I had my pre-op assesments in Sedalia today. I hd to get up at 4 this morning and left and the unwelcoming hour of 5 a.m. I got there an hour early. They started the assesment as soon as I got there and I was back on the road at 11 a.m. So far, I was happy with all the staff that I had spoken to. I also saw Dr. H on my way out. He took one look at me, smiled, and said, "How ya doing? Gettin close huh?" I said, "Yes, sir" and he was off like a shot. On the way home, I found this wonderful radio station. I know they were saying "Spirit FM" and it was 91.7. There was this lady on there that was preaching about giving thanks and being thankful. It was a wonderful little piece and it made me think. How come most people always find something to complain about? We all need to take another look and find the good things in life. I started the day out complaining about the long long drive. After listening to the piece, I was so thankful that I had to make the drive as it was leading towards my surgery and new life. I am so thankful that I am having this surgery and being given a second chance at life. I am also thankful for all my new found friends on this forum. I wanted to tell ALL of you that I am so thankful that you are here, that you have wonderful, caring hearts, and are willing to give your precious time to help others. I have a whole new attitude about my surgery. Thank you Lord for all my new friends and family here on OH and thank you for the chance to live a better life for my family, so I can live in your Grace. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!

Congrats on the success you've made so far. We all have a lot to be thankful for we're here to spend another holiday with our families. I hope to be getting to the pre-op side but it's ok I have nothing but time now that I've made the choice to go through with the surgery. Hope everything comes out ok for you. Good golly, now that you have put it that way, it makes it seem so much closer. "A week from this Friday". Now that is something to think about. It is getting so close. Before I know it, I will be joining all the others on the loser's bench. Never did I think "loser" would be a nice word.
