I have been approved by my insurance to have the wls. I got a call today from Dr. Scott's office to get me set for a class that runs from 7:45a.m. till 12 and then to see the doctor. But they can't get me in till December and I will get a call back. So I was confused about what the class was so I was looking through my papers from the Dr.'s office and it mentioned seeing the dieitican, excerise person and Dr. Bumby and it costing $293.00, insurance doesn't pay for it. I'm wanting to know why I would have to see Dr. Bumby again, I went to her for my pre-evaluation and she stated that was all the visit's I had to do with her. And does this class require you to pay the day of or do they take payments? Any information would help....Thanks.

I am going through the process at Dr. Scott's office as well. I believe paying the $293 is for your nutrition, excercise consult. I'm not sure why Dr. Bumby would be there. I didn't go to her for my psy consult because she was way to expensive. I went to Tracy Batten in Jefferson City. You have to pay the full amount the day of your class. I went as a support person for my sister's seminar on Nov. 13 and someone asked the question regarding payment for the class you are about to attend. Dr. Bumby might just be there to see how you are doing etc... or giving some tips pre op and post op. Do you mind me asking what insurance you have? I'm trying to get approved for the surgery and my next step is submitting to insurance. I will have to wait til the first of the year to submit to my new insurance policy b/c my current policy has a weight loss exclusion. Can you tell me about your insurance experience? Good luck with Dr. Scott. I really like him and his team. I think they make you jump through a lot of "hoops" because they geuinely care for their patients. Leslie
