Well we have a couple more losers on the bench now i guess. We have heard that Marilyn is ok but so far havent heard anything about Patty? Anyone heard anything? I hope she is ok but i know that we may not hear anything until she gets home. This month is sure speeding along isnt it? Tomorrow i get to weigh and measure again. I cant tell you all too much that measuring everywhere is such a great idea. There will be times that you dont lose in a week like you should but if you dont lose the pounds you will more than likely lose the inches. Wasnt yesterday a beautiful sunny day? I got out into the shed and got out all the Christmas decorations and then the next thing i knew i was putting up the tree and decorating it. I never put the tree up before the day after Thanksgiving but so im almost a week early lol Didnt have anything to do and was bored so up it went. Decorated it with purple and gold decorations. It is really pretty. Tomorrow we will probably work on decorating the outside of the house some. It is suppose to be warmer and sunny too i believe. Oh my gosh everyone hope you have read Melissas post she has written herself from the hospital. She has turned the corner to feeling better if she can get on the computer herself. Fantastic.....keep praying for her The Devil likes to let us think we are winning and let up on prayer then he can take over again. Deanna: wonderful to hear from her again now too. I know when people get better and leave us it is because they are so busy they cant find time to get on the computer but ---- that doesnt keep us from missing them. Good to hear from you Deanna. Sugar: I hope you got a lot of your phone calls made and got good answers on most of them. The Circle of Friends meeting is next monday at 6:30 and is at 2620 West Battlefield. Hope you will make it to the meeting. Andrew: maybe if you slept with lots of pillows proping you up you could sleep better , you think? Might be worth a try anyway. Sure dont want to blow the pouch do you? So what do you weight? Are you not going to tell us until you see Dr. H. today? Tell Huera we all said hello and we love her. Kathleen: Sure am glad you made it home alright and the hernia is repaired too. That is really great news. As far as i know Melissa is doing better. Sherr: that is still a lot of weight to have lost in eight weeks too. Glad you are doing better. I havent lost that much and i am farther out than you. by the time you get to 3 months out you will have dropped way more sizes and all. I guess i got you mixed up with someone but dont know how i could possible have done that at all since you are one of a kind Debbie: wouldnt they put the tube down you for the lap band surgery too? anyway im confused lol glad your psych consult is done now. Hopefully it wont be long before you have a date. So did the doctor you saw today find you were nuts or what? I sure hope that the psych doc gets that report into Dr. Hs office soon so you can get your date. that is the only thing they are waiting for . Sounds like your hubby still needs that one pill doesnt it? or at the least something to help when he hurts like that. My dog woke me up barking at something so had to get up and tell him to be quite so thought i would get this done and then post it since it is already today instead of tomorrow . Well im going back to bed for awhile .Get some more zzzzzzzzzzzs check on all of you later. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Good morning Jan and All: Hope this finds everyong doing well, Glad to hear about Mel. Goodness that's wonderful. Those prayers do it every time. huh? Well I haven't had my home this quiet in such a time now, it's dark out crispy I have just gone over Jan's bright morning sunshine greeting with my cup of boullion thinking how lucky I am. The sincereity in everyone's kindness. Anyway Jan the meeting I wrote you about is not the same hospital I have my meeting at, however De Paul is a little closer to me than Barnes. We do have the meeting on the same night, it appears. I live within approx. 30-40 min. from De Paul hosp. By the way, has anyone post op had alot of nausa and a hard time getting their pureed foods down. I don't seem to be able to eat much at all, and nearly everything seems to make me kinda sick to my tummy. Or is it just physco symatic cause I am tired of baby food, *ha ha ha* Love Your Friend Tressia

Tressia, I jsut wanted to throw out there that if this nausea issue doesn't start to get better or is so bad that you don't seem to keep anything down, be sure to be persistant with your Drs. It could be a stricture, as I've known a couple of post-ops who've had that issue. That's where scar tissue closes off your openings, it's not hard to open it back up, a pretty simple procedure. Personally, I had a few things that made me feel "icky" like TUNA! YUCK! Was a long time before I could stomach that again. Same with eggs. You'll find things that you tolerate better than others so just keep experimenting. For me, I'd take a tiny bit, see how it settled and if it didn't make me fell bad, I'd have some more. Sometimes Dr are quick to say it's just your new pouch getting used to things but they aren't always right, so trust your instincts here! : ) Hugs, Tami

Good Morning Missouri... Wow it was soooo good to see Melissa post again, even tho it was from the hospital it was still soooo good to see her post. Just goes to show ya God has and still is answering our prayers for her Jan that's a good idea about propping myself up, I'll give that a try. Last night I turned a fan on myself so i****ing my face, that seemed to help a lil bit last night. I've been using the CPAP machine for prolly 5 years , every night of those 5 years, I guess too it might take time getting used to being without it but it's also kind of scary cuz I stop breathing like that without it Jan I did weigh at the FIL nursing home yesturday, I was pretty disappointed cuz according to their scale I only lost 2 lbs since surgery. I know they pump ya with fluids after surgery but I'd a thought I would of lost a lil more then that, oh well. Tressia I'm only 7 days post op and am still on liquads until today but so far I havnt had any nausea at all. Dr. Hornbostel has me on a B-100 vitamin, it has 100 mg of Thiamine which has been proven to help keep nausea down plus help with energy level and stuff. Right now I have to cru**** and it's soooooooooo nassy, I put it with applesauce or yogart but still it's nassy but I know it helps so I keep taking it. You might ask your Dr. about it. I'll let ya know in the next few days how I tolerate the pureed foods. Well I better get myself ready, we are heading back up to Sedalia today for my 1 week check up. Jan i'll let ya know tonight or in the morning (depending when we get back) if I was able to get an appt. on the 19th. I'll also be sure to tell Huera you all are praying for her and all. Everyone have a great day... Andrew

Good Morning All! PRAISE THE LORD!! Good to see your doing good Melissa!! With all the driving yesterday and sleeping hard last night, I'm stiff today...thinking ol "uncle arthr" is kicking in ...lol Oh well, getting use to it now. Jan, yes that should of been the last appt. before surgery. Before I saw DH for wls I went to Dr. Malley's seminar and I asked him about having to have surgeries after wls and would it bother the Lap Band or what...he said that he would remove all the fluid from the band which would not be a problem and them after recover we would start inflating it again. I notice on here tho...many of the people on here have had surgery after wls and no one talks about having problems with it...so who knows. Finally got the nerve to go out and replace my little tweety bird yesterday. I got a little white parakeet with a bright blue back...don't know if it's a boy or girl. I still need to come up with a name too. Everyone have a good day!

Jan we made it back safe and sound tonight. My 1 week check up went great. Dr. Hornbostel and Margie both said I'm doing real good. I lost 5 lbs since surgery hoped it would of been more but Margie said thats pretty normal since they pump with fluids and I retain fluid so easy right now. So the more I can walk the more that fluid will go I think but otherwise I'm doing good. Dr. H also said I can go back to using my CPAP with no problem so now I can get a good nights sleep. I shouldnt have to use it to long tho, once I lose weight off my neck it'll get better. Also Jan I did get my 1 month appt for Dec. 19 at 1:45pm she had a few around that time and thats it so hopefully we can all work something out to meet up for a bit. We might even stay the night there if it gets to late on that day. Hey Deb M. I forgot to answer your question this morning of was I the one walking out with another couple after the seminar on July 4th, no the wife and I walked out by ourselves, Dr. H was still taking questions when we left, I had gotten all the questions I had answered so we went on since we had a long drive. Well Im tuckered so Im gonna go relax. Have a great night ya'll. Andrew Ooops P.S. We stopped in to see Marilyn but she was sleeping so I left a get well card on her stand for her when we woke up. I'll try to give her a call in the morning before she heads out to home and say "Hi"

Just have to share a quick story with you all! Friday night, my husband and I were out for dinner and the kids called. Our 7yr old had hurt her arm....the babysitter from across the street had fallen on top of her while they were playing. She wasn't crying though and the next day she played and hung up laundry, took part in the Christmas parade even! Sunday night she had her shirt off and I realized how bruised her whole shoulder was. She was babying that arm a little but when I would suggest going to the dr she insisted she was fine. Well last night Jim insisted we take her to the Dr. today. I got off work early to take her right after school....it's a BROKEN clavical!!! This kid was even doing jumping jacks in the dr office before they came in to see her to prove to me she was FINE! lol So now she's in this brace for 4-6wks, no PE at school....I felt really bad for having let it go since Friday but the Dr even said her son had broken his once and it wasn't till 3 days later she realized he wasn't using that arm as normal and they took him in and found his clavical was broken too. Then she told me that most of these breaks occur when a kid falls on top of another kid. My daughter's happened when she tried to jump up on a HS kid to force her to pick her up, the 2 of them fell to the ground. I've always been telling these kids to quit tryign to pick each other up cause they'll hurt their back.....well now it'll be "cause your break your collar bone!" She's fine though, other than the playing restictions. I am betting she'll perfect a few video games in the next few weeks! Take care everyone!! Tami
