My Thanksgiving Blessing
This morning a man knocked at my door. He introduced himself and stammered a bit before he said" Today is my girlfriends birthday and we don't have any food,do you have any to spare?" I said hold on just a moment . I went to my kitchen and filled a sack with groceries-odds and ends but more than enough to make a meal or two. I took the bag to him and he was overwhelmed and thanked me. I told him happy Thanksgiving and to have a good day. He was so happy but I know I was even happier.
God gave me this man to help and for that I am grateful.
Most all of us have an abundance of food on thanksgiving and complain about leftovers in our fridge. This man was a reminder to me that not everyone is so fortunate. I am grateful to God that I have enough to share. Can you imagine the guts it took to knock on the door of a stranger and ask for food?
I feel so blessed , so very blessed .
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. I am thankful for each and everyone of you and count you among my blessings.
Let's all try to do one thing to help someone else today. It doesn't have to be huge.Be nice to the cousin you don't like-hold a door,call someone to brighten their day. ANYTHING ! Let's all tell each other what we did tomorrow and share the blessing of giving of your self.
