MELISSA....!!!!!!!!!

I was reading all the posts and was worrying about Melissa and Terry called me. The news is excellent.....She is out of ICU and in a regular room as of now , the breathing tube and the nasal cannula and the catherther is all out. She is up walking and talking and is feeling so much better. I ask Terry about her having a heart attack and he said NO she didnt have a heart attack but did have an episode that sort of affected her heart mairnly because her blood preasure was so low. At one time it was too low to even be read. but the cardilogist has released her from his care , says she is fine. They are giving her liquids now and said that if she tolerated that they would increase it to a soft diet. she is getting 2 more units of blood since her plateletts are still low and they are talking about releasing her on Monday to come home possible. Said they wont do the mesh until later 6 weeks to 3 months. maybe she can have a tummy tuck and hernia deal at the same time. she will be released with a belt to wear this time. Well i just got home and got the phone call from him so thought i would get on here and relay what he said. Melissa told him to call me and update me on her condition. Keep praying for her. I told him to tell her we love her and cant wait to hear from her . Jan

WooHoo Thats awesome news!!! We're gonna have to get that gurl for giving us such a scare I was gonna get a card off to her today but if she's gonna be released from the hospital I'll send it on to her house!! Thanks Jan for the info and welcome home!!! Andrew

hey andrew how are you doing guy? i hope you are feeling good. and things are going well for you. I still cant believe that you got to come home so early. makes me feel like i was being a slug bug to lay in the hospital so long lol. they are going to keep on till this is almost like an outpatient surgery. lol. When do you go back to Sedalia for your first check up? Jan

Hey hey Jan, Im doing really good. Im feelin good and things are just moving right along. I cant believe I just had surgery 4 days ago but I do feel it if I do to much lol. I still cant believe I went home early too LoL Im still not getting in all my water that I need to yet but i'll keep working at it. Susan made some homemade chicken veggie soup just after we got home and I been having a cup of broth of that each day, takes awhile to get an 8 oz cup of it down tho lol I wear the micro wave out just heating it back up lol. I been walking the drive way a couple times a day plus walking a bit in the house so hopefully Im doing everything that needs to be done. Today I think I over did it a bit, it was angelfood day and I went and sat while they distributed, I didnt lift a thing but just being there a couple hours wore me out lol I have my 1 week follow up on tuesday at 2pm, after my appt I'll go over and check up on Huera and see how her surgery went, I'll also try to get my 1 month appt for Dec 19th *crosses fingers* so I can catch up with you and Brenda and I think Julia said she'd stop by where ever we were and some others I think LoL Do you take the B-100 vitamin with Thiamin??? That thing is absolutely horrible crushed up LoL I put it in SF Applesauce but that dont help at all lol Well I've rattled on enough here, Im just so so excited about how well surgery went for me I hardly shut up LoL God is so so good!!!! No Andrew I dont take the B-100 dont even know what it is.lol I did have some thiamin when in the hospital i think but havent been told to take the b-100. Oh i hope you can for sure get your next appointment on the 19th for a checkup. It doesnt take long so maybe they can stick you in there. tell them they can overlap you with me and we can even share the same waiting room lol. I am excited for you with the surgery too. that is amazing that you are doing so well keep sipping yeah it is really hard to get all in you are suppose to. I still cant get it all in but have quit fretting about it anyway and do what i can. take care and the walking will help about as much as anything to get your strenght back but take it easy too. rest when you can after all you did just have major surgery. Hola Jan! Glad you are back, we missed you. I don't know, maybe it's something new but, B-100 is in my instructions too. The asessment nurse even wrote it on my paperwork and mentioned taking it with applesauce. I wonder if you had a different nurse. Anyway, you might want to ask Dr. H or Dena about it. Hugzz, Huera

Just be prayed up and things will be ok. We all have the upmost faith in Dr. H. you will be in excellent hands. Will be praying for you tomorrow for traveling safety and for your surgery on Monday. Jan, Welcome back! I was not instructed by doctors office to take B100. I was at support meeting when they suggested it and then when I went to my one week appt after surgery they told me to take it. I dont think it was a must then, but since then they added it to the information book I sent a card to Melissa today so she will probably get it Monday before she comes home if she comes home. Missed you girl. Maybe I can meet you guys on the 19th if it is in the afternoon. Let me know. Would like to meet all of you. Going to try and see Marilyn but my schedule is heavy as my boss is deer hunting. I might not be able to get away early in day. Hate to drive at nite by myself. Will try my hardest. Colette

Thanks Momma Jan for posting. I am getting my info from Janet C. and typing it as she is telling me....and she is an "emotional grrl"...Okay, she crys at everything all the time. And, if I could reach thru the phone and snap her butt, I would...LOL But, she told me....as I typed it...that on Monday during surgery, Melissa had some version of a heart attack. SO that was Janet's version. Now, again, Janet told me later in the afternoon yesterday, that Mel's sister, Rose was giving Mel a sponge bath, Terry had gone down to the car to get his computer, and Mel had another "episode"...her eyes rolled back in her head, and her blood pressure dropped.... They called in the nurses/doctors and that is what Janet C. told me...She got to talk straight to Mel.... Thanks for getting us a calm post.
