First impressions Part 2

I would like to thank everyone *****sponded to my post yesterday. I sure makes me feel so much better knowing you all care so much. I do want to make some things clear, the Dr. that put my filter in was NOT Dr. Hodges. He was a Vascular surgeon, and the OR they used was not the same OR that Dr. Hodges uses. I NEVER had any doubt about the ability of Dr.Hodges doing my surgery. I knew from the first time I met him he would do my surgery. I did a lot of research on doctors and I knew he is the best Dr. for me. Yesterday I call Dr. Hodges office and I talked to Mary and she also was upset about the way things went. So she talked to Dr. Hodges about everything and would have him look into things. A short time later Dr. Hodges called me and we had a long talk. He explained to me that the operating room he uses to do his WLS is equipped to hold up to 1000 pounds, and most tests they may have to do after my surgery can be done. The only thing that can't be done is a CAT scan. I feel so much better now, and am going to have my surgery on the 14th. Again from the bottom of my heart thank you all for your support and prayers, and if there is anything I can do for any of you just let me know I am here for all the rest of you as you were for me. OH THIS IS GOOD TO HEAR ALAN!!!!!!! I'm so glad you are able to get answers that help you feel confident again in moving forward with the same Dr to have surgery on the 14th!! As long as YOU are Comfortable and confident that's what counts and it sounds like Dr Hodges was able to answer your questions and I hope this incident will serve as a lesson to them to be prepared next time one of our fellow Morbidly Obese pts comes in for a proceedure like yours. Alan, I feel so much better after reading this post, and I know you do to. As Vesta said, this is an answer to prayer.....cause we were all praying for you. Dr. Hodges has always been great with me. He made one of those phone calls to me before my surgery too. It sure makes you feel better when your surgeon takes time to pick up the phone. I'm really proud of him for doing that for you. You hang in there.....and we won't forget to be praying on the 14th. Glenna

I am so glad to hear that Alan. It is a good sign that your surgeon and his office cared enough to call you back right away and reassure you. It'll be okay!!
