I just typed in protein drinks and it will bring up some, just call them and ask for free samples, I got some that way. you will get more ideas on here too. I am trying some now so I will be ready when time comes..and the protein is great for you , after surgery you will need at least 60 grams of protein a day and some you can get from this drink..I dont know much about it myself, people on here are helping alot...Vesta

Postop vitamins-Flintstone chewables (after I could swallow, Centrum Complete), prescription Protonix for prevention of ulcers, Citrical Calcium Citrate and just added Flaxseed Oil, Biotin, and Folic Acid to help my hair and nails. I use EAS Carb Advantage Chocolate from Walmart and Unjury unflavored from www.unjury.com. They can be gotten used to easily. Ask unjury for samples. I have seen a lot on the bariatriceating.com and Walgreen's website too. ~Diana~

In Springfield, on republic road is a store called healthy weight supermarket. They have several different kinds of drinks. I don't care for the ones that taste milky. It doesn't seem to matter if they do or don't have lactose....they are just too sweet and "heavy" for me. But they have fruit flavored, clear liquid ones. Kind of like crystal light. They have 15 grams of protein per glass. I like really tart stuff so the grapefruit is my favorite, but I like most of the fruit ones. If you tell them you are having bariatric surgery and would like to try some, they'll hook you up with some samples and they give a 10% discount to WLS patients (but I've found that I have to remind them that I'm a WLS pt every time I go). They have hot chocolate, oatmeal, broth (which I think is gross but others like just fine) and puddings/jellos. After surgery, they have some really good frozen entrees and desserts that are already prepared and are close in price to many of the diet frozen dinners on the market today. They use the phoenix protocol which closely resembles body for life, south beach diet and yes....you guessed it, bariatric surgery diet recommendations. Lots of protein, carbs from healthy sources (healthy carbs, fruits, vegetables, etc.). They recommend low fat and low processed carbs (white bread, pasta, white rice, sugar, etc). All the products they carry in the store are in line with that way of eating and I've been suprised by how many products that I actually like. One of my wls buddies in New York gets these protein shots. She's young and parties a lot and she said they are like jello shots made with protein. They are small and I think she said they are 15 grams of protein or maybe 20. I'll do some looking and see if i can get the name of them for you. I still stand by my previous thoughts that cottage cheese is the perfect food (if there is one). It's high in protein, low in carbs, high in calcium and vitamin D and filling.....it's probably the number one thing I eat. I eat it almost every single day. Good Luck! Victoria

Ha! This is too funny! I just clicked send on my response to you when I caught a glimpse of an ad for those protein shots I was telling you about. The ad says "25 grams of protein (which is freaking awesome) less than 3 ounces, 0 fat, 0 carbs and 100 calories". Try looking at the ad trail to the left of the OH website, down at the bottom. If you can't find it, try profect.com or protica.com Ciao! Victoria
