The time between 1st visit with Dr & surgery?

Can you all give me an idea of about how long it takes after your first visit to the Dr and when you can have surgery? I went to the seminar in Sept. and my first visit isn't until Dec 6th... about how long after your 1st visit did ya'll have to wait? Dr Hornbostel is my Doc. I'm getting excited but just wondering if it will be Another 3 month wait? Just curious. Thanks Pat

are you on medicare? if so it will probably be at least 2 months. he is so backed up with patients that it is quite a wait but he may be catching up now. Jan

Thank you Jan - yes I've been on Medicare disability for 5 years. I hope he's getting caught up... I just hate waiting and waiting - a week after I turned in all my stuff I heard from Dena that my appt would be in Dec. - that was 3 months ago. I just want to get it over with and start feeling better, and more healthy. I'm still pretty much a shut-in here so I don't know any people. I watch you all and feel like I'm at home, it's nice. Maybe the fickle finger of fate will smile on me soon... I sure hope it's my turn soon. Pat

I had my consult with Dr. H. on Oct. 11th, and my surgery is scheduled for Dec. 1st. The wait really depends on your insurance and how busy Dr. H. is. When you go in for your consult, ask him how far out he is scheduling his surgeries. This will give you a very rough estimate as to when you might be having surgery. I asked him that at my consult and he said he was booked until after the holidays. Well, I guess you can say that mine is between the holidays. It is all a very rough estimate. I was shocked that I am having mine when I am. Keep your head up and remember who is up there helping. God will help make the wait so much easier.
