SURGERY 9-20TH HOME NOW
Had an open RNY and a hernia repair on 9-20 at KU MED Center in Kansas City. Was in hospital 6 days. Stayed with daughter who lives in K. C. for 2 weeks and I am now home. I live about 1 1/2 hrs away from hospital. Doing great. Hard to get in all the walking, but at 370 lbs. I couldn't walk before surgery very far. Just doing what I can. I know I am down 22 and probably more. I go to Dr on Tuesday. I feel good, just get tired easy. No nausea, No vomiting, tolerating my thin puree diet very well. I am doing so good I sometimes wonder if the surgery is going to work? Hear horror stories, but I am doing so well? Still now having regular bowel movements, but getting better with that too. My surgery was 12 hours long so they said it would take awhile for everything to wake up.
Do you think my surgery will work? Am I doing too good????

Deanna,
Congratulations, you are doing great. Your surgery will work if you absolutely do exactly what your Dr and Nutritionist say. You are going to lose so much so fast - I know you'll do so great. I won't get to have my surgery until after the first of the year and by then you'll be well on your way. Then you can be my cheerleader. So glad you're not having nausea or vomiting. That would be a bummer. As soon as you can, start moving more. That seems to be a vital part of the post-op process. You are going to do great. You are so pretty, can't wait to see your "after" picture. Hugs and love to you.
