monday night support group in columbia

well not that anybody cares but i went for my first support meeting tonight. and it was so good. everybody was so nice. a lot of support. patty

Patty -- I care! I'd like to come to some of the support group meetings in Columbia. Dr. Scott did my surgery the end of August, but I live in Kansas City and work full-time so coming up for an evening meeting is not too convenient. I was thinking the other day about trying to schedule my 3 month follow-up appointment the day of or the morning after a support group meeting -- I think Dr. Scott does clinic on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Do you know if the Columbia meetings are always on Monday or are they on other days as well? Thanks!

hi, thank you for caring, lol. i talk to dr. bombay(spelling?) tonight, u might have met her she is the psychiatrist or psychologist? that dr. scott sends people to to have psyc. evaluation done. anyway, she told me they have twice a month. first monday at the office and the third monday at regional health pavillion. if i heard her right. i'd like to meet you, how are u doing with the post op?

That's so great Patty!! Hope you keep on enjoying it as I have ALWAYS felt a good support group is a vital part of the process with WLS. I'm glad you've found a good one!!! It's GREAT to have peers in person to relate to and there's just a special connection with other WLSers. ENJOY your new group!!! maybe you'l get to do what many of us do in teh Springfield area and go out after meetings to further socialize. We have a great time when we are able to do that. Tami
