NEW AND WAITING FOR A DATE
HI, i'AM A NEW MEMBER, WHO IS WAITING FOR A SURGERY DATE, I WENT TO A SEMINAR IN AUGUST AT BOTHWELL REGIONAL HEALTH CENTER. DR. PHILLIP HORNBOSTEL WAS THE DOCTOR IN CHARGE. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE DOCTOR'S KNOWLEDGE AND CARING ATTITUDE TOWARDS INDIVIDUALS LIKE MYSELF.WE FILLED OUT ALL THE PAPER WORK AND THEN HAD A DATE OF OCTOBER 11 2006 TO MEET WITH THE DOCTOR. I'M NOW JUST WAITING ON A APPROVAL AND A DATE FOR THE SURGERY. HOPEFULY IT DOES NOT TAKE MUCH LONGER BUT I REALLY SHOULD NOT COMPLAIN AS OUR TIME HAS NOTBEEN TO BAD REALLY.
Hi Elizabeth, welcome to the board. Dr. H. is one great Doctor. I just had surgery in August and am doing great. He is very careing and very proffessional too. As soon as they get approval from your insurance either Dena or Margie will call you with your surgery date. From what i read about all the run arounds that a lot of doctors have their patients to do Dr. H. is a piece of cake.
Hope you heard something soon. and again welcome to the board. continure to post and let us get to know you better. Jan
Welcome Elizabeth! I am a new to the board post-op myself, and the folks here are a great bunch of people that are so caring and welcomed me with open arms. I had Dr. Hoehn in Shawnee Mission, KS and had lap RNY in August. I too am doing great, and have never looked back. This is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I went to my first seminar in February, and had surgery August 1. At the time, it seems like it would never get here, but now I'm almost 14 weeks out. The best piece of advice I can give you is research, research, research. Use the time wisely. Start ordering protein samples and find some you think you can live with after surgery. Don't order a lot of the big tubs beforehand, because our taste buds will change to some degree. Start walking now, and build your stamina up. It will benefit you in the long run. Welcome, take care, and please don't hesitate to holler if you have any questions. - Kim
Elizabeth,
Welcome to the MO board! I'd like to invite you to the New Springfield support group. "Circle of Friends Bariatric Support Group" We had a couple of pts from your surgeon at our last meeting, we'd love another! If you've not read about the group yet, look for Claudette's post to see what we're about. Being part of support groups are important in this journey!!! The more the better I say!
Seems that things are moving right along for you. Good LUCK!!!
