FRIDAY WHATS HAPPENING

Friday and for you that work that is a good day , right? I guess if you work week ends it doesn't make a difference huh? I got a lot of my bulbs planted yesterday. Still no work on the g-house , too much rain to run any of the elect tools. didn't want them to get electrocuted. Lol I did get my shelves ordered from the place that I bought the polycarbonate from. Joe has been over in the guest house all day putting in underlayment flooring. It will help with leveling it all up. I have got to set me up a spray booth to spray paint the ref and stove. Going to paint them black, they are old appliances that are the gold color and I thought the black would look good with the colors Im putting in there. We are painting all the walls sage green and the flooring will be walnut laminate flooring, the cabinets in the kitchen are candlewick as are the ceilings. The colors that I am using as another color is brick red and soft gold. And beige. Looks like grandmas house. Lol lots of baubles and pictures and lace too. Bought some braided throw rugs to go in places with all these colors in them too. I just bought a set of red small appliances for over there yesterday too. Coffee pot, toaster, and can opener. Look really cute on the counter tops over there. Well enough of all of that Im sure no one is really interested in my decorating scheme. Lol Yesterday I walked for the first time a total of 30 minutes. But had to go around and around the block and up and down a lot of hills. To get it all in. I would like to find a flat place to walk so I could see how long and how far I could really walk. I told my daughter that I want a really good pedometer for Christmas. One that measures not only steps but mileage, heart rate and calories used. You can get a good one like that for about 30 dollars. I think that would be a really good present for mama don't you all think so? Barbara Scott: yes I agree that with the pouch is a totally new way of life. I just at this point don't see me ever being able to eat enough food to get in enough protein and calories to exist on with out using mainly protein shakes. Melissa: We havent had storms today just lots of drizzle. And more drizzle. I know we need it but I wi**** would just rain and get it all over with. Lol Of course it isn't up to me is it. Lol Well I really hope your father in law doesn't pass the drivers part of his test but I know he wants to be able to drive again. And I know it will cause a hardship on all of you if he cant drive but it is better than him killing himself or someone else with his car. Wow on your weight loss . That is amazing. How much do you need to lose to be down to where you want to be before surgery in 2 weeks? They say to up your protein and water intake to lose more or to break a plateau. So if you can do that maybe that will help. I don't know where everyone was at yesterday must have been a busy day for all of you. Im still pulling for Marty on the Biggest loser . I guess because he is from Missouri. Lol Andrew: hey man you need to find a psych to get your eval quick. I ask Marilyn to email you with who she used and then checked on here and she had already done so. You don't want to not be able to get your surgery just because of that. Have you called or emailed Dena and ask her about if the one in Sedalia could do it for you and do they take Medicare and when you come up for your pre op appointments. Since you have to go up there anyway . And could h get the report to them that quick? Well Im thru scolding you for now. Lol just don't want you to not be able to have your surgery. Hurry, hurry. Diana: so glad that you are not lurking anymore lol. You don't have to have anything important to talk about . Look at my post most of the time I just ramble lol Yes I got one of the gift check mailers from lane Bryant yesterday , hey that is a pretty nice outfit. Lol Air bras. You really need that? Well I may by Christmas that is for sure the girls are pretty deflated. Julia: I used Dr. Hornbostel and loved him so did a lot of others on here. He is a very skilled surgeon. Well the surgery is a lot different now than it was in the 80s Im sure and you are probably better off now than then too. I have read about a lot of 80s surgeries that are now having revisions. Im sure there will be someone to take you up on the angel thing. Maybe more than one. Have you ever met Colette? She lives close to Sedalia too. And is a nurse too. Vesta: so now you have an angel so you are all set . You should be hearing about your date before too much longer. I hope it is soon. Huera: thanks for telling Andrew to hurry I ask you do that and you had already done so .lol. Yes Jeannie had her surgery in Shreveport. Yesterday morning about 9am. She give up on the Ark board she never could get anyone to post and get it started like the Mo. Board is going . She mainly posts on the Over 50 board where I go too. Lol my fingernails are dirty most of the time. I am always digging in the dirt it seems like. I love it. Tami: you sound like most people , you go to wal- mart for one thing and you come out with a cart full . Hope your surgeries for the p.s. come out ok. I don't know if I will try to have anything done other than the t.t. later on or not. Since Im not in my 30s I cant and don't want to look like I am, just feel like it .lol But if I were younger you bet you I would go for all of it. Yeah I know about the going overboard for something. I found these rice cakes and it isn't high fat but does have high carbs in them if you eat too many. I have to watch it because of the carbs. Im posting this a little early , right before midnight on Thursday night but I intend to sleep late in the morning. So getting a head start on this. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

I bet you won't..............sleep late that is I haven't been on board lately. I just get busy with my life and being a pastor's wife. Time just gets away and as I said before I'm a lurker at heart I pray everyone is doing well. We just had a thunderstorm roll through, I'm about sick of this rain. Goodmorning, I really am up this early today!! It has been raining so hard my poor lil dog refuses to go out. She would rather explode than get wet. I wouldn't be out if didn't have to take my other half to work and do errands.I am looking forward to meeting some of you at the Nov. meeting. I am looking for a pysch eval to make sure I get a jump start. I did find a woman psychologist in Columbia that has had WLS, I have to call to see if they take medicare.For anyone using Dr Hornbostel in Sedalia let me know your date and I will be happy to check in on you. Momma Jan: OF COURSE we want to hear about your guest quarters...I can almost "see" it, by the way you decribed it. When will you start booking guests And, most importantly, does breakfast come with the deal.... OH FIDDLE!!! I can't eat anything but eggs....DRATS.... I hope you recognized that I was just being silly, and would NEVER invite myself to someone's house. I have been soooo busy this rainy week, with piddly little errands, and hate getting out in the rain. BLEK.... I think I shared with your guys that the boy that I saw a couple of weeks ago, was a total dud.....And he didn't take my not wanting to fall madly in love with him very well..... Figures, I do not have "Good Man Radar"...darn it.... SO, this weekend, I am going up to Columbia, MO early to spend time with Lucky/Becks from on here.... Becks has an equally lovely sister Barb, and I am very excited at the notion of getting to be with two such wonderful woman. As most of you guys know, Becks and I had chatted on here, and talked on the phone, but never even met in person, and the day of my surgery, she dropped everything, took a day off work, and drove from Kansas City, MO to Columbia.... For ME, a total stranger...... She stayed with me that whole day, and came right back the next day.... I don't know about you guys, but I've been on my own my whole life, and the last 15 years, I have not had anyone man or lady friends around.....I emerged myself in my career, and traveled so much, that my grrl friends moved on and left me behind. Becks, like all the guys/gals I have met here was such a support for me. And don't kid yourself, if you are PRE OP.....YOU NEED people.... That was the HARDEST thing I ever had to come to terms with during my WLS journey.... So, if my story couldn't sound sweeter, when Becks went back to Kansas City, she left the Sherr Watch Command Post in the hands of her equally dazzling sister, Barb.... THis woman only knew me from what Becks had told her! She arrived at my hotel and brought me a shower chair...THAT WAS SUCH A GOD SEND..... If you could be so fortunate, please FIND ONE prior to your surgery, and have it in place the first few days you are newly POST OP.... Barb would come and check on me each afternoon, bringing me all the things that Becks had discovered that made her newly POST OP bearable. I drive up in the morning and meet the Grrlz...they are tailgating and going to the Mizzou Tiger Football game... NEAT IDEA ALERT: I am compiling WLS patient friendly recipes, and I think it would be a great idea IF we all "REPORT" the successful ones, that we've found AND tried, and love....What do you guys think? I think it would be nice to know that someone in our own predicament has tried out a healthy recipe and what they thought of it, would they change anything, Did they? etc.... What do you think? For me, becoming Type 2 Diabetic (((or as I have fondly always called it, Fatt Grrl Diabetes)))) then having WLS it is soooo important to eat well, and healthfully.... It has gotten so bad for me that when I go to my mom's (((9 houses away)))) they are always eating soooo poorly, I have to now stay away, so I don't get "sucked it" to tryint to eat things that I am A.) NOT READY TO HAVE AFTER WLS B.) IS NOT HEALTHY FOR ANYONE Yes, I am weak when it comes to how hungry I am, and I am around the 3 people that are related to me, and they are eating my old stand bys.... So, let mek now about the RECIPE SWAP, as I think if we have a thread that we keep "going" it would be sooooo nice, to collect Tried & True Recipes that are great for holiday cooking, and still HEALTHY FOR US!! Good Morning Everyone: Just a quick good morning to say YEA CARDS!!! It rained here off and on all night long. And looks like it is going to carry on thro the day also. DH is gone to help his friend go get a swingset he bought for his kids. Then he is coming home and were going to lunch. And hopefully get to spend the rest of the day together. Getting ready to drink my protein, and take meds. Seem like a day when all you wanna do is stay in your PJ's and cuddle up and read a book or watch a good movie. Sorry I do enjoy rainy days like this always have. It is play havic with my phone lines thro all crackley and static. Thank goodness for my cellphone. lol Well I am going to get moving. Love ya Melissa Happy Halloween An extremely modest man was in the hospital for a series of tests, the last of which had left his bodily systems extremely upset. Upon making several false alarm trips to the bathroom, he decided the latest episode was another and stayed put. He suddenly filled his bed with diarrhea and was embarrassed beyond his ability to remain rational. In a complete loss of composure he jumped out of bed, gathered up the bed sheets, and threw them out the hospital window. A drunk was walking by the hospital when the sheets landed on him. He started yelling, cursing, and swinging his arms violently trying to get the unknown things off, and ended up with the soiled sheets in a tangled pile at his feet. As the drunk stood there, unsteady on his feet, staring down at the sheets, a hospital security guard (barely containing his laughter) who had watched the whole incident walked up and asked, "What is going on here? " The drunk, still staring down replied: "I think I just beat the crap out of a ghost."

Hey Jan Just a quick "HELLO" I've been very busy of late my husband had surgery this past Wednesday 10/25 to repair the hernia he had AND NOW IT'S MY TURN TO BE A NURSE-MAID FOR HIM. The doctor said the hernia was bigger than they thought and he was glad he didn't wait any longer, which of course just makes me love him the more because as usual he was denying himself so I could have my surgery first and the doctor said he had to be in great pain, but my husband never even let on that he was hurting. I Thank God for being with him and bringing him safely through the surgery and he's coming along fine still wobblely but okay. I'm still working on my book, and "WOW" I saw that beautiful picture of Brenda M, glad to hear she's doing so great, how are you coming along? I wish I could put up a picture (still can't figure it out) and change my profile over, I read what Treece said I may just have to contact her. People say to me you look like someone stuck you with a pin and you are going down so fast so it is noticeable and it feels great doesn't it? I've had to take up some clothing so I have something to wear (I LOVE IT) Well sweet lady again I just wanted to say hi to you. God bless you and keep you is my prayer. Barbara T.
