God Bless Melissa ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You have to be old enough to remember Abbott and Costello, and too old to REALLY understand computers, to fully appreciate this. For those of us who sometimes get flustered by our computers, please read on . . . If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their infamous sketch, "Who's on First?" might have turned out something like this: COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you? COSTELLO: Thanks. I'm setting up an office in my den and I'm thinking about buying a computer. ABBOTT: Mac? COSTELLO: No, the name's Lou. ABBOTT: Your computer? COSTELLO: I don't own a computer. I want to buy one. ABBOTT: Mac? COSTELLO: I told you, my name's Lou. ABBOTT: What about Windows? COSTELLO: Why, will it get stuffy in here? ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows? COSTELLO: I don't know. What will I see when I look at the windows? ABBOTT: Wallpaper. COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software. ABBOTT: Software for Windows? COSTELLO: No. On the computer! I need something I can use to write proposals, track expenses and run my business. What do you have? ABBOTT: Office. COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything? ABBOTT: I just did. COSTELLO: You just did what? ABBOTT: Recommend something. COSTELLO: You recommended something? ABBOTT: Yes. COSTELLO: For my office? ABBOTT: Yes. COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office? ABBOTT: Office. COSTELLO: Yes, for my office! ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows. COSTELLO: I already have an office with windows! OK, let's just say I'm sitting at my computer and I want to type a proposal. What do I need? ABBOTT: Word. COSTELLO: What word? ABBOTT: Word in Office. COSTELLO: The only word in office is office. ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows. COSTELLO: Which word in office for windows? ABBOTT: The Word you get when you click the blue "W". COSTELLO: I'm going to click your blue "w" if you don't start with some straight answers. What about financial bookkeeping? You have anything I can track my money with? ABBOT T: Money. COSTELLO: That's right. What do you have? ABBOTT: Money. COSTELLO: I need money to track my money? ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer. COSTELLO: What's bundled with my computer? ABBOTT: Money. COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer? ABBOTT: Yes. No extra charge. COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much? ABBOTT: One copy. COSTELLO: Isn't it illegal to copy money? ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a license to copy Money. COSTELLO: They can give you a license to copy money? ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT! (A few days later) ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you? COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off? ABBOTT: Click on "START".............

Melissa, Melissa As usual you are in rare form, what a great way to start the day than with prayer first of course and then a hearty laugh BTW I was reading your profile and it is snazzy the way you have music on it and I guess I'm one of the OLDER folk because I remember Abbott and Costello well and I'm sorta like the guy trying to buy the computer, I have one and I'm LIMITED with what I can do with it I was one of those too that was LET DOWN by Dr. Stan Augustin and I may have seen you at one of the support meetings at Truman Med, I was there the day they told people if you lived too far from Truman they wouldn't be able to do your surgery, anyway sweet lady I have come to the conclusion that God had other plans for us which didn't include Dr. Augustin doing our surgeries and He (God) is the one in control and look how well we turned out I'm keeping you in my prayers for your up and coming surgery too and thank you for prayers for my DH, he is coming along very well , he's up and about and the wise cracking has returned so I can tell he's almost his old self. Got to get busy now, everyone have a wonderfull and blessed day! Barbara T.

Good Morning Missouri, Well what a dreary morning it is. I can't believe how warm it is tho but they are saying tomorrow is suppose to be cooler. I wish the rain would stop. It's not really raining here but a steady drizzle all morning so far. Yuppers Melissa the count down is on, I just can't believe my surgery date is almost here. It's been almost 2 years since I started this whole journey, searching out doctors to accept medicare and so forth to finally end up with exactly who God wanted to do my surgery. Gurl I'll sure be praying for you since we'll both be on the operating table at the same time. Well today was gonna be filled with getting the christmas decorations sorted out in the shedd since I wont be able to lift things after surgery but with the rain Im gonna wait a lil while, or maybe tomorrow. I gotta start getting things ready to leave on monday, we're gonna try and pull out of here late morning so we can be in Sedalia by 2ish or so cuz I have to take that stuff to clean me out lol. Deb M. Are ya out there hiding again?? Come out come out where ever ya are!! Hope things are ok with ya, sure miss your posts. Well Im gonna go get some things done, hope everyone has a great weekend!!! Andrew

Hello to my Missouri friends, I am back!!! Sure hope my life settles down for a few days so I can get caught up. Want to say here that Andrew and Melissa (you are both in my prayers for your upcoming surgery) Told my husband I gotta get home as I must get to the hospital to see Andrew on his surgery date. Sure would like to get to Columbia to see Melissa but dont know if that is possible. My sister in law was buried on Monday and would not be shocked to get another call that brother in law passed away. He was the sick one for 3 years and his wife was only diagnosed 5 weeks ago with bone cancer and died. Praise the Lord she did not have to suffer any longer. It is so good to return home. Will get rested up and post over the weekend. Where is Jan??? I will have to read the posts. Colette
