Protein shakes
A while back someone wrote about some protein shakes that were fruit flavored and mixed with water instead of milk. Anyone remember that post? Also I heard about liquid calcium that was easy to take. Anyone? Does anyone know where to get Optisource vitamins? I'm just full of questions. Nothing like waiting till the last minute!

I don't know who posted about the fruit flavored protein shakes. However, you can find Optiscource vitamins at Walgreen's. My local Walgreen does not carry them so you might have to call around. I know you can also order these from the Walgreen website.
I see your surgery is next week! Will be praying for your surgery and your recovery.
Take care,
Debbie D.
I don't know about the protein drinks but the Optisource I believe people were buying it from Dr H...I could be wrong but I think thats what I read. I remember the protein drink posts but don't remember how long back or who wrote them...good luck on that!
I also wanted to write you and let you know that I will be praying for you on Monday! Good Luck Hun, you will be in good hands, both physically and spiritually! Deb M.
Optisource vitamins can be found at walgreens.com...they can sometimes be found in-stock at the local Walgreens stores, but I've heard the past few months that folks have had to order Optisource on-line.
As far as the fruit flavored protein - it was mentioned by Alan (now on the Loser's Bench) -- that "ON" (Optimum Nutrition) has a tropical punch flavor in it's Gold Standard line of protein. It's very good. If by chance you have Food-4-Less Stores in your area, they by far have the best price on this brand. Be careful of getting it at GNC because you will pay double of what you can get it at Food-4-Less. This can be found on-line as well - shop around for the best price. Another option for fruit flavored proteins is from Syntrax...the Nectar line of proteins from them are also very good...a bit pricey but the flavors are decent and they have a variety to choose from. Once again, the internet is the best way to find this product at the lowest price.
Will have to defer to someone else on the liquid calcium specifically...just make sure whatever option you choose that it is calcium citrate and not carnonate. Citracal-D makes a tablet called "Petites" that are relatively small and easy to swallow. Probably not good for recent post-ops, but those 3 months out or more should be able to handle the petites just fine. Remember - calcium is best absorbed when accompanied by vitamin-D.
Best wishes!
