what kind of protein drinks are used? and where can you get them? tks Vesta

Vesta I get Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard. It comes in several flavors and I buy mine from Food 4 Less. I dont know if the old Price Chopper now turned Country Market would carry it or not. But it is kind of like a Food 4 Less. If not there is a Food 4 Less in Springfield, MO. Hi Vesta: I order my protein drinks from vitacost on the internet. I don't have much luck around where I live finding such a bargin with finding the whey isolate that has 0 fat and 0 sugars with such a good flavor. They have quite a few flavors to choose from. The product is made by Syntax and is called Nectar. I have tried the Strawberry Kiwi, cappacinno, twisted cherry. which I use in skim milk and the roadside lemonade i use in water. they are all pretty good in flavor. I have tried others I didn't like as well. Hope this is beneficial to you. Tressia

Vesta i use the same one that Melissa uses . they are really good. taste like a milk shake, if you are going to be at the meeting on the 23rd at the firestation i will bring you some samples . You can now get this at the GNC at the Branson Landing i dont know if all gncs handle it or just some but they do there i know. Jan

I use what Melissa and Jan use also and I'd been gettign it at GNC till recently. never realized Food 4 Less had it, cause I never go there. But NOW I go for this ON whey protein powder. My fav though is making fruit smoothies using the strawberry flavored ON with ice, mango, strawberries and banana. I love the fruit smoothies this makes and stock them in the freezer ready to go. I get teh styrofoam cups and lids at a deli and make about 5 cups full at a time to keep in the freezer. Time to make another batch this weekend. I'm gonna tattle on my self here! i put some ameretto in some and stuck in the freezer and marked them with an "A" so I'd remember which was which. This was sort of a weekend treat! Soooooooo, anyway, I quickly grabbed one to take to work this week and on the way up the elevator to my office, glanced down and, you guessed it! An ameretto smoothie at work!! WHOOPS! I did NOT drink it in case anyone's wondering! ANd FYI, I had no alcohol till I was over a year post-op fo ryou newbies!! AND I don't do WELL with it now. Doesn't take much. How'd I get from recommending protein powder to talking about alcohol?? Leave it to me! Sorry! Told ya I was "crazy"! Tami
