Update on my Lipo Surgery
Just wanted to give you all an update since my surgery on October 6th. I had the large volume liposuction on my upper trunk and both arms. I have to admit it was a lot more difficult than I had anticipated. 
To begin with for those of you that don't know the doctors had told me they thought they might be able to removed 15 liters of fatty tissue; however they ended up removing 22 liters. WOW!!! 
For those of you who are metric savvy....like me....that is about 5.80 gallons.
I had only planned on staying in the hospital overnight, 
being released on Saturday October 7th; however because of the volume they removed I had to have 2 units of blood in transfusions and had to stay in the hospital until Tuesday October 10th. 
I had to go to the doctor's office on Thursday October 12th for a follow up; and was feeling pretty good at this point; 
however, things started going down from there.... 
The following Monday October 16th; the doctor decided to take out one of the drains (on the right side and left the one on the left side in....so I was down to just one drain....that is when the problems started... 
.I developed a Seroma on the right side; then I developed a small infection in the cavity. 
This small infection has gotten progressively worse; and I am now on my 4th round of antibiotics; each one stronger than the next. This new one ....even with my co-pay of my insurance cost me $100.00. 
OUCH..!!!! That almost hurts worse than the infection.
Along with this seroma I have now had to go to the doctor's office 4 times and have had to have the fluid removed (twice by needle aspiration and twice by additional liposuction right within the office....talk about painful....ugh...ugh...
One of the last time I went to the office, on Monday of this week.....the doctor opted to re-insert the drain in the area....
.where the seroma had developed....well that was all good and well, but I developed a low grade fever Monday night and Tuesday began to feel really bad at work....so I called..went back to the office on Tuesday and he had to liposuction out additional fluid.....finally today...I am feeling much better....So I am hoping that things are finally turning around....
I never anticipated this to be so difficult.... .but I am still so glad that I had this done. So the next step will be the brachioplasty, arm lift and axiloplasty in March 2007.

oh my Betty! That sounds like some pretty awful stuff to endure. I hope things continue to get better from here. I'd never heard of this procedure before you had it. Did you do before pics to compare the results?
I'm going in soon for my 2nd round of PS. My first time went well so I am hoping this one is even better.
