as all of you are. Everyone has a part that they play and no one is bigger or better than the other. All are loved Vesta: sweetie you are loved too. and i think you have so much to give on here, dont know what we would do without you. Hope your Thanksgiving day was sweet. Brenda: you know i think each and everyone of us were able to be a lot more Thankful this year than before. with a little bit more refection of what we are really thankful for. It isnt the big dinner and all but who is around the table with you and those that arent there too. Wouldnt matter if it was turkey or boloney the word is Thanksgiving ...right? thanks for the words of comfort. Claudette: Yes I think all of us know that Marilyn went into surgery with her eyes wide open . She knew the risks and was well aware of them. I too would love to attend her funeral but havent heard anything about when it is to be. I was wondering where you had been this week also. if you can share? Debbie D:I really do think that Marilyn would approve our tribute to her . I know she was a caring giving woman and would approve. To all that are still reeling over Marilyns death. Be assured that Marilyn was loved and that she loved the Lord and we can rest assured that we know where she is and it isnt in that body that she lived and hurt in. She now has a new wonderful body that is so improved that we cant imagine it. Tami: I hope you are doing well after your plastic surgery and not in too much pain. Some say the pain from that is lots more intense than the pain from the wls. Glad you are feeling well enough to take a walk and that all is going well for you. yes i agree that we need to constantly reach for the goals that we couldnt even imagine before wls. Isnt it a wonderful gift that we have been given. Yesterday was such a wonderful , beautiful day. We got some decorations done in the yard still have more to go. My husband was talking about using some of the lights we have to put up in the redbud tree and the two dogwoods. we will see if he gets it done. lol I would love it. Im a kid when it comes to pretty lights in the yard and on the house. CardsFan: hey really nice to see you posting and with all the good things you have to be thankful for. So glad your niece and nephew were spared in the car accident. God was watching over them is true. We all have the chance for a new beginning in our life at any moment whether it is because of weight loss surgery or not. God gives us this oppertunity each and every day to start anew. Isnt that the most amazing thing. No matter what has happened and if we ask God to forgive us he will cast those sins as far as the east is from the west and so daily we have the chance to start over. How amazing is that??? Sherr: so good to hear from you and to know that you had a really good day today and was with your family. I cant believe it will soon be 2 months since your surgery. seems like it was just last week or so when you had that. You are doing really well and we may have to use you as our poster child.lol We all love and care about you too sweetie. Colette:Im really sorry that you had to learn about Marilyn later. But you had your Thanksgiving first and it sounds like a lovey lovey thanksgiving it was. I think most everyone on here had a thoughtful and maybe a more meaningful Thanksgiveing this year than normal due to the death of our Marilyn. Lana has Toms address if you want it she will email it to you. I sent a card to him and family. I dont know when the service is or where . Well I am up to leave in a bit to get to a couple of stores early this morning. Radio Shack here in Forsyth has a sale starting at 6am for some things that i am going to use as christmas presents. lol. Cant pass them up. If you go shopping this morning be careful and dont run over anyone. I dont have the money to go to the stores in Springfield or i would go there too. lol Is a great way to get some Christmas presents cheap. Just have to go hunting very early in the morning. lol Love you all. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Wasn't Thanksgiving a BEAUTIFUL day? WOW the weather was unbelievable! I had my whole family over which totaled over 30 people.I love cooking for big crowds so I did about 85% of the cooking . There were so many little ones running around my dog was in heaven-he loves kids. He is still exhausted though. I got lots of great pictures-nobody argued ,everyone left with a full belly and we had a great time. My family is very open minded. I guess we would have to be considering all of the different races and life styles we have . I always say we are like the rainbow coalition. I told everyone I would be having surgery hopeully early next year and they were happy for me.They asked questions and were supportive. I am thankful for my crazy family. I see so many struggle with families who don't want them to have surgery. It must be so hard. I am so thankful for the day I had yesterday-beginning to end. I am thankful also for each and everyone on this board. We definately have a unique group here. I've browsed the other boards--I consider myself lucky to be a part of this one. Everyone is in my prayers. Thnka you for walking with me on this journey. Dannielle

Looks like today is shaping up to be as beautiful as yesterday. We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year and while all the family was not able to make it we still had a wonderful time and tasty meal. I thought of Marilyn quite a few times during the day and said prayers for her family. Did Tom's address get posted and I missed it. I would like to send a card too. My husband only had yesterday off so in addition to the Thanksgiving celebration he got the light up on the house and out in front. Look so pretty. Just me and my son home today. Hopefully can get the house picked up and laundry done this morning so we can do something fun together today! Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend. God Bless, Marilyn

Yesterday was a very interesting day around here. Since we live so far from family, and money is tight, we stayed home for this holiday. I spent 2 days in the kitchen cooking up a storm. After all, this will be the last Thanksgiving I get to indulge. We sat down to eat and it was over in about 30 min. My beautiful dinner that I had worked so hard on was basically destroyed. If you looked at my table after everyone was done eating, it looked like a pack of wild dogs came into my house and hopped right up on the table. I sat down and just looked around and I couldn't help but giggle. That is what it is about. My family, all sitting down together, talking, loving one another, and apparently LOVING the food that I had prepared. I had hopes that I would be able to "go home" for the holiday, but I am thankful that I had my family here with me and everyone was happy. Now that all the festivities are over, it is time to get my Christmas stuff up and my house decorated. This way, I don't have to worry about it after I get home. After I am done with that, I will work on school for awhile, and then getting ready to have surgery. I can't believe I have one wee****il I am on the losing side. I have waited so long for this and now it is bascially here, staring me in the face. I just hope I can get everything done in time. I hope everyone is recovering well from all the hustle bustle of family and friends and all the good food. It is now time for me to get busy and get ready for my new life.....

Momma Jan & Company: Happy Friday....It's 60 degrees here in the bootheel. So glad to see the MO WLS family posting. I am up and trying to eat some salad with a "fingers worth" of ham chopped up on it. LOL....Mom wanted to send stuff home with me, and I told her, only a "finger's worth of a couple of things.... My sister was adding things to my plate yesterday, and I'd say, "just a teaspoon worth" and she'd heap about a cup of stuff on there.... I hated to throw so much food away, but she hasn't dealt with the WLS Sherr, so she didn't realize we really don't eat... My mom put my mashed potatoes on my plate, and that was the only true "teaspoon serving" of stuff on my plate. (IF****ep stuff down, I can eat about 8 bites of stuff. My stomach has always been very fragile and finicky, as a small child I was in the doctor's all the time with stomach problems. I guess it will take me forever to learn how to deal with a troubled stomach that has had WLS on it. LOL Talked to Janet C. today, and she is saying Mel Mel won't be able to leave the hospital until next Tues. or Wed. at the earliest Poor Poor Mel....everyone keep thinking about her, okay? Sherr OH! Janet C. has her surgery on Wed. at Columbia so everyone please put her on your "PRAYER RADAR"....

Heya, What a nice day we had yesturday. I'm so glad we went and spent the day with the FIL, he really enjoyed us being there and so did we. It's really a blessing to bless others on a day when there is no family around for some. Today we've had a few errands to run then I came home and finished putting up the outside lights around the deck and stuff. Yesturday we put some lights and the christmas tree inside, now its all done I think I kind of over did it yesturday putting up lights and stuff cuz today I feel so draggy, I guess that happens. Really glad to read everyone so far had a great thanksgiving. For me this is one thanksgiving I am so thankful for cuz of just having surgery and getting a 2nd chance at life. Remembering to eat slow slow slow and sip sip sip, yesturday after I waited 30 mins or so after I ate to drink I took a big gulp not even thinking, yikes...my tummy started to get a real big full feeling, thank goodness it passed. Well I think Im gonna go relax the rest of the evening. Hope everyone didnt shop til ya drop today lol. Andrew

Well Friday was my 45th birthday and it was a great day. I feel like I am just embarking on life. I am really struggling with hunger which I am surprised by, because I thought I wouldn't be for some reason. Oh well, not too much longer until I can have some soft foods. I did much better today with liquid intake but we were out shopping a great amount of time today so I know I didn't get enough protein in. Gonna try to do some more before bed. Saturday is looking pretty good hoping to start decorating for christmas....
