Is anyone out there a postal worker or family member of one whose bariatric surgery (gastric bypass or lapband) was covered by their postal health insurance in the St. Louis, Missouri area? Please let me know what insurance carrier you have that covers bariatric surgery. I am trying to find health insurance that will cover it-- please help, open enrollment closes in December.

My husband is a city carrier and we have BCBS of KC. The book does not exclude it if you are 100 pounds or 100% over normal weight. I go for my consult on November 29th and after that they will submit the request so I'll know more soon after that I hope.
