Wednesday Whats Happening
Good morning brrrrrr get out the long handles and the mittens your going to need them on your long walks this morning. I need something to cover my face and nose , They really got cold yesterday morning and will probably get even colder here today.
I think the only thing I got right yesterday was that it was Tuesday, just not the one I thought it was. Lol
Silly old woman.
But it still applies to go Vote. Just wasn't yesterday but will be next Tuesday. I am looking forward to this election being over and get rid of all those ads on TV.
We are too dumb to make up our own minds they have to keep telling us what to do over and over and over, it seems like that anyway.
Well I have two good size tomato plants to put into the green house . One is a good big tomato and the other is a cherry tomato plant. Hopefully I can have nice fresh tomatoes all winter. This I think will be really fun. I am looking forward to puttering around in there all winter.
Marilyn: how did your friends surgery go? Is she ok?
Tell her we all wish her the best of luck and get well fast.
Rachael: well how did your Drs. Appointment go?
Did he give you any hope of finding what is causing the pain you are suffering?
Did the kids enjoy the trick or treating , It had to be awfully cold on the little things last night. Out here where we live we never have any kids to come out.
We live way to far out for people to bring their kids out here. I sort of miss that part but don't miss the bigger kids doing mean things in the neighborhood.
Barbara T: have they found your husbands problem and what is causing it yet? I have been praying , as Im sure lots of other people have been also ,since yesterday and will continue to pray for him until you say he is well.
I know it is always so lonesome in the house when your spouse is gone for what ever reason isn't it.
Please let us know how he is doing. Please don't go Bonkers. That wont help him any at all. Love you .
Tressia: well one more day and you will be on your journey to a better life and better health. I am excited for you. There will be bad days and good days ahead.
Just hang in there and you will figure out all the problems that arise. Know that all your friends on here will be praying for you till we hear that you are ok. The chances of anything going wrong is very slim anymore so don't go into surgery with doubts and fear, rather go in with an uplifted heart that this is Gods way of healing all of us obese people and giving us a chance to be whole again. Love you girl will be waiting to hear from you again.
Brenda: every time I see your post with your new picture I am just taken aback about how cute and young you are looking. I love the new hair color.
Or old hair color renewed. I have always loved my red hair but I went thru a blonde state too. Everything from ash blond to platinum lol never do that again. Thanks for putting your stats on the bottom of your post yesterday. Maybe we will get everyone to do it at least once in a while.
What time on the 19th is your appointment? Early or late. Mine is at 3pm. But we can come into town early if need be.
Melissa: Oh my I bet the fil wasn't a happy camper at all was he? That is so sad when we get to a certain age like he is and then have to take the drivers test all over again. But it is better than him killing himself or someone else with his car. I myself thing they ought to have a certain age where you have to have to take the tests all over again anyway. Lots of older people are driving that really shouldn't be. And yes I know I am getting close to what ever that age might be but I still think so. I know for a fact that my reflects aren't as quick as they use to be and try to make up for that when I drive by being extra cautions.
Is your sugar under control now. Has it gotten lots better since your surgery? Have you had it all your life or only after a certain weight ? Hopefully one day it will totally be under control when you have lost enough weight. Craig was concerned that he might be losing weight too fast. He is down 106 pounds now. What do you think? I don't know how much he is losing a week but I know I am losing about 3 pounds a week and I figure with him being as big as he was that he maybe losing faster. Have you slowed down or , or you still losing a certain amount a week?
I woke up in the middle of the night so thought I would get this posted. Hope everyone has a pleasant day on this first day of November. Wow this year doesn't like much being gone does it? I told my hubby yesterday that we need to get the Christmas stuff out of the shed soon and go thru it and see what we are going to need for outside stuff. I didn't buy any new lights last year so may need to go buy new ones again this year. Or add to the ones I have. I love decorating for Christmas. We will get the lights up on the outside on the next pretty days we have , just wont turn them on until the day after Thanksgiving.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS
JAN
Gooooooooood Morning Missssssssouri
Bbbbbrrrr It's cold out this morning. I got up early cuz I couldnt sleep, when I get up the dogs think its their time to go out regardless what time it is so I let them out and bbbbrrrrrrrr its cold lol
I so can't believe it's Nov 1st. Time has flown by so fast this year. It was just 4 months ago, July 4th, that I attended Dr. Hornbostels seminar and now it's almost time for me to go on my PreOp appointment, sheeeeesh. You all were right, just stay busy and the time will fly and it did indeed lol. I think Im starting to get a bit nervous lol I'm so ready for the lifestyle change tho, it's just I've never in all my 42 yrs have I had to have any type of surgery so this is gonna be a new experience for me. I gotta call yesturday from one of my brothers, he had the Open RNY a couple years ago and lives down in Louisiana, he said he's gonna come up for my surgery, i think I told ya'll this before lol I havnt seen him in 12 yrs or better. My other two brothers cant make it tho but they all want to get together this spring, that'll be a first in over 25 yrs!!
Jan you silly gurl you really must wanna get the voting stuff over with LoL I dont blame ya tho, I'm so tired of the ads too. Seems all ya see is this one saying bad stuff about that one and so forth, its really rediculous (sp).
Melissa you becareful gurl with that sugar. I know exactly what your goin through, since I've been dieting tryin to get down to what the hospital requires my surgar bottoms out like that alot. I keep orange juice on hand, for me that seems to bring it back up quicker then anything. I totally hate how that makes ya feel, seems it takes forever to not feel week from it too, I'll sure keep ya in my prayers that you get that adjusted soon.
Barbara T I'm sure with the others in keeping your husband in prayer that he gets better quick.
Tressia you go gurl, dont get to comfy on that losers bench tho, Im right there behind ya!!!
Brenda Im like you, where are all those that havnt posted in ages now, guess we'll just have to get that possi out and send em on a hunt!!!
Well I guess Im gonna go get my day started. Not much going on for me today, gonna try and walk this morning then come back and piddle around the house today. Gotta try and secure a motel for Nov 13th, that way I dont have to leave here at 2am for surgery lol. Also....for those that have had their surgery at Bothwell in Sedalia, are the rooms big enough for someone to sleep in a chair or anything. We're not sure if we need to get my wife a room to stay in or what??
Ya'll have a blessed day!!
Andrew

Andrew that is the only bad thing i can say at all about Bothwell is the tiny rooms. and they are tiny,. there is one chair in there and the bed and that is the width of the room and the length is about 4 feet longer than the bed. also the bathrooms are so so tiny. but the care that i got was so great that i didnt notice the small rooms. the place we got to stay the night before the surgery Joe stayed in while i was in the hospita by himself. so i would say she needs a motel room while you are in hospital she will need to be rested to drive you home. Jan
Jan,
I kind of figured that was the case with the rooms. My brother was telling the hospital that he had his surgery at, he had it done in Little Rock, AR, they have a specific bariatric wing and have a couple extra rooms so that those that have to drive several hours away can come the night before and stay overnight there plus one family member can stay there while your in the hospital at no extra charge, I thought that was really cool. We found a motel in Sedalia for $24.95, not sure how nice it is tho, its the Budget Host Super 7, if anyone knows anything about this motel could ya let me know
Thanks so much,
Andrew

Good Morning All
Well I'm glad to see that most everyone is doing good! Sorry to hear your having problems Craig, I will be praying for you! I pray that you get to feeling better soon so you can get that trach out and be back to your ol self quickly!
Andrew, I glad you are getting you psych eval done and aren't you special....there coming to you to do it...lol Better than mine, I get bad points for the way my house looks...lol Also, glad you liked the story, it touched me and I felt the need to share!
Jan, send some of those tomatoes over here, I sure could use them...lol Hey, I like the new picture on your website...lookin good girl! I'm still working on my psych eval. I got the name of another shrink from someone on the board, I'm going to try them before I make any decisions, there a lot closer than the one in Sedalia. The one from Sedalia did call me yesterday and said that it would cost me $250.00 with $180.00 up front! I just wi**** was all over and I was already on the loser's bench.
Had to take my hubby to the Dr. yesterday....his legs and feet have been killing him for years but now they hurt so bad he is to the point of tears everynight! David is about as flat footed as you can get and the tendons that go from just below the toes down are inflamed really bad and because he's walking differently to try to avoid the pain, it's causing other parts of his body to hurt. I guess the ball of his heel is being pushed out to the side whenever he steps down. We have braces on both feet now and he feels better, pain isn't so bad.
While I was at the Drs. with David, I weighed myself, I'm back up to 284lbs.
David and I had a conversation last night about how I sometimes feel as though he's afraid that I will leave him after this surgery and I lose this weight. He even mentioned it when I first found out that I am a candidate for wls. It seems as tho whenever I get good at eating right and start dropping a little weight he comes home with a bunch of junk that he knows are my weaknesses and I can't stay away from the stuff if it's in the house. I reassured him that I love him and that I have NO intentions on leaving him...after 24 years, be real!! Besides, no one else would want me...lol We, he and I both are very strongwilled, stubborn and set in our ways! No one would want either one of us...lol Besides, I don't wanna have to train another one...this one too to long like it is.....lol Seriously though, he was a little upset at first but we talked through it and we both understand that changes have to be made and they have to stay that way and the sooner we do it, the better off we BOTH will be!
Well today is a cold one here. I need to go get some straw or something for the doghouses. My dogs think their freezing! Hubby calls them pupsicles
Well, everyone have a good day and try to stay warm!! Love & Prayers Deb M

Good Morning Jan and All !!!
My husband is still in the hospital, I'm hoping he'll get to come home today? But not sure he will be able to. So far the doctors haven't explained to me why he could not expell his urine, his kidneys weren't working (they are now) no damage to them (thank God). This morning they are teaching him how to catherize himself. This has been awful because the doctor said his bladder was so very extended and the fluid had really backed up into his system and he is blessed (don't believe in luck) to be alive. I still am not clear on what caused this. Before surgery he had a prostate test and that came back negative, but this has been scary for me because he has always been so strong and healthy, the doctor did say he was a very healthy man. While I appreciate the care and love he gives to me I don't ever want him to take better care of me than he takes of himself. I had never met a SELFLESS person until I met and married him, he does not put himself first he's always taken care of me, I only hope I am taking as good of care of him.
THANK YOU ALL for the prayers, you'll never know how much it means to know someone else is praying too. To all those whose surgeries are coming up CONGRATULATIONS! and just know that everything will be all right God is good and this miracle was given just for us to get a second chance of getting our health back on track
. Jan tell Craig he's in my prayers also.
Well I have a ton of things to do today, for the first time in twenty seven years I had to take out the trash to the curb yesterday
Still can't find out what I really want to eat though, I'll think I want something and get it and still not want it. I guess I'm going to have to break down and buy a scale
to see just what I've lost because I don't see Dr. H. until December 12th but Jan I've gone from a size 32 back down to a 24 so far, I have a skirt that is a 22 and I figure in about 2 weeks I should be able to wear it again because I can almost button it now "WOW".
Everyone have a blessed and wonderful day, God be with you all.
Barbara T.

Good Brrr Morning:
Just popping in to say hello. I am headed for the shower and then over to my F-I-L's house for his last drivers test. Not looking foward to either result. But know it is going to be one or the other. I am putting on a crock pot of Split pea soup today. Will let you know how it turns out. I hope you all have a blessed day and stay warm & bundled up!!!!
God Bless
Melissa
P.S. Yes, I am feeling alot better. I have to go do bloodwork on Friday. Then I will find out if I can lose 1 more shot or all shots and go to pills. Keeping fingers crossed. I would rather take pills then all those shots!!!
Momma Jan & Company!
I forgot to tell you guys that I was with Becks (Lucky D) this weekend in Columbia, had a blast, but MAN is socializing tiring...lol..
Then I went to my 1 month doc appt. I am at 231.
Was 278 on 9/15, ws 258 on surgery day, 9/29....My diabetes are all gone....Will go to have bloodwork performed end of Dec. to check my "levels" of everything including A1C numbers, but I am off all meds at this point.
WOOT WOOT....
My Avalanche is being a badddd Truck, went to Chevy dealer today, and they told me to come back tomorrow...
My Message Center keeps telling my Air Bags need Service...
OH! Weird thing happened while I was at 1 month doc appt. They asked me if I'd be in their marketing materials, (((not sure what that means, maybe a brochure??)) and I told them sure, I signed a release form, and the guy took pics of me and Dr. Ramashwamy pretending to discuss WLS....
I guess I will be playing the role of "FAT CHICK, SEEKING ANSWERS ABOUT WLS" lol
I thought, I can't even tell any difference in me, then I uploaded my pics from the day before surgery....
OH YES there is a difference.....holy smokes, a huge difference.....I went from 4X/5X to 2XL are too big, I have ordered some Avalanche Tees in XL, so I will let you guys know...Not TOO shabby for (1) month Post Op...
Momma Jan: Food tastes terrible, my dietician says that is just part of it. I am "up to" lettuce, cooked veggies and cold cereals as of this coming friday....

Good afternoon Missouri....Sorry I did not get to answer questions this morning came in this morning and was swamped with work....It is the flu season so we have many of our workers in different areas giving the flu mist or vaccine and then that leaves us stretched thin sometimes here....
As for my doctors appointment yesterday: he was pretty upset because the doctor I was seeing told me my B12 level was too high and that I needed to stop the injections...he was really upset about it, and the fact that the other doctor did not have me on folic acid with my injections....so he changed some of medications and drew my blood work....also received a B12 injection.....took me off the neurotin and put me on a new medication called.....Lyrica.....he gave me samples and then he will fight my insurance company so that I can get the new medicatuin if it works...he also wants me to have a nerve conduction test and a sleep study......I haven't been on a CPAP since two days after I came home from having my bypass....So we will see what transpires now....
My daughter is doing better...we had a costume for her to go trick or treating last night and she fell asleep in the car so only my little boy did the trick or treating...he had fun.....
Hope everyone has a blessed evening....
Tonight is my night of TV...Biggest Loser......
