Got my surgery date.
I went to Dr. Hodges yesterday and he set my surgery date for 11/14/06, I guess this will be my rebirth day. Now the butterflies are really flapping.
I will need to see a pulmonologist and get a chest X-ray to possible have a filter put in to prevent blood clots. So I guess now my journey begins.

Congratulations Alan on reaching an important milestone in an incredible journey!
Take these next 3.5 weeks to prepare yourself for surgery...start walking now to help build up some stamina, get the blood flowing and your lungs stronger. It will make a HUGE difference in your recovery. Focus on those things you CAN control and don't sweat the things you CANNOT...leave the worries to your medical team and the man upstairs. In other words...HAVE SOME FUN BETWEEN NOW AND THEN!!!!
And so, the journey begins...BEST WISHES!
