Hey y'all! The support group was so awesome! I've been feeling pretty low the last few days, wondering what in the world I'd done to myself and weeping over Chinese buffets!! Thanks to everyone for the support, understanding, and sincere advice you gave me. Hugs to each of you! I was so stoked after the meeting I didn't get to sleep for some time. My hubby, Steve, and both of my sisters were with me and they really enjoyed themselves. They talked the whole 2 hr drive home. Oh, and I forgot to tell everyone last night that today I had my 1st post-op apt with Dr. Hornbostel. I'm doing so well he only spent a couple of minutes with me. And I've lost (drum-roll, please...............................) 9 lbs!! That's almost a pound a day. Crazy!! I can't wait until next month!! Take care everyone. Nettie

Nettie, Woo Hoo, on the weightloss. You are just getting started, girl. Hang on!! That made me feel sooo good when you said you and your family enjoyed the meeting Monday night. Nettie that is GREAT news!! On the loss of weight AND on how the group affected you. Beign part of a support group is a VERY important part of this journey. COME as OFTEN as you can and stay in touch in between as well. It was GREAT how you had so much support with you! LOVE THAT!! : ) Very nice to meet you!!! Hi y'all. Thanks for the congrats--I'm soo happy about losing 9lbs! But I had a small wow-moment today. I got into my van today to go to town and I realized my belly doesn't touch the steering wheel anymore!! At first I thought Steve must have really pushed the seat back last time he drove. Then I realized he really hadn't touched it. I actually got to scoot my seat up and can reach the pedals better! That was so cool! I must be losing a lot of inches (I think it's all from my backside though!). OK, 'nough pattin' myself on the back. Claudette--yes I finally found a protein that I can handle. I have some IDS NewWhey prodtein tubes. 25g protein in 2.9oz. (They're like Profect) I can't get an entire tube down at one time, but I am able to keep them down. They taste kind of like sweet-tarts. I like the tartness. And I tried Tami's idea with using the blender and making a smoothie--I still can't take the fruit flavored protein that I have, but I tried the same concept with Matrix Chocolate and I am enjoying one right now. NO problems so far. Great tip Tami!! Everone in my family is really looking forward to next month's group. We're still talking about things we learned there. Take care 'til we see each other again!
